I hope that the Wal*Mart waves aren't impossible to find like wave 5 was. I still don't have any of those, and I refuse to pay eBay prices for them.

I'm not chomping at the bit for either, but it would be interesting if they were able to replicate each SP figure in the DCUC line.

From what I understand, since Golden Pharaoh and Cyclotron were specifically made up for the Super Powers line, their rights were originally held by Kenner, but are now who-only-knows-where. At any rate, DC/Mattel does not have the rights to these two characters, so the odds of a 100% complete SP collection in DCUC are pretty much nil. I think it's safe to say they'll get to everyone else, eventually...the 4H could do wonders with Tyr!

Ah. Oh well. I wasn't dying for either but a completely recreated SP line would have been nice. BUT at least they're filling in the gaps of the SP line with characters I always wanted made for that line but never were like Black Canary and Hawkgirl!

if they're gonna do Tyr, that opens up possibilities with the Legion (Tyr is a Legion villain).

but really, he's pretty low on my list of Legion villains I want to see.

I'd rather have the Fatal Five, Mordru, and the Time Trapper first.

    Shazam!!(Capt.Marvel!!),Shazam!!(Capt.Marvel!!),Sh azam!!(Capt.Marvel!!)

I hit paydirt yesterday. During my lunch break, I went to the TRU and Target near work. TRU had zilch, Target had some Mr. Miracles. After work, I went to the Wal Mart one exit away and not only did they have Mr. Miracle (big shock) but two Capt. Marvels. I scooped him (both Capt. M's) up. Next, I went to another TRU and snatched up a better painted Kid Flash (a few Big Barda's were there). The next TRU had zilch and the other two Targets had WW, Cyborg, Aries, Capt. Adam. I arrive at the next Wal Mart and found Dr. Impossible, more MM's, both versions of Supes (one of each) and Big Barda. Scooped up black suit Supes and Dr. I. The last Wal Mart of my trip brought me face to face with reissue Batman, GL, Robin, Firestorm I, two Capt. Colds, some Bardas, Dr. Impossible, a Wally and a Barry, and Mr. Miracle as the Beaver I bought who I needed (Barry and Ronnie). I'm still looking for that Hawkman fella I'll continue my hunt over the weekend.

Definitely. I think we'll see (eventually) all of the SP figures excepting Cyclotron and Golden Pharaoh, but we're also looking at getting a complete classic/Satellite Justice League as well!

Last time I checked, my Walmart had tons of Hawkmans. All they had was Hawkmans and Killer Moths. Let me know if you want me to check for you! Unless you're one of those "thrill of the hunt" kinda collectors.

I 'preciate the offer dude but my hunt has ended. After work, I went to another Wal Mart and stumbled upon plenty of Hawkmen, Killer Moths, Capt. Marvels, MM's and a few Dr. Impossible's. I'm so glad I checked that location. At lunch, I went to the WalMart in the shopping center across the highway from the TRU and Target near the job and scored a Blue Beetle and two Movie Masters Scarecrows for $1.50 apiece (WW, Firestorm reissue, Big Barda, MM and Capt. Cold were there also).Sometimes I am one of those "thrill of the hunt" dudes but I was starving like Marvin and didn't really want to go to the other four Wal Marts this evening, lol. I bought two Hawkmen and the Killer Moth with the best paint job. The two of them look so cool. I wonder if they'll do a Hawkman w/removable helmet.

He-Ro666, are those Captain Marvels the ones with the stand or the Kalibak piece? If they're the ones with the Kalibak piece, let me know if you're open to a trade.

All of the ones I've seen so far have included Kalibak pieces, yes. And yes, trades are welcomed I put my Kalibak together last night. He looks like Blastaar's brother from another mother, lol.

OMG!!!! Are they even allowed to do that with an action figure? I'm not complaining she's perfect, but her umm.. chest is kind of big. I know she is supposed to be like that, but I thought they would have to turn it down a bit for the toy. The Horsemen Rule!!

    Look what arrived today!

    YAY!

I got the classic Dr. Fate which is the one I wanted! If I see the gold armor version in stores, I'll pick one up, but THIS is the one I most wanted. Odd note, on the back of the card, there's no mention of Kent Nelson. Under Secret Identity, it says "None." Weird. Also, on Hawkgirl's card, the origin is... accurate I guess, but there's no mention of Shayera Hall from Thanagar, just Princess Chayara being reincarnated repeatedly. I mean, all the Hawkgirls are connected, but it feels a tad incomplete.

Interesting detail, the plastic tray that Vigilante comes in is embossed with little bullseyes. Steel's has star stripes. None of the others has any embossing, nor have i noticed any previous characters with embossed trays. I think it MAY be because these are two of the most obscure characters made thus far, so their trying to make them as appealing as possible to a casual buyer. (???) Who knows?

My case included both Parademons, but the one I most wanted was the Super Powers style red one. He looks positively vampiric! One negative, look at those great claws! But he comes with a gun and neither hand is cupped to hold it. Also, the green Parademon came with the same gun in addition to his other big green cannon/club/gun. But that gun is a two-fister, so now I have TWO of the little yellow handguns with not one single hand to hold them. Bit of a waste, no?

I'm a tad disappointed in mini-Atom. I'm glad to have one, but he's a solid peice, no joints at all so he's stuck in this basic pose. The problem with that is I pose my figures on the shelf in action scenarios, so having a figure that just has to stand there looks odd. I have the same issue with Big Barda. Her skirt makes it impossible even move her legs, so she's stuck standing there, while everyone else is flying and fighting.

Also a bit let down with Hawkgirl, just because she has no head mobility and she's sort of looking down. I guess if I display her as flying, it makes sense that she's looking down at her foe. (Lots of these figures seem to be looking down or slouching, I've noticed.)

And I'm really happy to have so many JSA figures in one set. Now Atom Smasher doesn't have to be lonely! Gentleman Ghost is FANTASTIC! I love the translucent sections! Brilliant sculpt! Now I can't wait to see that Joker figure utilizing it!

Overall, very nice set! I'm happy!

NICE!!!! I can't wait to find that wave. Also, I think on of those guns that come with one of the Parademons is a gun that is suppose to go with Kalibak. I think the 4H said they put it in with one of the parademons to have it included.

Nice! I can't wait to get this wave, mostly for the villains!

By the by, Flash & Kid Flash both have "running streaks" on their blisters to simulate running lines from the comics (a la Vigilante's bullseyes). I think the Flashes are the first ones to benefit from this.

What makes this wave particularly appealing to me is that I only have DCD versions of Dr. Fate and Hawkgirl...the other figures are all brand-new to my shelves!

Now that you've said that, it's the green Parademon. His gun/club thing looks just like the club that Super Powers Kalibak came with!

I didn't notice it on the Flashes! I wonder why only some of them have it though. Can't think of anything else to put on the others?

To be honest, it's the first time that a lot of these have ever been made as figures, so I'm sure that's the case with a lot of people. They're all really nice! I actually really like that they made Vigilante, because he was planned for the fourth year of Super Powers. Going back to the last wave, I also really liked that Booster and Aquaman in the blue costume came out together, because their series were both advertised the same month back in... hmmm 84? 85? Something like that. Their ads ran in every DC Comic that month and then, years later, their action figures were part of the same wave. Very cool, if you ask me!

Quick suggestion on the Barda skirt: try partially cutting it on the sides to allow for more leg mobility, similiar to the way the DCSH Lex Luthor's "skirt" was cut. Way back when, my DCSH Luthor had one side of the skirt that actually wasn't cut at the factory, and I had to do it myself. Learn from my experience: use especially sharp scissors so you get a very clean cut!

On a side note, one of the TRUs in my area got in wave 7! I got the last two figures: Barda and Captain Cold, which were the ones I wanted the most from the wave, but I'm still looking for Booster and Beetle.

And as awesome as PG looks, I have this sinking feeling that the final product will be just as skeletal-looking as Wonder Woman. It's really a shame how the pantagraphing process ruins the female sculpts.

That would be my guess...they could have put icicles or something on Captain Cold, I suppose, but that'd be kind of unnecessary. I guess they're just doing it where it seems like a neat little 'easter egg' kind of thing. I wouldn't be surprised to see the bulls-eyes on Deadshot's packaging in Wave 9, either.

The DCUC line is definitely paying major homage to the SP line, and I think the '80s Vigilante is part of that. So I wouldn't be surprised to see others in the non-released Wave 4 of SP to show up as well. (Heck, we already know about Man-Bat!)

A friend of mine and I have Wave 8 on order with CSC....I really hope they get theirs in soon! (And, of course, can ship them out without problems!)

I gotta get both Parademons too.

the red one just because I'm a SP nutter, and the green one for my Secret Six display.
