I think the logic is that these are the 'big guns' - most of whom were easy(or easier) to find at retail - Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc., and Mattel wants to keep them on the shelves. Plus, packing them into cases or along with new waves means we aren't sacrificing new characters for the sake of having a 'wave anchor'.

But putting in the C&C piece (which would cost Mattel more) is kind of superfluous a year or more after the figure's original release - for example, if Green Lantern were to be rereleased next year still having Grundy's limb, people buying it at that point wouldn't be able to get the rest of the Grundy figure as the Wave 3 figs are now unavailable.

I understand your point about the benefit of tracking down a sought-after figure, but again I think the logic is that the "WGSH"-type characters are the easiest ones to find.

SCORE! Just got the whole set of wave 10 and my Wal-mart still has at least one more set left maybe 2.

This is odd to see them have several boxes, when so many waves they didn't get at all.

finally completed wave 9 today

though i cant complete chemo till xmas as the black adam figure is a present for my brother

this was a good wave, shame about wave 10- just like wave 5 we UK fans wont be able to get them. i love the DCUC figs and i would love to get more but i may have to stop once the price goes up- its a shame but i cant justify the price

by the way if anyones intrested i got the complete wave 9 at forbidden planet in london- £16.99 each (they had a couple of variant wildcats and robot mantis figs last time i was there)

Target is starting to get cases that are a mix of wave 8 and 9. I looked through 2 cases and saw they had the following 1 Black Canary, 1 Green Arrow, 1 Parademon, 1 Hawk Girl and 1 Dr.Fate. I'm not sure what else was in them, except no Gentleman Ghost, Mantis or Wild Cat.

I'll complain about Huntress and TOYMAN! The only missing member of The Legion of Doom! (after Cheeta of course)

And I wouldn't mind a Ras' Al Ghul and Scarface either.

And please tell me they're not reissuing Booster Gold in wave 14. He's already clogging Target shelves in my area...

Jemm, Son of Saturn was the star of a miniseries around 1985 or so. Grant Morrison used him in JLA story, jokingly as the "archenemy" of Martian Manhunter in the Injustice League, since Martian Manhunter didn't really have an archenemy. But Jemm was being used against his will, so he wasn't really a villain.

If Obsidian is in Wave 14, along with Hourman, the Green Lantern listed could be Alan Scott. Likewise, I assume the Starman from Wave 15 is Thom Kallor, in his current costume.

Pharaoh is the head scratcher for me... Is that the GOLDEN Pharaoh from Super Powers?!

Thank you Wonderboy. I have "Rock of ages" saga but never realized about the character's name nor true origin, too many things happening at once on those issues.

I as well think that is Golden Pharaoh from Super Powers collection, since Cyclotron, Steppenwolf, Desaad among others are being released. In this trend, it should be included Samurai, Tyr, a re-released Orion with Super Powrers armor, Plastic Man, El Dorado & Crisis Supergirl.

Based on what I can figure:

Jemm is going to be a variant on Martian Manhunter - so Plastic Man will also be in that wave.

Gold is Gold of the Metal Men.

Golden Pharaoh & Tyr are for the Super Powers completist

There've been rumors of a Kyle Rayner figure upcoming, so my guess is he's pretty likely for the GL in Wave 14.

One thing to note, though - the UPCs jump a series, so these numbers may correspond to Wave 14 and 16 (Raven could, in theory, be pushed back a wave, as Question was), and the missing UPCs could be another Wal-Mart wave, unfortunately.

Still, if this list ends up being real, I'm pretty happy with it. Now I just need a Poison Ivy, Toyman, Fire, Ice and Zauriel off my most-wanted list!

I'm guessing Alan Scott to tie in the rest of that wave with Hourman & Obsidian. Of course it COULD end up being Kyle Rayner. I doubt it'll be Guy Gardner based on the name on the list. (Probably saving him for a future wave with Fire & Ice)

Gold from the Metal Men makes sense, with Iron in Wave 12, as Mattel seems intent to get them & Doom Patrol finished up. Guess that means the C&C from one of the waves will probably be Elasti-Girl.

I doubt Jemm will be a Martian Manhunter variant, as he has his own UPC number. I bet if they do a variant for J'onn, it'll just be a phasing version.

My guesses for variants are:

Wave 14
Zatanna (70% top hat & fishnets - 30% Perez costume)
Hourman (50/50 split - Rex Tyler/Rick Tyler)

Wave 15
Martian Manhunter (70% standard - 30% phasing)
Starman (50/50 spilt - Ted Knight/Jack Knight)

Dont forget Martian manhunter could have 3 possibles-
1. his normal "beetlebrow" look
2. his martian form
3. his post-IC look

hopefully if we get a kyle rayner we get his current suit and a variant of his original costume

I really hope we dont get another walmart wave!!!!!! It sucks i havent been able to get 2 waves at all let alone possilbly a third one!

I like that list. I hope we get those figures. And I echo the sentiment of hope that Walmart does not get another exclusive wave. My Walmart does not even have peg space for the DC Universe Classics. I have not seen a figure there in months. Any Wave 10 figures that have come through were likely pilfered in the stock room.

I just realized there isn't a villain in Wave 15. Wonder if that has any significance. What does the SC after Batman's name mean? I'm drawing a blank, but I'm not thrilled about yet another Batman in the series. I understand why they do it, but they're worthless to me. At this point, I've removed all the variant Batmen and Supermen from my shelves.

The C&C for Wave 15 could be a villain. A lot of rumors going around that Doomsday will be redone.

As far as Batman SC goes, I think it's either Sinestro Corps or Superman Composite. (Of course, it could also just mean stupid costume or silly costume....)

They think that the Martian Manhunter wave is actually Wave 16, and Wave 15 will be another Wal-Mart wave. Here's the line-up info they're listing:

Phantom Stranger
Felix Faust
Platinum (w/Tin pack-in)
Samurai
Hawk (Hank Hall)
Dove (Don Hall)

While there's a total lack of a headliner/SuperBats character in that wave, I'd LOVE all of those. (Probably least excited for the Metal Men, as I know next to nothing about them) Seeing as how they only list 6 figures, I'm sure the unnamed 7th figure will be more of an A-lister. You're missing Lead (also of the Metal Men), supposedly in this wave too. This is a OK line-up - but I'm assuming maybe Wal-Mart will start getting the WGSH in their boxes too, because there's no headliner, and I can't see them not having a Supes/Bats character.

One thing bugs me, though - in the three leaked waves, there are a total of what, 3 villains? Tyr, Felix Faust, maybe Starro or Doomsday as a C&C?
