Which episodes do u remember from your childhood ?

When i got my DVD set, and i watched the episodes, i instantly recognised some things which i remember watching when i was 7 years old.
Now, i certainly could not remember an entire episode, but i did recall something.

Here's the episodes i remember, and what i remembered from it.

    Eternal Darkness
    I just remember Tabor.

    The Taking of Grayskull
I remember when He-man was in the other dimension, and that red light "object" was following him, which turned out to be his sword.

    Golden Disks of Knowledge
I remember the part where the jawbridge of Grayskull went completely crazy, and the rest of the Castle.

    The Remedy
I remember the tactril, and how it swooped down to He-man to give him a ride.

So, how about the rest of you ?

PS. After reading the messages in this thread, i seem to recall Fisto and Fisto's forest,in my child days

I remember various bits from each one, and the more I watch episodes, I get hazy bits of "oh yeah, I remember that" and flashbacks to my childhood watching it.
    Ones I particularly remember include:

    • I remember "Diamond Ray of Disappearance"; as discussed on a previous thread, the early episodes were repeated 1987-ish in a Sunday morning slot. I remember watching it even as a novice kid and realising that this was "the first one", with Skeletor summoning his warriors from around the Universe. In fact, I remember the first 8 or 9 episodes vividly and following along with them in the Panini sticker book - particularly the breath-taking "Teela's Quest", along with "Colossor Awakes" and "The Dragon Invasion".
    • "The Mystery of Man-E-Faces" - I recall it because I loved the Man-E figure and mini-comic, and it suck in my mind as a kid for being one of the rare episodes to feature him.
    • "Return of the Gryphon" - For some reason the plot of young Philip finding the jewel and thinking it made him important stuck with me for a long time.
    • "Fisto's Forest" - Stuck in my mind for being an origin story for the giant-fisted warrior, and unusual for being told almost entirely in flash-back (like "The Mystery of Man-E-Faces"). As discussed in recent thread, even as a kid I didn't like this one!
    • "The Shadow of Skeletor" - Most vividly I remember Adam being faced with having to transform into He-Man in front of Teela, with "By the...", then the danger passing, and him resolving it with "By the way Teela, remind me to show you my new jacket when we get back to the Palace".
    • "Betrayal of Stratos" - I'm not sure why; I just remembered this one for a long time as a boy. I particularly remember Stratos accidentally landing in the Karock's nest - don't ask me why!!
    • "Into the Abyss" - as with many, it stuck in my mind for not being a villain-driven story, instead focusing on a different peril.
    • "Battlecat" - I remembered it for a welcome look at Adam, Teela and Cringer when they were younger; and also being rather disappointed by Battle Cat's first adventure, and that it wasn't against Skeletor.
    • "The Time Wheel" - A few years after the series had finished it's main run, the series was repeated in school holiday mornings. One Summer holiday we were away in Cornwall, and I remember sitting and watching this (much under-rated) episode and remembering why I loved the series so very much.
    • "The Problem With Power" - Well, who doesn't remember it! Just the whole concept totally blew me away; it is deservedly an all-time fan favourite.
    • "Teela's Triumph" - I remember this episode as really tying in to the whole daughter-of-the-Sorceress thread, and really loving it. U.K. wise, I seem to recall it being one of the last episodes shown, and I thought it book-ended the series quite well.
    • "Happy Birthday Roboto" - again, due to a rare character appearance, and a different origin story to the mini-comic.
    • "Monster on the Mountain" - I don't remember it for being a particularly bad episode as many do, but just thinking that it felt more like a 'She-Ra: Princess of Power' episode (bear in mind that, in the U.K., She-Ra rotated a slot with MOTU before MOTU had finished it's run), and it representing how the series had become rather childish as opposed to the wondeful early episodes. I don't know why, but for ages the villagers name "Emma" stuck in my mind.
    • "Mistaken Identity" - stuck in my mind for featuring the only Horde member in the series - Modulok, and with an origin story.

I also remembered several Dree Elle stories, but they had blurred into one over the years. I particularly recall the shadows of Orko and Dree Elle revealing their faces to each other at the end of "Dawn of Dragoon".

...Woah, I didn't realise that I remembered so many!!

Actually, I don't remember "The Problem With Power" from my childhood!

It was broadcast 5th February 1988 in the UK, and yet for some reason I never managed to catch it - And it was one of the few episodes that was not repeated during the summer mornings...

That's why when we first started talking about He-Man on the Internet none of us believed that such an episode had existed - Bear in mind back then the community was only about one-hundred or so people...

I don't actually remember watching any of the orginal series funnily enough, I remember watching the New Adventures regularly though.

I do remember watching Secret of the Sword though, especially when Hordak burst out of the cake!

Woah, it must be Hailey's Commet passing over, because for once I know something that you don't, Busta, hehe - "The Problem With Power" was repeated in the holiday mornings. I remember it clearly, because I used to go and spend the morning at my Grandparents' house in the holidays while my parents were at work. I remember "The Problem With Power" beginning at 9:25 a.m., and watcing the beginning of it while my Mum got ready, and then having to go half-way through it (not sure why I didn't record it that day), as I really wanted to see the ending again.
It did cross my mind that it might have been a regional variation, but as far as I know all of the Children's ITV holiday output was networked. But it was definately on (I might even have the particular TV Times for it somewhere).

Ahh yes... the dawn of the He-Man community. Those long long lonely years when I thought I was the only one left on the planet who still liked Masters Of The Universe. Then I got an internet connection in the mid-late 1990s, and my life changed.

Since I had only caught around only 40 He-Man episodes when I was little, I was able to remember almost all of them when I re-watched them. At least I did have some flashbacks of them.

A new avatar Mike Bock?? What is it? And your location is "in the sewers"...? If you find the TMNT there, let me know and I 'll come and join you

I know I used to watch He-Man and She-Ra when I was little but I have no clue as to which eps. There are only two eps I remember from my childhood and that is because of a tape I had. Happy Birthday Roboto and Battle of the Dragons.

That tape got many watches. I have to say, I bought it again a while back and I have never...in my life experianced such a strong and overwhelming sense of nostalgia. It was absolutly wonderful

I should just mention when I created my first He-Man website in 1996 I had a section called something like Help me remember..., which listed my vague recollections of episodes of which I didn't know the titles of!

    As an example:

    * Yellow robot runs around the Royal Palace, which later turned out to be "Return of Evil"

    and

    * Prince Adam attempts to become He-Man but falls through trap door in snow, which turned out to be "The Region of Ice"

That is SO cool - I had no idea they had repeated that episode - I remember them repeating "The Gambler" twice, but not many other 1985 episodes - Having said that I did managed to obtain "Orko's New Friend" and "The Eternia Flower" and they're VERY close to "The Problem With Power" - I guess I must've just missed it...

The biggest He-Man repeat oddity happened when This Morning aired a repeat of "A Trip to Morainia" quite unexpectedly...

I have a question... you are already really REALLY young. How young exactly were you when the original He-Man was aired? -15 yrs old?

    The Taking of Grayskull

    Stone in the Sword
    Loo-Kee's Sweety
    Gateway To Trouble
    Price of Power
    Flowers for Hordak
    Huntara
    Unexpected Ally
    Return of the General
    Glimmer's Story
    Anxious Apprentice

One of my best He-Man cartoon-related memories (I should make this a Blog post) was when my parents and I were coming back from holiday...We were a little late, so the episode had already begun - I rushed into the front room of our house, turned on the TV, and as the TV warmed up the first image I saw was this...

...and we all know what happened next!

    Hi,

The episodes that I most remember are:

    The Diamond Ray of Disappearance
    Teelaīs Quest
    The Problem with the Power

The Diamond Ray of Disappearance, the scene that I remember the most was the one with He-Man trying to destroy the diamond.

Teelaīs Quest, I had a memory, not back when they were airing the show on TV here on Mexico, but one day I was at home watching "Gremlins 2" and my mother came and she stop by the Video Club, and She rented me a tape of He-Man, I was so happy, I even remember the cover of the box, the cover was the pic of He-Man in the transformation scene, something like this:

Skeletor wasnīt there, just He-Man and the lightning, with a blue background.

I really donīt remember how many episodes were on the vhs, but I remember one of them was "Teelaīs Quest".

And finally "The Problem with the Power", with this one I remember it back when they were airing the series on Mexico, before I had Internet, before I knew about the org, before I joined you guys, and of course before I have the DVDs, I had memories of a He-Man episode(which I didnīt remember its name), memories that were from an episode that was MY FAVORITE, the memories were about two scenes:

    - The excellent scene on the Grayskull Tower, when He-Man transforms back to Adam, I remember that scene because was the only time we can se the back Transformation, I also recall very well the part when Adam throws his sword, here are a couple of pics of the exact moments that I remember from then:

I also recall the scene when the sword is falling.

    - And the other scene was one where Adam was trap on a Spider Web and he was trying to reach for his sword:

This last one I remember very well because after the episode ended, I was so exited about it, that I started to play and I remember doing that scene XD

The thing is that with "The Problem with the Power", I only watched one time, but since then it was my favorite episode, years later, when I have Internet access I started to look for some He-Man info. and I found three sites, one was this one, the other was grayskull.org, and the other was the episode review site of Busta Toons and Zadok(that was his nickname right?)and on that site is where I found more about that episode that I loved, and to my surprise, that episode was the favorite of many many fans(I have good taste on things ^^), in fact it made it to the Hall of Fame.

It took me years to see that episode again, I download a couple of audio files(I donīt remember where I found them, I think it was on Busta Toons site... but Iīm not sure) until I found a website(sundayfunniesllc was its name) that had some VHS of He-Man and She-ra, I bought one from She-Ra with the episodes "She-Ra Unchained" and "The Price of Freedom" and one tape of He-Man with the episodes "The Origin of Man-E-Faces" and "The Problem With The Power", at last could watch that episode again, but I couldnīt watched the episode in Spanish like when I was a kid, but Thanks to BCI DVDs I can do it any time I want ^^

    Later..

The only ones that stood out to me and I remembered truly from my childhood were:

    Not So Blind
    SOTS
    The Stone in the Sword

Everything else was a fuzzy blur of images. I didn't even remember the names of the eps listed above!

The Christmas Special actually... It's the one that I remember the best! I did see some eps in my early teens, but that was quite a few years after the shows golden age, and my childhood was almost over.

It just had to - It's been so long, but I think it was the first episode we ever put in there!

    Adam did a tap dance?

I wonder what "A Trip to Morainia" was doing in the middle of 'This Morning'. It must have been unbilled, as I missed that one. It used to be great in the school holidays when you could turn on the television in the mornings and see such favourites (even though my mom hated me watching tv in the daytime and tried to turf me outside - even if it was raining! )

Anyway, this week's episode review thread, "The Rainbow Warrior", reminded me of one more remembered episode / scene - at the end, when Adam asked why she freed him first, and she finished with the line "I've always been very proud of you, Adam". How could I forget that one?!

Going off on a slight tangent, is it true Musculor (or anyone else in the know), that originally in France no episodes featuring Skeletor were shown, as he was considered too hideous for children, or is it just an urban myth? I heard this mentioned a couple of times but have heard much to the contrary.

This is an urban legend !!!

All you must know is that in France nearly 85 episodes were dubbed and only around 65 were aired on TV. In the 20 episodes that weren't aired there was some episodes featuring Skeletor. For the DVD release all the undubbed episodes were dubbed with a brand new dubbing (only he-man voice was the same , the dubbing actor was called back 20 years to dub those episodes).

So now every body please keep this in mind , THE SKELETOR THING IN FRANCE IS AN URBAN LEGEND !!!

In the 80's in France , some episodes featuring skeletor were aired , "The Problem With Power" , "The Royal Cousin" , "Daimar The Demon" come to my mind

There are two episodes I have always carried memories of and were the episodes I was most looking forward to when I heard MOTU was coming out on DVD:

To Save Skeletor - Sh'Gora creeped me out as a kid and was a far greater evil than Skeletor. I liked seeing the villains and heroes team up to take out an even greater enemy.

    &

The Good Shall Survive - Tycor seemed pretty cool, I wish he would've stayed around as another hero and got his own figure.

After watching the DVD sets, the only other episodes that I somewhat remembered were the House of Shokoti I & II. I was born in '81, so I too young to watch first-run episodes anyway, just whatever was still in syndication in the mid-late 80s.
"Of course, that's just my opinion... I could be wrong."

I hate to admit it, but even though I watched He-Man every single day that it was on (along with my dad who was in his early 20s at the time!!!) I don't remember a single actual episode from that time. I have plenty of TOY memories, but all my episode-related classic cartoon memories are fairly recent.
