You would have to be totally mad or insanely rich to open a very rare carded figure, especially Spinnerella.
I can't see the point in opening carded figures when it's cheaper to pick up the loose versions. If you don't like figures carded just don't buy them. Look for loose complete instead.
Some people like the 'new' look a figure has when it's still carded reminding them of the way it looked on the shelf in the shops when they were first out.
With my Thundercats collection I've never opened a carded figure at all. All my loose figures are either from when I was a kid or ones I bought loose complete on Ebay.
Of course if money were no object ripping them off the cards wouldn't be an issue.

So do you have every POP figure carded Carlo? (I'm not a huge fan of the She-ra figures, but I do like hearing about/seeing peoples collections of rare carded figures)

The thing that got me back to the forum was when I scrolled down the forum home page and the newest post in this forum was about voting for the 10 best She-ra episodes. How could I resist voting on that?
The thing with this forum is that it centers on the toyline more than the cartoon, so usually when I do visit it's just for cartoon related discussion.
I like seeing peoples collection displays though and Rachael's post was top of the forum.
