    he-man swing set?

Was there a he-man themed swing set from the 1980s?

I seem to remember an add for one that had a ride-able Battle Cat swing and a Castle Grayskull on top. Anyone know about this? Anyone got pics?

I remember the Battle cat swing, it is actually a rather sought after item. I think it was put out by sears but recalled due to lead in the paint. I have little ones two which is why I have heald off on getting one when I see one...

The swing and the bounce on battle cat are two different things. The swingset did have a Battle Cat swing, but it was not the same as the BAttle Cat bounce-on.

I had the swingset as a kid, parents threw it away when the bottoms started to rust. (Like every other swingset we had)

I have never seen one for sale on ebay, or in anyone's collection. I do know there is a picture somewhere around here. I will post it if I can find it.

Here is the only picture I have of the swingset. As pain said, I do not know of anyone that still has one of these. VERY RARE!! If you have a better picture Pain I would love to add it to my collection.

Nah Jeremy, that's the pic that I was talking about.

I saved it from Arnaud's (I think) pics

I have been trying to look through my old family albums, and see if I have any old pics of me on the set. I will post them, if I ever find them.

The bike is not that rare, it pops up on ebay occasionally. Usually between $75-$125. It is the s/h that will bite you. Actually I think a board member here, Igorr has one for sale if you are truly interested. Give him a PM.

    ey Jeffrey,

first, a question. Is this yours?

2nd a statement. For later posts, all active ebay threads have to be placed in the sale forums, not the discussion forums.

Third another question. Do you have the Swingset for sale?

    Had to ask.

That's my problem right now, so much stuff and no room to show it off. It's all sitting in storage right now.

Hey, first off i'm new here so I hope i'm following the rules right. 2nd I found this website off a two disc dvd Best of He-Man set in a 5.50 bin at Wallyworld. I'm glad I did. I grew up on this stuff. I had all the He-Man stuff back then at least I thought. Since I bought the dvd my kids especially my son have been obsessed with it and trying to memorize it and everything. I had to run out and buy the closest thing to a sword I could find so he can run around claiming he has the power...Anyways...this thread in particular caught my eye. The Battle Cat bounce-on toy like the old spring horses...I had no idea that existed til a few days ago on ebay. I haven't had a chance to truly study the site and read up on things. So i'll take the newb er shortcut and ask how rare that particular item is or if there are some places still to find it? I really miss the old He-Man. Those were the days. I'd rush home from school everyday to watch He-Man and She-Ra. This is just exciting. Anyways nice to meet you all.

    Welcome to the forum!

We are all a friendly bunch so you should fit right in. As for the swing set, afraid I can't help.

I didn't really have any MOTU stuff like that as a kid.
8 figures I still need: 8/Perfuma (for completeness of POP ONLY!), 7/Filmation Tung Lashor, 6/Saurod, 5/Sprag, Sprocker and Spritina, 4/Peekablue, 3/Hunga the Harpy, 2/Filmation Clawful, 1/Dylamug.

I have no clue on the swing-set either. That was something else I'd never heard of. It's interesting.

Ok thank you JMB...the bounce-on I'd seen on ebay and it was at 99 dollars. I watched it thinking if it relists then I'd go for it. I wasn't sure about it since I'd never heard of it before. Then re-list price was 249. Now i'm kicking myself. The only thing that held me back initially was that the guy wouldn't give out any shipping info til you won. With the re-list he finally put a price to it. Anyways thanks for responding.

That's the set that I had as a kid. (I also had the bike pictured in the earlier ad). The only thing I can remember differently about my swingset compared to the one in the ad is that all of the ladder steps were white on mine instead of the blue shown in the ad.

    He- man swing set!!

Hello everyone, I am Tanner, a new member here. I was reading an thread from this website a while back, when I noticed something about a He-Man swing set. No one could find any pics other than the original Sears advertisement. It got me thinking back to my childhood, as I indeed had the large Sears swing set. I think I got it in 1985, just a few years after my brother was born. The crazy thing is, I spoke to my father about it, and he told me to come over. When I got there, in his building was the ORIGINAL SWING BATTLE-CAT!!!! The paint is faded, but the cat and its structure are perfect, with only minor scratches from play and no cracks or beaks whatsoever. Its easy to tell it was the original for several reasons, one, unlike the "bouncy" version, it does NOT have wholes in its head for handles. You had to hold onto the SADDLE, something in SURE that would not be allowed now, i'm sure todays it have seat belts, Also, I still have the original swing part that connected to the top part of the main swing set, which i just kept for verification and reference. I removed it because it had rusted quite a bit in a few places. Anyways, my point is can anyone give me an idea of what its worth? I have a few ideas, and I have spoken to some collectors in my area, but I thought I would come here to the He-Man world and share this with you and get your thoughts. Thanks so much, and I am glad to finally discover and join this community!

    Tanner,
Welcome to the forums and pictures really help in setting value as it gives us a better idea of the item and then can look at them to set a price based on condition, color, damage, etc.

    Thanks for the welcome Aeolus,

Here are some pics of the battle cat. As you can see its just as I stated before. The paint is worn almost completely, but the actual cat is in near mint shape. This is perfect for someone who wants a super rare item, or even wants to restore it. I also included a pic of the original swing parts that held the cat onto the swing set. I have been torn over if I want to sell it, or have it repainted and use it as a booth draw at toy shows. Just let me know! 2013-04-09 14.17.05.jpg2013-04-10 12.18.02.jpg2013-04-10 12.18.16.jpg2013-04-10 12.18.20.jpg2013-04-10 12.18.32.jpg
