Blast Attack is part of the Snake Men! Just look at the classic Minicomic
Blast Attack is one of Skeletors Warriors! Always was and always will be.
I wonder in which direction the horsemen will go if they produce a new Blast Attack Staction. Would they make him one of Skeletors minions (like in the classic toy line) or one of the Snake Men (like in the classic Mini Comic). What would you prefer?
I think both alternatives would be okay for me, but I would prefer him being a Snake Men. With only 6 Warriors they are still the smallest group in the MotU universe and they could need 1 more warrior. And I like the Classic Minicomic, where he was one of them. So I think it would be a good idea if the Horsemen would give him a Snake Logo and a little bid more "snakey" design than the classic figure had.
He isn't a snake man but he is definitely part of the snakemen.
He was created by King Hiss so to me he will always be part of that faction.
The mini explained that and I will always stay with that origin.
I hope the 4H sculpt a snake symbol somewhere in his body.

1) Blast Attak was never a Snakeman. He was clearly packaged as an Evil Warrior.
2) The Snakemen suck
3) The minicomic which featured him as such was merely a cost cutting measure. Why make a new comic to explain BA when we can just randomly dump him somewhere else?

5) How does a faction with zero technological background or know-how suddenly concieve a cybernetic demolitions expert?
6) He doesn't even LOOK like a Snake. There is nothing in his design that even vaguely evokes a snake-like feel.
7) And the Snakemen suck!
People who say certain characters should never be remade is stupid. Throw rocks at them.
I support Filmation characters for MOTUC! Let Mattel know it's worth their while to get the rights to those characters!

That poster was proof to me, and Skeletor had enough gimmick characters laying around and the Snake Men needed someone that stood out.
Oh and in the Mini Comic he was created by King Hiss, but really takes no sides (such as Kobra Kahn)...

I was going to comment on how he could be the Boba Fett of MOTU, but I reserve that title to Blade. Than again the movie villians were bounty hunters... Now I am confused...

@Rook: Most of your arguments are good, but I don't agree with the points 2,4 and 7.
I agree that he doesn't look like a snake. So I think it would be a cool idea if the Horsemen would give his face a more snakelike style when sculpting a new Staction. His face is green anway and it is damn ugly. Imagine him with a face similar to Snake Face. I think this would look great! In the new cartoon the Snake Men had no knowledge of technologie but take a look at the minicomics. In a flashback you can see Snake Men wearing futuristic armor and using laser weapons. So there is room for different interpretations.
Have you guys looked at the toy that closely? His helmet is a snake head. Look closer.

Well, don't get me wrong. I'm the biggest fan of Blast Attack being a Snake Man but I'm not sure if his helmet is a proof of that. I looked very close at it when I've build my 200x Blast Attack custom. There are some red eyes on this helmet but not much more. It's up to your interpretation what it is.
By the way: This was my Blast Attack interpretation for 200x. The custom figure shows how I would imagine his look for the 200x line.

Kahn used to be one of Skeletor's warriors and then became a Snake Man. Why can't Blast Attack be part of both groups?
Blast Attack was created by Hiss and started with the Snakes then moved to Skeletors forces.

Toward the later mini-comics, Skeletor pretty much used the Snake Men as his own henchmen anyway. Either way, Blast Attack was at his disposal.

I always saw him as a Snake Man (as per the mini-comics) as well as his helmet.
Personally, I thought it was a given and that they simply made the judgment error of not packaging him with the Snake Logo, etc. Like the packaging was an afterthought.
Classic he was part of the snakemen but in the new I think it would be best if he was an evil warrior created by Tri-Klops.
