    Wander over yonder "he-man" references

    Hi everyone

I dont know if anyone here has been watching Disney's Wander Over Yonder but there have been a few classic He-Man references in a couple of episodes

Last night there was an episode called "The Cartoon" which had loads of shout outs to He-Man & Filmation cartoons

Here is the opening to the cartoon of the title https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNyzqD7QnAE

The show is really funny and I recommend it for animation fans

Keith Lemon Sketch Show (UK TV show)

The new series of Keith Lemon Sketch show has He-man segments.

Now, I generally don't get on well with his humour but I dunno, I'm really liking the Sketch show.

Please be aware that Keith Lemon can be very coarse in his use of bad language and this is definitely a form of British humour that only some will enjoy.

Still, I think the He-man sketches are hilarious. Maybe this should just be confined to the UK. Not sure how well it travels outside of the country

    Pixels movie and He-man?

I just watched the Adam Sandler movie Pixels. I noticed in the credits that they thank Mattel for the use of He-man and the Masters of the Universe. I don't remember seeing a He-man reference. Did I miss it or is it on the cutting room floor?

I don't recall seeing anything either. Maybe it was at the beginning, when they were showing the characters as kids? Did they show someone's bedroom?

LOL! You think his addiction is a reference to our addiction???
"I wouldn't be surprised if this movie has Adam as a skinny nerd from Earth battling another skinny nerd-hacker from Earth that used an alias of Keldor. They then enter Tron-style to a cyber world called Eternia, where they control muscle-bound avatars to battle (called He-Man and Skeletor). And these same avatars come to life and continue to battle in present-day Earth." - VZX

1990 animated pilot for Mattel's "Computer warriors":

Interesting how it's the vintage toy rather than NA one.

Just finished watching Stranger Things on Netflix which was really good. There were a couple of MOTU appearances in amongst the wall to wall 80s nostalgia throughout the series.

Last Saturday's episode of Svengoolie, which featured the original pilot of Star Trek, also featured an episode of the Filmation series. While the host was revealing some trivia about the series, there were pictures of Superman, the Archies, and He-Man.

When they first started the story, I thought it was news that the film was officially cancelled so I gasped and almost had a "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" moment. Then when they were insinuating She-Ra killed him I was all "WHAT?!"

It was pretty funny and came out of nowhere. You can watch full episodes on their site, so it will be there if you want to see it.

    Interesting story, I should say.
Unfortunately, not even a single episode can be found on YouTube.
I wonder where you can find them on the Net.

TV's "Webster"...and the Masters of the Universe!

So I watch reruns of the '80s sitcoms Webster on cable, and recently they showed an episode that featured a slew of MOTU toys! Check it out!:

A few non-discernible figures at left, then Fisto, Two-Bad, Tri-Klops (blocked by chair), Syklone, Mantenna, Leech, and Hordak:

    Webster 1.jpg

Katherine holding Two-Bad at left, Webster holding He-Man (Hordak's crossbow at bottom right, lol):

    Webster 2.jpg

Again from L a few non-discernible figures, then Fisto, Two-Bad, Tri-Klops, Syklone, Mantenna, Leech, Webster holding He-Man, Hordak:

    Webster 3.jpg

From left Two-Bad, Syklone, Mantenna, Webster with He-Man, Leech, Hordak:

    Webster 4.jpg

Webster introducing his egg Chester to He-Man (the egg is his baby for a class project, lol):

    Webster 5.jpg

George finds He-Man in the egg carton (where Webster absent-mindedly put him the night before). He finds He-Man in there and quips, "I always thought chickens laid these things!":

    Webster 6.jpg

And He-Man's final moment in the episode:

lol, thanks Lich...I love my nostalgic '80s sitcoms, and was stunned to see a whole gang of MOTU figures on his table! lol...and he actually spoke "to" He-Man, when introducing him to his egg Chester (lol)...that's pretty cool to have him referenced by name and included in the action! ha
