Live-action or cartoon or CGI movie?

What kind of movie would you like to see?

    * Live action, like the 1987 movie?

    * Or a cartoon like 'The Secret Of The Sword'?

    * Or totally compuer generated?

Personally I'd like to see live action (with CGI effects). Actually, as I've said on several other threads, I'd love to see a live action TV series in the vein of 'Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Of course we want a live movie!
It's kind of a no brainer isn't it?

    Agreed.

We've had enough MOTU cartoons. And I am not a fan of pure cgi. If they want to do that, they might as well just make it a cartoon.

I haven't seen the CGI Turtles movie yet, but I can't say I'm over-keen on the idea.

I think we should see the upcoming Beowulf movie before ruling it out.

Beowulf looks like it will suffer from the same problems as Final Fantasy or Polar Express. Stiffness and lack of subtle expression.

Live action - if done right it would be the best bet. also it has the potential to bring in the most money, as I 've said before, if Transformers was all animated (cgi or 2d) it wouldn't have made ANYWHERE near the amount of $$ that it did.

Gah I'm of multiple minds about this.

If it were aimed purely for me, I'd love some stylised animated 2D action. I think its still a beautiful art form. To me the Japanese are on the right track keeping with 2D. I loved the FF movies, pretty but they lacked at heart.

I would go for 3D purely for the fact that most kids seem to like this more. My God Daughter loves Shrek etc, not so bothered about 2D unless its Sponge Bloody Square Pants!!! urghhh. However I'd like 3D if its stylised, like the TMNT movie was, I really enjoyed that. I get sick of them trying to make characters realistic, as it becomes pointless, ya may as well film it in real life. I look at Beowulf with interest but also thinking why the hell have they bothered. Angelina Jolie painted gold with a tail would have worked just as well

The only one that worries me is live action. 300 proved we can have buff dudes running about screaming... "This is... GREYSKULL!" but I think what worries me is a lack of funding leading to mediocre "Dungeons and Dragons" / "Eragon" level special effects. In a perfect world a LOTR budget would be nice.

I clicked 'cartoon' by mistake, where as I should have voted Live action. But having said that, I wouldn't be opposed to a cartoon or cgi movie.

I just have a feeling that when we do get a live action film, it's not going to be great...

I think MOTU will get as big a budget as Transformers if not more!

I dunno dude. Transformers had Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay behind it, big names...oh and Bumblebee having a wee...not to mention the Transformers being perves at the end... regardless if they go live action, I hope its Weta who gets the special effects duties. They continue to impress me. The Transformers were far too shiny.

Teela and Evil Lynn can be shiny though

This is an easy choice. That Beowulf CGI movie looks like crap. I predict it will bomb, badly.

Live-action all the way with CGI effects. For example: Lord of the Rings, Transformers, Star Wars prequals, The Matrix, etc.

Live action with a healthy mix of both traditional FX and CGI where needed. Like the two Underworld movies (RIP: Stan Winston).

I would love to see more from the MYP series as well... but as a separate continuity, etc. Like Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the premise, not CGI).

A really good question and poll. I picked live action. By that, I mean it be like the Transformers movie where it was live action with CG. I think MotU would look great in live action with some CG (like Adam's transformation to He-Man, so big things like Randor's Kingdom, and even some of Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain) stuff added. There is just so much potential with doing a He-Man movie, I'm truly amazed why it has not been made yet (not counting the 1987 thing). A CGI Orko would be both awesome and hysterical with all the antics he usually pulls.

The point of a live action movie is seeing all the characters we can in real life (with reallistic looks, weapons and habilities)

    CGI like Beowulf.

I don't think they are willing to do a live action movie right. The producer, director or costume designer WILL find one of a multitude of ways to screw it up. I'd rather have a CGI flick that gets it mostly right, than a BS live action movie that is just some man's paycheck. Of course, I'd want a live action movie, but there are so many ways to screw it up...and recent movies have given me a lack of confidence in Hollywood to deliver in live action.

Besides, CGI escapes many hurdles like a good actor for He-Man. You can get a stellar voice cast for the MOTU characters. You won't have to worry about actors getting too old or leaving. No complaints about mega hot costumes or fifty hours in a makeup chair.

I think the only reason why more people don't jump on the CGI bandwagon is because, those movies don't do too well.

For me it's that a pure CGI movie *like Beowulf* is just another cartoon but with better graphics and I am simply not interested in another cartoon unless it continues the MYP series.
