A new She-Ra fan!

I had to laugh today at a situation that happened. But first a brief background on what happened yesterday since it kind of relates.

Yesterday, I brought my 2-year old daughter home from daycare and I asked her if she wanted to wanted to watch her "Wonder Pets" DVD. Her normal response was "Wonder Pets!". So I put it on, and she watched a couple episodes. Once the second one was over, she pointed at my She-Ra Season 2 DVD set sitting on my DVD player and said "See-Ra!" I said, "Yes, that's Daddy's She-Ra DVDs" She said "See-Ra" again. So I asked, "Don't you want to watch more Wonder Pets?" And she said, "No... See-Ra!" So I put it on for her.

Now I told this story to my wife and I don't think she believed me. However, today, after we both picked her up and went grocery shopping. We got home and my daughter and wife curled up together on the couch to watch tv and to warm up from the cold. My wife told her, "Lets watch Backyardigans." My daughter said, "Back-yardi-gans." Once it ended, once again, she said, "See-Ra!" My wife was like, "What did she say?" So I listened again, and she went, "See-Ra!" again. I just broke out laughing my butt off as my wife groaned to herself, "Noooooooo!"

So we have a new She-Ra fan amongst us. The brainwashing is complete.

That's a great story! I have to imagine that almost any young girl who sees a picture of She-Ra will think that She-Ra's really cool, and want to watch the show. There are so few strong heroines in North American fiction that one like She-Ra is going to naturally appeal to young girls, I think.

Out of curiousity, what episodes did you show your daughter, Drewsky?

CDN_Man: I don't remember exactly which episodes, but when she asked, we watched some of the episodes from the first disc of Season 2.

Swift Wind: I think it's more because I'm carrying my "obsession" onto our daughter is all. She did say afterward, "Well, thank gawd it's She-Ra instead of He-Man". And I told her, "No, but that'll come."
