    Mini-Comics based Animated Series

So who would like to see a new animated series based on the original version of MOTU...namely the mini comics?

This means a comic that uses the mini-comics as their bible / starting point and base the mythos around the one created in them.

    this would mean.

He-Man is just He-Man, there is no Prince Adam

It would be the Green Goddess who gives him a Corrodite harness to increase his strength.

Skeletor is from a race of skull faced demons from Infinita

Castle Greyskull is a mysterious source of great power that only the person who wields both halves of the Power Sword (which is the key) can enter.

There is a whole race of Green Eternian Tigers

    and basically stuff like that.

Of course it would not just all be stuff from the Alcala comics but also the Texiera ones, just mix and match from teh various Mini-Comics just with the concepts from the Alcala ones taking precedence such as the Goddess being Green (tho as a nod to Tex she could disguise herself as a Caucasian version of herself now and then)

So any thoughts or comments? or is the Filmation mythos the only one you will ever accept as MOTU (despite it not being the first)

Only as a part of a Infinite crisis type of crossover.
Just imagine Skeletors from various universes teaming up to conquer the original Grayskull (the first mini comic series) and all other Grayskulls.

With you all the way pal! The first minicomics canon is the best ever and I would support it all the way until I die, you can bet on it!

i would prefer to have comics that take off were the mvc & myp took off.
or start over with the characters with the classic look in a new comic storyline.

I voted No but I think your phrasing of it as "a terrible idea" is a little harsher than I would have put it. It's not a bad idea. It's just not something I want to see. Technically MYP's toon was based on the MOTU canon I prefer but I hated that show. I don't think I'd want to see how a cartoon based on the canon I don't like would turn out.

Of course it would be awesom. It may even be more like something that originally attracted me to this toyline in the firstplace. And further explore a world that I had originally thought was implied but mostly moved awayfrom.

But I'm not a minicomic world purist. It is not "my cannon".

But a cartoon would be great.,

that being said, I wouldnt want it released today as the Primary Entertainment Medium for MOTU. Maybe like DC Comics non-continutity Direct to Video cartoon releases, where each story stands on it's own merit.

However such a thing may do more harm than good if a MOTUC Cartoon wasn't first. I agree with Mattel's idea of having a strong reaffirming vision for their MOTUC direction.

But bring on a one shot direct to video animated movie, sure thing.

I'd watch it, promote it, buy the series on Blu-Ray on the day of its release, wear tee-shirts about it- basically, I'd be a big ol' unpaid walking BILLBOARD for this!

And, oh, yeah- I'd BUY EVERY SINGLE MOTUC THAT GOT MADE AS A RESULT. Go ahead, Mattel- try me!

Yep... I'd be in... I don't have all of my original 80's figures, but I do have all of my original minicomics... The Mythos there is a good starting point, & an animated series would be amazing without a doubt IMO...
