Is there still one floating around? I remember drooling over the one that went for sale a year or so ago...

AWESOME pieces! Looks like you nailed that screencap for the gun. I forget how small that knife was in the movie. Thanks for posting pics. Good score!

This is a stunt version, so it's cast in a really thick rubberized foam and painted to look like a "real" gun. It's freaking huge too, measuring around 16" long!

    And the dagger-

    http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...w/hmdagger.jpg

The dagger is cast in a self-skinning foam, with a support inside. I'd say it was done like this instead of as a real dagger to protect Dolph from injury.

Oh, and while looking for other screen grabs, I realized that He-Man has it throughout the film until he is captured! I always thought it was gone after it's use in the initial fight scene, but you can clearly see it in mutliple shots throughout the movie! I am pretty stoked about that...

By chance did you show up at Power-Con with these? I seem to remember seeing some costumes in the PC video, but I can't recall at the moment if they were custom-made or not.

    Great stuff.

Wow, I would love to own a prop/costume from that movie! My current finances prohibit such things, though. But you are so lucky! Awesome!

Wow! After this many years, my thread is still going.

Not sure if anyone has seen this elsewhere, or posted in another thread, but awhile ago I remember stumbling on the website of the guy who sculpted the head of Skeletor's staff. I lost all my pics in a HD crash, but I just found the site again...

I seem to remember the pictures being larger, but it's better than nothing.

    Saw this today...
    Skellyauction.jpg

This is from the Liveauctioneers.com site. Apparently they are auctioning off this piece. I'm sure Alienmarine2000 will probably pic it up. LOL It's Skeletor's Costume minus boots and gloves/guantlets.

One thing that bothers me though is what is the deal with this reddish cloak? It must be a production made but unused design. I know this because they auctioned off another cloak (that was black as in the final film) in April of 2011. I'd like to know the whole story behind it. Anybody know Julie Weiss to ask her? Maybe some of you guys going to Power-Con can ask Gary Goddard for me. What was the "official" color of Skeletor's cloak? To me it looks like a black patterned velvet with a really cool metallic purple sheen. But then what do I know.

The dye for red also produces black in higher concentrations. The hood and cape were originally black, and faded to red over time.

Back before digital editing, film had its own color systems that designers had to work with. Red and dark colors especially had to be altered to look "right" on film. A black costume usually had to be purple or blue to look right on film.

The other day I got to hold a pair of actuall red ruby slippers from the wizard of oz. in real life, they are very dark red because the film lightens everything.
We survived the long night.... MOTU Forever!

Wow good theories all around. I'm going to stick to my original thought since the solid black cloak was auctioned off last year and I found this pic online.

This is under normal lighting conditions which is very clearly black. I guess I solved my own mystery. I hope whoever snags this piece puts up some more close-up details of it. Would nice to see some hi-rez shots of it.

I try to but there are so many parts missing and even the discolloring of the cloak.
I had bid if they start a bit lower....so i bought the Blade sword and an Eternia Trooper first
But it will pop up soon again for sure.....
