Here's Queen Angella - It's pretty much my interpretation of Baena's winning redesign.

It's just flat color because I'm not entirely sure yet that this is the color-scheme I want to go with; I thought about going more heavily pink like the toy version, and I might also try giving her a darker complexion like Gbagok once did.

I'm trying to get out versions of the PoP characters that are my personal ideal, and for me, that redesign is how 200x Angella should look; Baena's rendition of her is just beautiful.

For reference to my reference, as it were, here's a link to the thread where Baena's is posted:
    http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...t=vote+angella
Even if you don't care where I got the idea, it's still worth taking a look at this gorgeous piece of art.

Anyway, let me know what you all think.

    EDIT:
An alternate color scheme ... and one on which I'm really iffy.

Yeah... I'll agree, the pink doesn't quite do it for me either.

But these are really great! The board is lucky to have yet another artist that's growing by leaps and bounds.

PS: I think the fur on She-Ra really does work.

Yeah, consider the pink Angella all done; the purple is better. It also dovetails nicely into Glimmer.

Speaking of Glimmer, which one of these do you all prefer?:

I'm kind of leaning toward the one on the right myself, but I'd like some opinion from others.

I tried to incorporate some of the elements of Angella's design into Glimmer's outfit, since it seemed logical that they'd use the same tailor/armorer. It seems like it builds a continuity of style that way.

    Edit:

I changed my mind about which way I was leaning ...

I like both of these actually. Both the dark and light skin works for me. They look great by the way.

Ultimately, tradition is what decided me on the caucasian skin-tone for both Angella and Glimmer.

There's still some almost exotic appeal (for me) about the darker-skinned Glimmer, and if I ever draw Micah and decide to give him dark skin, then I might revisit the issue. For now, though, we have a more "classic" Glimmer. (Classic toy, that is, versus classic cartoon - the blue on her and Angella never made much sense to me. I did go with straight hair like the cartoon, though.)

j-bird: angella and glimmer are fantastic, but i think that she-ra with the fur collar is my favorite out of all your interpretations so far. the fur really gives her a little extra barbarian "oomph."

Thanks bootleg - that is exactly what I was hoping it would do, and not be too "Ice-Armor She-Ra," although that could be fun too.

It does, however, make me feel like if I go with that version, then if I draw Swift-Wind, I'll have to make him look a little more bad@$$.

Nope, I haven't done Hordak yet. He's on the list, though.

    I have, however, done Castaspella:

Her big wheel/circle thing is still in the works, but the figure is done.

There are definite elements from Beyond the Legends' design in there, but I opted to leave out any blue (going more for the toy color-scheme than the cartoon version).

@ motu77: Thanks - and I do plan to finish her up, as soon as I can decide on furry shoulders vs. non-furry shoulders.

Thanks Patreek, I'm glad you like her. For some reason, I've always responded to the idea of her.

Anyway, here she is with her disc:
    or

On the left we have a good old-fashioned hypno-disc kind of thing. On the right, we have a spanking-new energy-construct disc. I personally enjoy the energy one, but the traditionalist in me likes the other one too, so y'all get to see 'em both.

    Hope you enjoy!

    Princess of Power continues ...

    Here's my updated Double Trouble:

    #0 #1 #2 #3

I decided the first one was too pastel. Is there one of these that y'all like best?

based mostly on the good (heroic) half of 2-bad's redesign, which can be viewed here:
    http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...trouble&page=2

I am trying to decide how I envision the character (since she's pretty open, never having been on the cartoon). I like the idea of her as a double-agent, but I don't quite know for sure how that would work.

The other thought I had is "What if she's twins?" So basically there'd be two of her, and they could occasionally arrange a "fight" so the Horde thinks there's a good one and an evil one, but really they're both working for the Rebellion.

Regardless, I definitely see her as a melee fighter (as opposed to the more power-based / ranged-attackers that seem to make up the majority of the Rebellion).

    Anyway, there she is.

    Try, try again ...

The more I looked, the more I liked this color-scheme, so I added a little depth and here it is, my actual ideal version of Double Trouble.

(This is the one you liked, too, isn't it Patreek?)

I still like some of the other versions, but what can you do?
