There is some great famous pioneer on that list, but Rush himself give out backlash on HoF itself. After this year nomination and controversy? HoF is same as the regular poll people made up.

So happy that Heart finally made it in!! After watching the performance of "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Honors for Led Zepplin, I remembered how much I LOVE Heart!! Ann Wilson is one of the greatest voices in music ever, male or female. And Their music(especially in the 70's) is genuinely amazing!

Weekend Rock Question: Who Should Be Inducted Next Into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
Vote for the overlooked act you want to see honored next year

Readers' Poll: The 10 Bands Who Should Enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014
Your picks include Chicago, Deep Purple and the Smiths
    http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pi...-2014-20130424

Few topics cause rock fans to argue like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Its most vociferous critics (such as That Metal Show host Eddie Trunk) feel it's been terribly unkind to prog and metal, while others feel that rap and pop acts like ABBA and Madonna have no place in there. Many fans would simply like to see more post-punk groups like the Smiths, Joy Division and Sonic Youth get a nod. Last week, the long-overlooked acts Rush and Randy Newman finally entered the Hall of Fame. We asked our readers to vote for the act they'd most like to see get inducted next year.

    01. Deep Purple
    02. The Smiths
    03. Kiss
    04. Yes
    05. The Moody Blues
    06. Cheap Trick
    07. Warren Zevon
    08. Gram Parsons
    09. Chicago
    10. Nirvana

Metal should have their own Hall of Fame, Or at least some individual that changed Heavy metal Scene like Tony Iommi or even Jon Lord, and Neil Peart.

well I think rocknroll is pretty much including evruthing except the very POP scene.
reggae, r'n'b, metal, punk, post-punk, ska, blues, jazz....all of them are part of rocknroll as the hall of fame mean it.

anyway no black flag? no bad brains? after 30 years they should know how those bands were seminal for a lot of bands that are already in. especially for the flags, they kinda inspired modern rock one way or another.
