How can you tell the difference Between Vintage and Commemorative ?

When the figures are loose.
Ive never opened a Commemorative figure.

There´s been a thread about it. Molds are the same I think, but it´s a different kind of plastic, and check the bottom of the feet, you will realize.

The easiest way is to look on the bottom of the feet. The commemorate figures have a little lip around the edge while the vintage figures are completely flat. I think He-Bro's site has pics?

There was a site that had extensive pics long ago but it's gone now. Shame, it was a VERY good resource.

As most here have said, the feet are different. They have a ridge around the edges where the old were solid flat. The faces on a few, especially He-Man and all that use his head mold are different. The paint and plastic is more flat than the shiny/glossy kind of the originals, and it feels slightly different. Some of the accessories are molded differently, most notably the power swords and He-Man's shield.

The original molds were either destroyed or sold to other toy manufacturers...

also, the heads are sort of narrow, i bet The New Old He-Man's avatar picture is a comm one

Also, if the figure back or it's armor or weapons are marked CHINA then it is a commemorative. There were no original figures that were ever marked CHINA, only the commemoratives.

I am working ona potential deal for some vintage figs, but is there a way to tell what are vintage Vs the reissues from around 10 years ago? Some of the figs he has seem a little to good to be true in the condition they are in.
