MOTUC Sorceress - Discussion

1) - Do you want to see the new Sorceress figure look similar to the Classic Toy / Filmation Sorceress (Basically the same design) ?

2) - Do you want the Sorceress to look like the 2002 MYP inspired Staction (Cartoon Colors) ?

3) - Do you want her to look like the cartoon version of the New Adventures Sorceress ?

4) - A mix of MYP 2002 / Classic Toy-Filmation Sorceress ?

I would love to see The Classic Toy (Based upon the Filmation design) be the main inspiration for the MOTU Classics Sorceress. Maybe Mattel will make a variant sculpt in the MYP design, offering repaints in both cartoon and classic colors.

I would be happy with a mix as long as Mattel kept her Classic / Filmation head dress and feathered cape joining her arms. We may hopefully see Angella in the new line, fingers crossed. If the Sorceress has natural wings, She and Angella might look to similar. Just my opinion though!

I wonder if the Classic toy version would be sculpted with her arms and feather cape spread out? If so maybe Mattel could do a repaint in NA colors, with an alternative NA head sculpt included. However the Sorceress gets to us and in whatever form I will just be happy to have her in my collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I really REALLY hope to see is the classic head dress, which Mattel do have the right to use if I am not mistaken. She appeared in the MOTU and early POP mini comics with that version of the head dress.

I didn't take to the extended beak and angular / Egyptian head dress of the MYP version. I still loved other aspects of the 4H design, (the body sculpt was amazing) just not the head dress (IMO).

Whatever design is used I am sure the 4H will make her amazing.

I agree, she has to look like the Filmation/vintage toy design! To add a character such as Zodak is one thing but to change a character to a design from another canon doesn`t work for me. I still perfer the Goddess but if we must have a Sorceress she has to look like the filmation/vintage toy design. I like that design but not for the Sorceress, maybe another "new"character

Filmation all the way. Call her "Chicken Sorceress" all you like; she's awesome!

We'll never see it, but I'd love another version of her from the NA mini-comics. I think if more people saw those pics, they would want her!

I wonder if they'll re-use Teela's head for the MOTUC version? According to the bio, Teela is a "magically cloned daughter". Sounds like re-use of parts to me!

I'm all for chicken Sorceress... Maybe I'd get 200X Sorceress IF she comes in Vintage colors (like the variant staction). Her normal 200X colors remind me a lot of Chun Li... (If she was fused with a bird and borrowed Mumm-Ra's bandagaes to make a skirt...)

Unlike some other characters, like Prince Adam. Teela. I believe that Horsemen will still with the original design for the Sorceress. As that way she looked in the Filmation design. He design would be hard to add any elements from the 200X design to her. Maybe an accessory or something. But she will stay the same as her original/ Filmation design. Unless they decide to make her have wings like the 200X version so they could take away the feathered cape she wears. It would be a cool accessory if she came with a xox that can hold the Sword of He or she came with a power sword that is similar to Adora's sword. Maybe have a a space for both swords in it!

Where do you see Chun-Li in the Sorceress? I see nothing Chinese about her outfit at all.

well seeing as its a 'classics' inspired line, I'm sure we'll get the Filmation/vintage toy Sorceress. I do prefer the 200X version though.

I want to see the classsic Sorceress first and then I would like to have an NA one.
The only one I don´t want is the 200x one.

I am sure the Classic Sorceress (falcon outfit) will be the one we will get, as that is what the line is mainly about (Classics)...

As I believe characters like the Sorceress, who originally had a classic toy, will be designed that way, but classic characters who did not have a figure, & were in 200X, will be 200X inspired (like Count Marzo).
That is what I was led to believe at the NYCC panel.

I prefer the classic Filmation look for the Sorceress, but I also like the Goddess. Maybe a Teelana figure with both cobra and falcon costumes?

This is what I would like to see. Classic first and maybe NA as a bonus down the line. I'm not opposed to the 200x version, but it wasn't my favorite.

No matter which version of the Sorceress we get - my guess is that she'll be easily modifiable (by the 4HM) to make into the alternate versions with basic head and accessory swaps like we've seen with MAA, Teela, Trap-Jaw, and Zodac.

With all the debates about color schemes and licensing, does anyone know what version of the Sorceress they are looking at? Off the top of my head I know the goofy egyptian MYP one, the Teela Snake version, The Filmation version (Best of all!!!!), the original toy with wings instead of Sleeves, The minicomic where its filmation only white...... I'm sure there are more. What is fair game?

Myself I'm dying for the Orange and blue one from Filmation. The Toy was close, but the seperate wings and with the falcon head looking up instead of forward always threw me for a loop. Did the "Classic" Filmation ever appear in that form in the minicomics, or did they always Tweak her a little.

Lousy 20 year memories are wearing me down She's my #2 most wanted character that I think was screwed up in 200x remakes. #1 was he-man, but He's coming

Don't feel too bad, I don't have her either.

I actually had to check out the cover to see which verson was actually on the cover to The Search For Keldor. They seemed to change the way she looked like every 2-3 issues.

Since this is Masters of the Universe "Classics", I would hope The Sorceress looks like the old figure or the way she looked in the 80s cartoon.

I think that figure looks the best....and because it is "Classics" I agree that the Filmation Sorceress should be used. She is the superior Sorceress.
