MOTUC Sorceress - Discussion

We gotta have her and the fact that there are some who think of her as a background character is news to me!

Completely agree - she is essential to the universe and probably should be higher in the pecking order of MOTUC releases etc ... but then, I'm more personally intersted in the Evil characters ...

This seems like kind of a silly question. She's been in every popular work of MOTU fiction and she no doubt will be in MOTUC. I mean, who's gonna say that they don't care about the Sorceress?

The Sorceress has been there from the beginning in some form or another.

So yeah, I'm with the majority here in that she is absolutely a core character to the mythos.

Well I can't argue with any of this but really, apart from getting to talk about another female character was there any doubt in the question? Of course she's going to be essential and will be a no-brainer re-do of Teela when the time comes.

I've been on board for all the additions to the MOTU mythos(giving everyone names, Skeletor's origin, Demo-Man), but if the omit or drastically alter the Sorceress for this line, I'll be majorly P.O.'d.

My MOTU universe will always be an extension of the Filmation toons, so she is an indespensible part of the mythos, just like She-Ra.

All I can say that The Sorceress is my favorite female character. She better be made! I was upset that she wasn't made in the 200X line. Even more so after seeing the prototype they had using the Teela body. I didn't get the Staction cause I hated that she was stuck in that floating pose. All I can say is that if she doesn't make it to figure form this time around. I will be one upset MOTU fan!

She better be made and released next year!

Not sure if anyone else remembers this but Teela`s second head is the Goddess/AKA the original Sorceress, so in escence it`s already confirmed that we will get her in at least 1 incarnation. I`m not big on Filmation Canon at all, so I can wait on her in bird form since I know she enivitable.

Well, Castle Grayskull is not Castle Grayskull without her.

I even had to buy the bloody 200x staction simply so I could display her with my 200x castle.

I would imagine she is placed below Teela, Evil-Lyn & She-ra in importance because they are action oriented characters, while Sorceresss isn't really. And action characters are seen as better sellers. That is my guess anyway.

I will be annoyed if we do not see her. Same with Marlena, there are too few women in MOTU to be skipping any.

Fair point. I think teela will be the first figure I get two of, one to display as Teela, one as Goddess/Sorceress

With the original line, we got her YEARS after the line was up & running.

For the 2002 series we only got her as a staction. Because of my money troubles at the time I couldn't afford to buy any of those cool looking stactions but when I saw they made the Sorceress, I had to get her. To this day, she's still the only staction I have.
That's why I started this thread to see how many fans she has. We want her NOW Matty!
Not at the last moment like we've gotten her the LAST TWO TIMES!

I'm sick of her weak portrayal as well. I'm not saying I wanna see her running around cutting off heads like Red Sonja, but I don't want to see her collapse after using her powers. She's got to be tough!

It is supremely essential for a Sorceress in my collection. To me, she is just as important as He-Man, Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Beast-Man, Mer-Man, and all the other main characters as she is one herself.

I was so disappointed that we never got a Sorceress in the 200X line. Sure, we got the NECA one, but she has no posability, and is held in the air with a stick up her butt.

I am really hoping we get a really good Sorceress this time around. The best ever that will do her justice. No sticks up the rear, no static poses. Just a really awesome Sorceress. I hope we get one SOON!!!!!!!

My universe is pretty much the 200X universe, and therefore the Sorceress is pretty important.

but I won't buy her if she's not in her 200X outfit, so I don't forsee her being too important to my "Classics Collecting".

She's VERY essential in my mind. She is one of the few characters that if never existed may have changed my whole interest in the line when I was a kid. I loved the woman who lived in the castle who had all the knowledge and was mysterious.

Gotta have her ASAP please.

I just hope when and if we get her, she won't have as cheesy a sculpt as the original figure did. Sorry but I did not like how her head and the headdress were done or that danged sprouting wings feature. Give her a bird cape like in the toon!

Yep, you said it all.

i want Sorceress in her classic form (bird costume Teela'na version), but better obviously.

No 200x version for me. i hated that one, both in appearance and portrayal. i hated everything about the egyptian with wings design, & the cold emotionless voice. That version can just go away forever imo.

Also a Teela figure will never be a 'sorceress' figure imo. To me they're two separate people. Sorceress is Teela's mother, not teela with a snakeskin costume. bad teela...killing innocent animals to wear as clothing... shame on her!

yeah, Sorceress is more important imo than Zodak, Hordak, Stratos, etc. She should be one among the first females they make imo, after Teela & Evil-lynn. Definitely needs to be made before She-ra imo.

mixed feelings really. I always wanted her and Grayskull always seemed empty without a sorceress, but since I NEVER saw one in the stores, its tough to say she's "essential" If they never made her, it would still be status quo for my collection.

Personally the orange/blue Filmation sorceress is the only way to go for me. I REALLY want to get one this time!!
