Avril: I think you should DEFINITELY enter your design as a legit entry, I think there's definitely some interesting ideas there, especially the emblem as saddle.
I hope you've got your computer up and running as well, since you've also got a few days to the deadline if you want to scan it in so we can get a better look at it.
Monsterfink: That's some hardcore stuff, and kind of makes sense with the 200x Hordak. He rules supremely.
That's the problem, we've ordered a new computer and its been delayed another week! So, no contest entry for me lol
wow. great entries.
i like especially the pictures from nightwing (human version), blksuperman2, zvedafire, monsterfink, ink f301 and wolfsfang.
and here is my entry:
base was battle cat. die eyes are "fake-plastic-diamonds", the saddle is from classic battlecat with a hordak head from 200x hordaks armor. rest is sculpey.

Jafaristew...the guy that coined the term "200X."
i never would have guessed that clawdeen would inspire so many cool entries--great work everyone! here's mine:
First of all, no, this is not a picture of the Pink Panther and Snagglepuss.
There has been a lot of debate about Clawdeen's gender, and my solution to the gender question was to make the toy and animation versions of Clawdeen into separate characters. The toy version, retaining the name Clawdeen and the specified female gender, gains an armored helm--I leave it to the reader's imagination whether the plume of hair is Clawdeen's mane, or simply a part of the helm. The cartoon version becomes Clawdius, Clawdeen's mate. I swiped the name from Lion-O's dad.
I did my best to make Clawdeen feminine without resorting to the heavy-handed shorthand that the original toy suffered from (eyeshadow, long eyelashes). With Clawdius, I was striving for a groomed, submissive feel, to contrast the feral and somewhat crazed look of Manticore. Considering I had the handicap of working with almost nothing but variations of the color pink, I'm pretty happy with how the colors turned out.
Well here's my version of the pink pussycat. Never liked the old toy, but I loved her in that one ep of the show & the ladybird comics. With all these amazing designs I know my chances are slim, but hey I'm not going to miss out on this one. Anyway, not much change on the original design, but i still hope you like it.
Bootleg: Clever stuff, solving the gender-problem by splitting the character into two extremes.
My one nag would perhaps be that Clawdius looks a bit bland in comparison, especially since he doesn't have a saddle.
And now... I'm gonna' go and remind an artist about the deadline. Sure hope he's had time to complete his entry.
bootleg the mounts rule...even if its a pink lion...that is why somany GREAT entries ...and nice old school cartoon referenceing...exit stage left
i love your entries bootleg...classic bootleg greatness....but i am also missing your thread with all your new and fan characters
and twobad...WOW..that is one disturbed looking kitty...from the time i started lurking on this board a few years ago i have to admit of all the artists you have most definatly IMPROVED the most..your linework and colors are amazing...evey new piece i see from you i see how much better you have gotten

we have till the end of the day right? or till tomorrow? i have mine done just trying to figure out how to get it into my computer. my scanner isn't working
I don't have the time to enter this time, and maybe not for a while. I am really swamped, but there has been some astounding entries for this transgender cat
super-munkyboy: that wasn't my intent, but i guess i can live with that!
2-bad:: nice work--i really like the new techniques you're incorporating here.
Predabot: thank you! i was purposely keeping clawdius plain--i liked nightwing's idea about the female-dominated lions on etheria, so i was thinking clawdius stays home and tends the children, while clawdeen gets armored up and goes off to war.
gatchagrey: thanks my friend, you're too kind. i'll try not to keep you waiting too long on my fan characters thread!
well i took a picture of it, but i need to go buy a cord to connect the cam to my comp, i just moved and can't find it. erg
Awesome work all around!
I'm loving the diversity of concepts and styles.
Alas - I'm finally back on board with the re-design challenges!
Unfortunately I only had time enough to slap some sloppy color onto my sketch...
but I'll be continuing to develop my concept and post some of my other Clawdeen sketches later.
I'll also return to post my thoughts on each of the excellent submissions you all have made.
Here's the original sketch:
and a flat colored sketch:
I prefer these two to the more involved colored version above - which was just too quick and dirty. I'll take the time to color it properly down the line.

Great to have you, back with us, J. It's a cool looking concept. I hope you take part in the upcoming challenges from now on, buddy.
i really like the idea "clawdeen and clawdius". because that explains why clawdeen got a male mane.

I'm in heaven!!!
Can folks please pay more attention to the image quoting. If the image you are reffering to is on the same page, there's little point on showing it again and slowing the site down. Quote away but please try remember to remove the "[/img]" and the end of the image link you are quoting!
