I find that Blu-Ray's and back when HD DVDs were around they were anywhere from $5-15 cheaper at Fry's Electronics.

Oh and to keep this thread on topic: I will be picking up both exclusives. I sure hope I can find this before street date!
Fry's is not exactly a nationwide mass retail chain. They only have about 35 stores in the country with about 25 of them in California & Texas. While yes, they are generally competitive/cheaper than Best Buy, unless you're a big online shopper, the few extra bucks+tax you pay at a physical Best Buy store will basically even out with Fry's shipping costs, plus you don't have to wait for them to arrive. Though I will agree that Fry's Blu-Ray prices are usually MUCH cheaper. I just picked up FF2, X3 and all 4 Die Hards on Blu-Ray this weekend for $15 apiece. (I live nearby the only Fry's in Illinois) Although they were out of stock on the Die Hard movies, the Best Buy across the street price matched them AND I got the Reward Zone points. Instead of Best Buy's full price of $140 for the individual Die Hards, I got them for $60.

Anyways, I'm pumped that we're less than 3 weeks away for Volume 2! I still have to pick up my copy of Secret of the Sword that came out this week!

I totally have to agree with you on this too. I live in Indiana and it seems that Best Buy puts full MSRP on their DVD's. I get better prices from my Target and Wal-Mart. The only good thing about best buy is their selection. It seems that Target and Wal-Mart only carry new releases where Best Buy has much more. However I usually go to Amazon when I'm looking for something because they're still usually cheaper than Best Buy. Not to menion the free shipping. This really applies toward Blu-Ray and HD disc....Best Buy did put full MSRP on them. I could them 5-15 cheaper from amazon and my Wal-Mart.

I cant wait to get the Vol 2 MYP MOTU, but I'll probably only buy 1

If you want to see full MSRP and beyond go to a borders. I didn't even know that you could sell a single disc Blu-Ray for $45.

I was walking through Target yesterday and heard "By The Power Of Grayskull!" and looked over to see the MYP toon playing to preview Vol 2, and on the screen it said something about Target having extra/exclusive footage...anyone have any info about this?!

Extra footage? I don't mind silly stuff like cards with promo art (the .Org SOTS aside that type of stuff is not my cup O tee) but real extra content? I was a little bugged that the movie edit of The Beginning was exclusive to target, I really felt that should have been included as a basic feature...But that wasn't a big deal because it wasn't really anything "new". I hope this isn't true, or at the very least if it is true that the other retailers don't have extra content/bonus footage to contend with it...

It's not true. There is no extra footage.

The only differences are what I posted earlier in the thread.

Nothing, except when it is footage used as a retailer incentive. But luckily we don't have to worry about this. Anyone spot a set yet? I'm assuming it's still way too early, but just checking....

Personally I dont see anything wrong with retailer-exclusive footage. I'd rather have the choices, then nothing extra at all. Sides, I like the way it is now with more exclusive stuff to buy.

Well, I think I will probably go for the Target exclusive set for Volume 2. I probably won't be buying two sets again.

As cool as the lithograph from Best Buy sounds, it's basically just the artwork on the cover slightly reconfigured, so it's not exactly a must have for me, at least not at an addition $15 to $20 to buy a whole dupicate set just to get it.

The cards from the Target set sound better to me since at least they will be made up of images that were used in promoting the new show and will therefore be different than what's already on the cover.

I went the Best Buy route last time, but this time I'll probably just buy it from wherever's cheapest.

Best Buy has a mini lithograph (5x7). Emiliano's killer cover reconfigured a little to show more of Snake Mountain. No words or logos, just art. It also has the coolest finish I've ever seen - it uses a Holograpic UV coating.

Target has a set of 3 collectible cards (5x6), using promotional images created for the cartoon. Printed on a foil board. I think they're really cool, but haven't seen a live sample of them yet.

Both exclusives will be in a special envelope attached to the back of the sets.
That's awesome!! I'll be buying two copies once again then! By the way, BCI Guy, if it hasn't been decided upon already...that poster of Emiliano's killer spine art mural would be an awesome exclusive for the third and final volume!

    2 sets for me too

by the way news for the 3rd Volume are coming in:

    http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/He-...-Volume-3/9603

    August 5th 2008 !!!

    3-discs
13 episodes + all morals included

+ we're waiting on the one and only Blu-ray release that (let me repeat) I think will be an one-off release. One Blu-ray release to include all episodes. It would be a shame if it wasn't like that!

I just don't like retailer exclusive episodes, footage, special features, etc, because everyone should get the same content in that regard. There was a major rant about it on TVshowsondvd a few years ago, mainly because retailers were hyping the exclusives then not having them in stock on release day. I am guessing and assuming, based on previous comments made by BCI Guy, that the distributor has no control over which retailers may want an exclusive item, but does the distributor control what the item would be?

Whenever I end up having to 'duplicate' a DVD, I have a nephew and 2 nieces I give one of them to.

I can't believe this! I just got my volume two MYP set and there was a King Grayskull flyer in the box!!!!!!!!! Mattel are advertising his availability at the SDCC this summer. This is a seriously nice flyer!!!!!!!!! Also, a very smart way to advertise him in my opinion. I wonder if this will be in all the sets?. BCI guy I can believe you kept this quiet! I am glad you did though, it was such a lovely suprise when I opened it and found the flyer.: hmwink:
