There's some seriously cool stuff shown. Most notabley, the stages of He-man's figure design in actual sculpted form! Seriously cool!
I'm really looking forward to that one!
I hope I'll have my DVD by this weekend... A good man from the boards picked one up for me at the con.

I would've liked to use Hordak, but Mattel has no high quality cartoon images of him.
Bummer. I'm still hoping someone drew a Horde Armor He-Man somewhere too

As for the commentaries/intro, didn't know that. I guess that answers why the conventions always had the first season one in front of Power of Grayskull

Yeah, all the episodes had the regular intro, so we had to track down the Snake Men intro so we could put it in front of the appropriate episodes.

I think I speak for all of us on these forums, when I say that it's so awesome that you guys went to all the trouble to track down the correct intro like that!

As many of us are already aware, there are companies out there that would NOT have gone to that trouble just to release a cartoon on DVD.

But that's just one more reason I'm happy that BCI Eclipse was chosen to bring these shows to DVD!

Come on, Tuesday! Hurry up and get here!

Hey guys! I'm headed to best buy this weekend. If anyone (international or other) needs me to pick one up for them, just let me know. It would be cost+shipping. Just shoot me a pm and let me know so I have a good idea to buy! Any requests past noon on Saturday will get overlooked. I'm 99% sure my BB would have released it and they will have quite a few.
Auto-reply: out of the office until further notice, please shoot me an e-mail below or wait for a long time to hear back... happy MOTUCing

Nothing has changed in the past 10 days:

Nobody is buying TV on Blu-Ray, thus retailers are going to be very wary of supporting TV series - especially by a smaller studio. It's something we still plan to do, and we've been talking about extra things we can do with it, but our hands are tied until the market will support it better.

Actual release date for DVD is August 5th but it is out early as
    SDCC Exclusive with King Grayskull-cover.

    Other Exclusives are:
    - Best Buy : comes with printed comic-adaption of unproduced episode 40 by MVCreations.
    - Target : comes with a He-Man keychain (layered rubber)

The comic-adaption is in a viewable PDF format in every DVD, so I hope everyone enjoys the read.

There are cool documentaries with 4Horsemen which are no doubt a must-see.

So what did you guys think? Getting to see the last episodes in high quality widescreen format?

Yes indeed. Very excited !! I hope we can have more He-Man episodes like this in the future.

    Yer gonna freak out man!!
And be somewhat baffled when you see all the cool versions that got rejected by 'child testing'!
There's one He-man in particular that really illustrates this.

I really want to talk about it but I had better wait until folks have their DVD's yes?

Edit: Oh and I admit to a sigh of relief knowing that BCI have got the right intros!!

That, and the BB version comes with an actual printed comic book, rather than just the viewable version on the DVD

Picked up my copy yesterday at Best Buy like many others here. I must say I was quite impressed with the three documentaries on disc three. They total about an hour and a half in length and give some great insight into the crafting of the Masters line (although the first doc could use some editing -- it got a little dry and repetitious at times).

My favorite new pic (at least to me) was the original Beast Man prototype (shown in the second documentary). I really wish they made that thing, even if only as a staction!

As far as the comic goes: very nice indeed! I don't want to give away any plot points since I think it's best to go into something new spoiler free. A non-spoiler: the story takes place immediately after episode 39 ends. It's a good story and I would certainly be open to this type of comic continuation of the MYP mythology. This may be the only viable way to continue the story and I would love if the powers that be could work out an arrangement.

I still yearn for a blu-ray release if only to replace the shoddy volume one release. Two and three are fantastic!

If I put in an order for 10,000 copies of the blu-ray for myself in addition to Best Buy's and other retailer's orders, would that be enough to get the ball rolling on the uber-blu-ray set?

    Absolutely!

The 10,000 copies alone would make it the most successful TV show in Blu-Ray history!

Awesome! My check's in the mail. No really, trust me on that one. Just go ahead and ramp up production right now. Checks rarely get lost in the mail after all.

Pre-orderd mine from Amazon.co to support the Org. They had that as the release date but I got an Email yesterday saying that it had shopped! Weird but I'm not complaining
