I'm curious to see what everyone thinks of the Teela refresh concept that was going to come out in the "vs. the Snake Men" series. Scandalous!

Oh I was still able to see the concepts! Needless to say, I would LOVE to get a He-Man and Skeletor Statue like the ones they used for their initial pitch... BEAUTIFUL work!!!
The more classic looking Teela was quite nice also... Not wild about the shorter hair, but I loved the body detailing.

It's a SDCC exclusive... I'll shoot her an email, thanks BCI Guy!

Yeah, that "Snake slave" Teela was... WOW! Let's just say if she were ever released, she'd give the "Slave Leias" at the conventions some competition!
And the Snake Armor Teela was interesting as well.

Agreed, that alone was worth the price of the DVD set. The detail they go into was just amazing and oh god do I want that He-Man statue they showed (the one they used to pitch the line to Mattel)

I have to admit I like their original concept Beast Man, Teela and Moss Man 100% better than the ones we got at retail

That is... Everything I could see of them.
I've not got a scratch on my DVD, I played the interview on both my DVD Player and my DVD rom on my computer, and in the middle of the interview, there's major bad skipping and pixel-refresh problems...
I just watched it on my Playstation 3 and had no problems, it must be one of those glitches that only effects certain dvd players

I played it on the interactual player, and while it did play better, it still skipped and paused in a couple of spots again.

I've emailed Erin BCI guy, she was surprised I had a copy, seeing as street date is tomorrow.
I let her know it was the SDCC exclusive, though I'm not sure she'll know what that is...

She's treatin' me well though... Kudos once again to the customer service at BCI!

    Agreed... Erin Rocks!
And for that matter, BCI is an amazingly awesome company! Thanks for all you do, and thank you BCI Guy for your continued presence here, and for pointing us all to Erin.

Hopefully this problem isn't wide spread, otherwise BCI Guy... You owe Erin at least a box of the best doughnuts in town!

Well the Canada Best Buy website had the exclusive for Volume 2. So they might have it for Volume 3. Actually, just checked the site and it appears they do! He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe - Season 2 Volume 3 (Best Buy Exclusive Comic)

So if your in Canada, you can get it online.

I just wish I could find the SDCC exclusive.

I'd imagine if Canadian Best Buys had the previous exclusives, they should again.

Any reason why BB exclusive for Volume 3 would not be around in stores just as long as first two? Went today and had no luck convincing them to sell it to me and I be darned if I am going to drive to BB again for at least a week. I must have read that wrong I thought BB broke street date when the Con happened.

Totally unrelated. Best Buy is not allowed to break street date, but some stores often do - especially with our product. It's pretty much a crap shoot if any individual store will put them out early.

All the time they break the street date on BCI stuff, even on small items like Lone Ranger and Blackstarr

We went to 5 of them this weekend and only 1 had broken street date and put 4 copies on the shelf. I do remember when She-Ra V1 came out I went to every store and they had it on the shelf a week early. Over time it seems like the same stores are the repeat offenders

Any reason why BB exclusive for Volume 3 would not be around in stores just as long as first two?
The ad states there is a limit of 3 per person on the exclusive so I would think in a week there should still be some available (you would not put a 3 per person limit if your store got 5 copies)

I still saw some Volume 2 with the lithograph for sale so I would think the comic one would be similar in shelf life

    OK, 2 thoughts:
    1. How is it that your ad mentions the exclusive and the 3-per person limit? I just looked at the ad online for my area, and there's NO mention of the exclusive AT ALL! It's also not listed on the US website, at least not that I saw.
    2. 3-per person? 3-PER PERSON?!? Well, CRAP!! Looks like I have to go to the trouble to hit at least 2 stores tomorrow! I'm picking copies up for people in Europe, and I need AT LEAST 6!!!! Thanks a lot, Best Buy!

    Jack T. Chance:

I dont know I go to best buy and type in 50014 and thats what comes back, but my ad also says $19.99 while everyone else says $17.99 apparently. Its on page 8 of my ad, this is what it says when you click on details. I know for a fact I paid $17.99 this past weekend for the 4 copies I bought so I do not understand how ads for the same store can have it priced HIGHER
*Date subject to change. New release offers begin Tuesday. All promotional prices & good on regular editions unless noted. Limit 3 of each title per customer. No dealers.
And again take that with a grain of salt, I highly doubt any Best Buy would turn away sales. If anything they will ring it up as two seperate transactions if they were really enforcing the 3 per purchase rule

I am not sure if this only applies to online either, since its not in your ad (at least if its not on Page 8) then it might not be limited

OK, after looking at it, yours has the exact same info as mine, I just didn't click over to the more info page. And the only mention of the Best Buy Exclusive is that you can see the little round "Best Buy Exclusive" sticker in the photo of the box art. Nowhere else do they mention the exclusive, not even on the website if you go to order it online.

I guess I'll see what the situation is tomorrow morning.

Oh, and the $19.99 price? Same price they're charging here. So you're not the only one getting gypped out of that $2 discount they're offering in other markets.

Sure worked out that way. I'm not sure of any other DVD sets where the final volume has had, by far, the most features for the series.

It wasn't by design - it just took a lot longer than expected to get everything finished and ready.

Today's the day. I'm so eager to get the Best Buy exclusive with the printed mini-comic. I think I'll go a bit early and press my face up against the doors waiting for them to open.

    Wow

Today is such a great day. I still can't fathom completely that we now have every MOTU cartoon ever created, in there entiretly, available on DVD. Way back when it was announced we'd be getting the 80's toons, then She-ra then MYP I was very much concerned that we may not get a whole release; that things would fizzle or some tramatic thing would occur stopping it.

This last volume is incredible and the fact that such incredible people have made this happen really makes it the amazing product it (and they all are) is.

THANK YOU Mattel, BCIGuy, Val, Emilliano, 4Horsemen and EVERYONE else who really did this RIGHT!

That said...time to bring on the SUPER collectors edition that comprises every toon, all discs in one set, in exclusive Castle Grayskull / Snake Mountain packaging! Can you even imagine!...I'd buy it!
We did it! MOTUC Castle Grayskull is coming! We've been waiting over 30 years for this!

My favorite was by far the big braid coming off the back with the two braids in front... That was killer!

Why they didn't go for it? We can all blame the kids.

But seriously... I hope the movie designers take a look at that kind of stuff.
I'd love He-Man to look something like that in the movie! Can you imagine!?!

Well, good news! I got there right at 10 this morning, got all 6 copies that I needed without the cashier questioning the quantity at all, AND they rang up at the $17.99 sale price that they SHOULD be at, rather than the $19.99 listed in the ad for my local area!

All in all, it's a good day to be a MOTU fan!
