I remember wondering as a kid why Mattel did all those versions of He-Man and Skeletor over the years and never actually produced the versions seen in the movie...

Anyway... Seems it won't be happening now either.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy the rights of the movie characters so Mattel can release them in the MOTUC line after all...

I guess that MGM has the rights to those designs now. Mattel should just offer a deal with MGM, it's not like MGM has any plans for those designs. Why not make some money off them, even if its small?

While I remain a fan of the movie and a firm follower of the Cult of Lubic, I wouldn't want likenesses of (most of) the actors. That being said/typed, I would surely pick up figures of He-Man, MAA, Skeletor, Evil Lyn, with toy-sculpt faces wearing the movie designed costumes. I would gladly purchase Gwildor, Blade, Saurad, or even Julie and Kevin, though. (Maybe not Kevin, but if I had a Julie, I could also have Monica, and she could keep Grayskull spotless (except for a very messy closet which no one would know about.) Then her mom/Sorceress would come over and still nitpick.)

Now I know this ain't ever gonna happen, but I can just imagine how cool he would look - and they could even make him more like his movie representartion (sticking with the black and silver theme) as portrayed by Anthony DeLongis ...

They CAN make Blade, Saurod and Gwildor in MOTUC. They CAN'T make anyone that never made it into the original line. So He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Teela, the Sorceress, Skeletor (and the God-like Skeletor variant) Beast Man, Evil-Lyn, Karg, Skeletor's troopers, Lubic, Kevin and Julie aren't getting figures until Mattel secures the rights from whomever has them.

MOTUC Blade is just the type of figure I am really waiting on! Just imagine how cool he'd be. He is one that seems tailor made for this line and encompassing a part of The Masters of the Universe we haven't seen in awhile.

If they do any of the characters from the movie(which is only 3), I`d want them to be modeled after the MOTU Movie comic. All the characters who appeared in the movie had their normal look in the comic, as opposed to the live action movie counter parts

It would be so cool in someday when they are point of releasing Blade, Saurod & Gwildor, they actually make He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Evil-lyn, Beastman and maybe even Karg & Lubic in movie style. I want THE WHOLE MOVIE LINE !!!

short term solutions to long term problems. it always gets you into this kind of mess. The Toronto gov't has been guilty of this for years and now they want to sell the CN tower for some quick cash, I can see it being turned into condos if they sell it.

That movie Skeletor looks awesome. Seeing him in figure form, he almost looks like he could be a separate character to Skeletor, like the evil ruler of Despondos (or whatever the dimension was originally called), the dimension where Skeletor originally came from in the mini comic "He-Man and the Power Sword." He makes the mini comic (and even Filmation) Skeletor look more like one of his generals.

I would DEFINITELY be into any and every movie-related MOTUC-figure!

Not sure about actor-likeness tho, might be hard to set up, and perhaps not even desirable.

I'd go absolutely balistic with joy if we ever saw a Movie She-Ra tho! Or a Movie-Skelly! Or perhaps a Moebius-concept He-man.

Where are these movie concept designs for She-Ra? Is there a link or pictures?

I want Saurod and Blade for sure! Karg would be pretty cool too. I liked the film, as a kid i loved it just because it was He-man, even though through adult eyes its very far removed from MOTU other than in names.
