I think he means because you said he had a camera for a head. In MOTU nothing is strange.. people have guns in their bodies and chests (Rio Blast), cannons for arms (Hurricane Hordak), Mekaneck's neck, Spikor's trident hand, Man-E-Face's (seeming unlimited) faces. With all this going on, it just doesn't seem very far-fetched to have a camera for a head.

Thus, I have no attachment to Fearless Photog in the MOTU universe myself. I'd rather see every real character (MOTU, POP, NA, He-Ro, Eldor, Star Sisters, etc.) released before a Photog was considered.

I could be wrong, and Sir Reilly may correct me if i am, but i think his statement was meant to be read as something like "the idea of a character with a camera for a head sucks" than "the idea of a character with a camera for a head is too far out for motu".

    Not exactly.
I understand why (some, several?) fans would want a Photog. But for me, his design is a weak one - too similar to Sy-Klone, with a head that's extremely weird even for this brand and its wide range of characters.
Gotta admit though that I totally dig Gwildor though he looks even less like a typical Masters figure. *shrugs*

Oh, don't get me wrong, I by and large want to see ALL the characters we know and love first, as well as those who didn't get toys before (Marlena, etc). I'm just saying IF Mattel were to make him, I wouldn't see a problem with buying him just like everybody else in the line.

I don`t want to see any figs from that stupid MOTU wannabe movie! I don`t want Gwildor, Sourod, Blade, movie Beastman and Evil-lyn etc and no movie versions. of He Man and Skeletor! That would be a total waste of the better part of a whole year releasing characters from the movie! If they are going to do that I`d rather them do it at the end after all the main characters we want have been released. I really can`t stand that movie.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but I can't understand all of the Gwildor hate that I'm always reading.

Everyone thinks its funny to bash that character, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I know I'm in the minority, but I love Gwildor (and the rest of the movie). He was a funny (gotta love Billy Barty) and intelligent character. The little guy friggin' invented inter-dimensional travel! In MotU mythology, he has an intellect that would put Man-At-Arms to shame.

As for Gwildor being a cheap Orko knock-off... I prefer Gwildor.
I know the movie creators couldn't make Orko due to budget/technological difficulties, but I think they ultimately came up with a great character. Don't get me wrong, I like Orko. However, Orko was an annoying little pest 90% of the time. He rarely did anything constructive and mostly ended up wrecking things. I understand that he was meant to be comic relief, and I can accept that.

I wouldn't want any diehard Orko fans to go without an Orko figure (or any other particular character).
I just wish the anti-Gwildor/movie camp would extend Gwildor fans the same courtesy.

I want all the characters to get a fair shot because every character has some fans who really want them to get made.

I don`t hate Just Gwildor lol I hate the entire movie project, like I said earlier if they release all the major main characters first, I have no problem with what comes afterwards, it also gives us choice without have to miss a certain month`s release because they released Gwildor instead of say Roboto or someone like that. There are some who may not be interested in the movie characters, Pop, or Na, so if those are left to last it works out for everyone. The ones who wanted only Motu get that and the other get to continue on buying the Pop and Na afterwards.

I think that one of the reasons why people don't want certain characters to be remade is because they don't want them to show up again in any of the MOTU media like cartoons or movies. My list, which is admittedly incomplete and just what I had on the top of my head, primarily exists based on what characters I never want to see again and wish never existed (the variants part of the list is simply cuz variants bug me). I for one feel that if they do show up in the line, it makes it more likely that they will show up again elsewhere, which I think is likely a shared feeling. At the end of the day, I don't really care what characters get made into new toys in that I don't begrudge a collector from getting what he wants, but I do care insofar as it may mean that said character is possibly more likely to be brought back in the future movie or toons.

Incidentally for what it's worth, I have a softspot for Gwildor too.

Agreed, and I think he should petition. Although there wasn't anything harbored against Mattel for a figure release on the creator's behalf, they should've at least made a prototype just for him and fulfilled the main attraction to that particular contest which was seeing your creation turned into a toy.

I totally agree that he should've gotten a prototype. As a matter of fact, I was thinking about it earlier today when he came up in this thread.

btw does anyone know what happened to the guy? Like what he did with his life and if he's still a motu fan at all?

If I had my way, I wouldn't want Prince Adam and Cringer to come back. I dislike the whole secret identity thing. It's pointless. Skeletor attacks Randor regardless. And in media we have to waste a minute of screentime or a few comic panels to show Adam running off to change into He-Man. And that's if he changes easily. If somehow, he can't change (his sword is away from him, people are watching him, he's unconscious) it's a real disadvantage. But I know Mattel isn't backing up THAT far.

I would be happy if they mad every character that ever appeared in any cannon...sticker books, comics, movie, cartoon's, everything and everyone. I would buy them all. Even if a character may not be uber high on my list, or even if i dont know who it is, id still buy it and be excited by it. I just LOVE all of MOTU!

    So to answer the question...NONE

As far as I know there's no new information beyond what was provided in this thread http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...=nathan+bitner

Basically he's in Iraq as a medical specialist in the army, last anyone heard.
Once Photog is announced for MOTUC, I will have no idea what to put here.

THANK YOU! this is what I've always been saying. Yes yes, you personally don't like Gwildor, but the "cheap Orko knockoff" argument always raises my dander. Yes, he was the fill-in for Orko, but he is ultimately nothing like Gwildor other than being the short tag along. Orko was a kid appeal wizard who screwed up everything he attempted to do, while Gwildor was an eccentric and brilliant old inventor who created the most cosmically powerful device in the universe, one so powerful that Skeletor himslef targeted the little dwarf.

Give Gwildor a break guys! I don't spend all my time saying "I hope to God that they never remake Jitsu. What a crappy character, and RACIST!"
People who say certain characters should never be remade is stupid. Throw rocks at them.

I support Filmation characters for MOTUC! Let Mattel know it's worth their while to get the rights to those characters!

As for Gwildor being a cheap Orko knock-off...

Right there with you. I loved Gwildor (AND Saurod and Blade) --- they were awesome... and at the time, I just was so drawn into the hype of the movie, that i didn't care that King Randor, Marlena, Orko, Adora/She-Ra, Tri-Klops, TRap Jaw, etc. weren't there... it was a great balance of old and new...

and Gwildor is NOT like Orko... yes, both are funny, and both have wisdom... in WAY different ways... but Gwildor created the cosmic key... Orko didn't have that kind of skill... but then Gwildor couldn't use magic.

I also liked Gwildor a lot because he was a cool looking figure (to me) and I got him around the time I got the Sorceress, (I think... or maybe I just remember it that way because in my playing he was like her assistant)... but he was a LARGE part of play for me with the Eternia playset.

As for who I don't care to see now?

    Rotar
    Twistoid
    Horde Trooper
LooKee (I LOVE his classic figure, but there are others I'd rather see)
A Want List: Starburst She-Ra doll, Slamurai, Concept Snake Troopers, Slime Pit He-Man

Mini Comic Tri-Klops, Toy costume Catra, Enchantress, Kayo, Joya, Lt. Andra, Storm, Twiggets, Melaktha, Spirit, Kothos, Master Sebrian, Scrollos, 200X Sorceress, King Miro. Filmation: Adora, Marzo, Leech, Entrapta, Glimmer, Bow, Catra w/ Cat Form, Mermista, Moss Man, Kobra Khan, Whiplash, Multi-Bot

If I had to pick who i didn't want brought back, it would be all the various varients of HM & Skel which killed the previous toyline. If there's no action features then they're pointless imo, like dragon blaster, thunder punch, battle armor etc. If they don't have the action features that made them appealling from the start, don't bother bringing them back.
same for stonedar & rokkon, if they can't change into ''rocks'', then why bother making them? or the 2 spinning legless guys, or the meteorbs. If they can make them with their action features like the originals, then i'd say bring them on!!

I don't mean to upset or offend anyone, but i thought the motu movie stunk. Even back in the day when my sister took me to see it, i was disappointed that it didn't have alot of my faves from the cartoon, and HM wasn't presented as being 'the most powerful man in the universe' and no Adam, cringer/battlecat, randor/marlena, and it was just plain bad, bad, bad. the only saving grace that movie had was the ending where the kids get sent back in time to save the one kid's parents. that part was good.

that said, i never got any of the movie figures at the time; but that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy them now, especially if they were improved upon (same with the NA line, which i also thought was crap, but would buy them if they matched the motu toyline better than the originals, also i wasn't into pop, but would buy them now if they matched up to the motu figures).

i certainly would not want to deny anyone from getting their fave characters remade, i have ones i'd like to see brought back myself.

But i do hope they steer clear of any & all varients untill all the ''characters'' get made first. Still, I want to see them all return, so bring them on!!!!
The only 'varients' i want to see are the 'new' 80's versions and myp 200x versions with the added articulation. 80's clawful, myp clawful; 80's webstor, myp webstor, and so on.
Lifelong fan of: MOTU, G.I.Joe, Transformers, most 'good' movies of any genre, Star Wars, oldies/classic rock & country music, WWE/WWF/WCW/NWA wrestling, old school circus sideshow performers & fictional movie 'creatures', my friends and family. oh, yes...and I love action figures!!!!!

I basically want everyone-- though the variant numbers I hope are kept very low. I found it easy to include the movie guys in with everyone else-- Blade became Triklops' pupil, etc. And there's nothing wrong with Gwildor-- I always thought of him as a widget.
