    Blackstar in the MOTUC?

In the new Joe line they are using Matt Trakker from the MASK toyline. I don't collect that line but that is a really cool idea.

So if Flimation gave the ok and figured out a way to use there characters in the new toyline. Could it be possible to get a Blackstar figure. There was a bronze statue of Blackstar in the Motu episode Temple of the sun.

It would be really cool. Many feel that Blackstar paved the way for Motu. And there are way too many similarites.

I love Blackstar and think it'd be awesome.
I wonder who owns the Blackstar license? Is Filmation still a business entity that would hold those licenses?
Galoob did the toys back in the day.

But yeah, I'd love to see that. A 4HM Blackstar, Mara, Overlord etc. It'd be cool for sure!

I'm so down for this! As stupid as it probably sounds I would also love to see a Bravestar included in MOTUC, maybe as a counterpart to Reo Blast. But since both are probably owned by ER there's fat chance of that happening!
PRO CLASSIC POP TOY DESIGN ELEMENTS BEING USED IN MOTUC TO COMPLEMENT THE FILMATION DESIGNS!!!!

I FULLY SUPPORT THE INCLUSION OF ILLUMINA IN MOTUC!!!!!

This talk has got me thinking--

Would also be great if a company could do a 'variety' line of cartoon character figures. With, say, each release of figures having to do with a different cartoon (or have a "mixed bag", with a character or 2 from different cartoons in each release of figures).

    Absolutely not.

Blackstar is not and never will be a He-Man character. He got to appear in some rubble as a statue in an episode, that is the one and only throw back. And, that only happened, because the same company did the cartoon. Blackstar is a failed property. The three eyed fish from the Simpsons (or whatever) appears in an MYP He-Man episode. I don't think we want that released as a He-Man figure.

We have plenty of legitimate characters through classics MOTU, POP, and New Adventures.

It would be cool but stick to MOTU for now. Besides I think this was tried before and now we have "Savage/Wanderbread" He-Man

    Makes sense doesn't it??

I wouldn't mind seeing a few make it into the line. I had a few as a kid and have bought a couple MOC.

I'd want a figure for Blackstar's buddy, Klone! Thats something I don't recall seeing in MOTU mythos - a shapeshifter.

For a MOTU CROSS OVER, I think the best is the universe from Conan !

    Especially the Remco Line.

Here is an extract of the fight between MATTEL and REMCO about the rights and the Motu Line :

    Read it !

    Conan New Line

    Or Thundercats !!

    what's your advice ??

Blackstar was and never will be popular enough to have his own figure again.
I'll be very surprised if Mattel will want to make it's cheap rival.

Just so folks know, I have nearly complete collection of MIB Blackstar toys so I like it. But it was a totally crap property lets face it!

This would be awesome. He did make a small cameo, albeit as a statue, in the filmation toons. They should do this, with a bronze statue variant!

They could have a seperate classics line for all the minor series and NOT combine it with MOTU universe. Tying everything Filmation made together as one universe is a bad idea. Can't remember any crossover that has actually been good, usually just messes up the fiction if considered "canon".

I am sure its good profit to see Superman fight against/with Transformers or something, as for some reason people are still dying to see their favourite character fight against/with another favourite character. The story ends in some sort of stand-off because fans of neither character cannot be disappointed.

I am sure there are a lot who disagree since these crossovers sell, but to me they are just easy cash-ins from the companies and do not really respect the original fiction/vision of the story.

Sad but so very true! As much as I like the property it isn't that strong and it will never be.

I wouldn't want Blackstar in the MOTUC line. There are too many cool MOTU characters still to do to start diluting the line with crossovers. Perhaps in 5 years we can look at fringe characters that might fit in this line but for right now, concentrate on the MOTU figures and their continuing improvement. Besides, Blackstar wasn't that great of a property. Maybe the idea was good but the execution was not. Have you watched a Blackstar cartoon recently? I bought the series DVD set for nostalgia sakes because I remember watching the show and fell asleep about halfway through episode 3. Not very entertaining. I had more fun watching the Groovie Ghoulies.

Evil-Lyn and S. Weaver are kind off shapeshifter. Well, they use those disguise spells anyway!

But as shapeshifters goes, Hordak and Imp comes to mind!

    Modulok and Muli-Bot too!

Double Trouble was supposed to be a shapeshifter as well. It was implied in those old POP Coloring Books!
