Well... I'm torn about the SDCC exclusive. Honestly, I don't want Marlena... but since I'm missing all the OTHER SDCC exclusives, I guess I'm glad they put her in THAT slot.
But can someone answer for me WHY they care about her?? She's only had one maybe two showings where she did something other than sit on the throne... What's the point of this figure??
WHY does everyone seem to want her?? At least King Randor is 'THE KING' and had some POTENTIAL as a warrior character... but really?? MARLENA??
She's He-man's MOM... When you were a kid did you REALLY miss 'He-man's Mom?'

-Her few awesome appearances (both Filmation and MYP)
-She's He-Man's Mom. (we got Teela's mom and she's as useful outside of Grayskull as you think Marlena is)
-She completes a set (The Royal Family) Not having Marlena is like having the Fantastic 4 without Sue Storm.
-Not all displays HAVE to be epic battles. Marlena would be more useful in those. (She also works as a nice hostage for battle displays... Kidnapping Teela undermines her position as Captain of the Guard and as a Heroic Warrior. Adora is freaking She-Ra, Adam is He-Man and Randor is a warrior King... Makes sense that Marlena is little miss Kidnappable)
FYI I'd buy the heck out of Ma Kent and May Parker...(If their respective toylines would release them...)

Just the fact that she is part of the MOTU canon is enough for me to want her. On top of that, she is the only one from the royal family that hasn't been made yet, and she did have some awesome scenes in the Filmation series. I like the look of her, and I think she is underrated and misjudged as someone who can't pack a punch. Plus, though it is somewhat controversial, she bring Earth in to the mix of the story, which I find interesting. Her backstory from the Filmation series makes her someone we can relate to in this world that is basically a bunch of aliens to us.
Marlena, Mer Man, Man-at-arms, Palace Guards, Whiplash, King Hisss, Battle Cat, Megator, The Goddes, Leech, Moss Man.

I love that they reused(or preused) Adoras outfit for her, it looks different and still connects them.

Thought I originally posted as a response in the SDCC reveals topic, but would perhaps be better asked in here on reconsideration - now there's Pulplady Marlena for a counterpart to Big Cross Randor, what does this do to demand for her Ambassador duds, which seemed to mostly centre on a desire for a "Battle Armour" instead of/in addition to her dress?
With that addressed in a different way (and using her classic emerald green clothes/red hair colour palette), is it just the fans who really want 200X versions of everything who would want that as a variant this side of 2017?
Space lady Marlena is before she arrived on Eternia and the occasional flight suit. Like the green dress, MYP Marlena and her battle armor costume is while she's a queen. I think the MYP battle armor works better on Eternia than the flight suit does (this is more for the occasional flying mission.
This thread will probably be taken over for the MYP Marlena and her variant after August.

Well, to be fair, you're the archetypical "wants more 200X in MotUC" fan, and possibly aren't the best person to judge
And as I just posted in the Rainbow Warrior review thread, I *like* that this middle-aged Earthling wasn't a notable hand-to-hand combatant in Filmation unlike all the Eternians, but was still able to take a combat role in line with her own training [sure, she comes with a sword, but that's probably ceremonial - everyone at court has a sword or other bladed/massive weapon, and the Queen can't be an exception! I'm sure that if it came to her being involved in a serious fight, Man-at-Arms could supply her with some workable gunpowder & bullets for her guns.]
I don't see them doing a MYP white-dress Marlena this side of 2020, if ever - they can't even twin it with a white "spacesuit" repaint since that Marlena has bare arms! And red/blue armour Marlena... more plausible, but a lot less so than it was before we saw Cpt. Glenn.
Not sure how that would come across these days...Still, they've already announced that her Cpt. Glenn tagline will be "Heroic Galactic Adventurer".
And since I've just been reminded - has she ever been depicted as a Captain before? She was a Lieutenant in Filmation.
I really like her green space suit it makes her more unique, every one has white space suits but some of you guys photoshopped her white and at first i couldn´t say who it really reminded me off but than i knew.
In white she looks like Padmé from Episode 2 (even the eyebrow fit) and there for i´m really happy they went a different way with Marlena. Don´t get me wrong i´m a huge Padmé fan but she is Padmé and Marlena is Marlena and giving the Queen her own adventurers look is awesome, if you ask me.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but has anyone noticed that capt. Glenn's rifle bears a striking resemblance to the rifles the bravestarr figures came with?
I don't know if that's been mentioned. I don't remember what those look like, to be honest. Though we do know it's an homage to the rifle in the MOTU movie He-man carries.
Now that u mention it, I see that now. I know the pistol was an Easter egg to look like teelas from the movie. However, it has alot of similarities to the bravestarr one. I'd post pics, but for some reason they are not loading.....
It's the rifles that were used by Skeletor's black armored minions in the MOTU movie. That's it. The 4H threw that Easter Egg in just for fun. The did the same with Adora's pistol.

Nah, I doubt that could work. You'd either have a blue Captain Glenn, or a white BA Marlena, and I'd rather get BA Marlena right than a variant of Captain Glenn that, at least for me, is far from needed. If they find a way to make a white-suited Captain Glenn, great for people who want her, but I'd like to get the Battle Armor version correct if we get her at all.

I guess they DID make Shadow weaver a little fast, cause Queen Marlena could have totally benefited from an articulated hip dress part... Marlena is the least poseable of all figures. I never really was a fan of Marlena anyway, but I'm just sayin'... For a future update!

It's kind of pointless on Shadow Weaver. Since she doesn't bend at the knees, it's like lying a bell on it's side. Since she's hollow...you see up her empty dress. Also, the crotch part and dress are so close together, it might wreck the plastic. She also won't be able to fit in any vehicles because of the thickness of her skirt. I just don't see any point in it at all.
For all characters that have dresses or floor-length robes, I would like to see them done in 1 of 2 ways:
1) Removable "skirts" that can be replaced with cloth.
2) Standing "skirt" and sitting "skirt"
