motuc gigantisaur?

I was watching my 1987 mattel catalog where the giant gigantisaur was showed to all of us. Finally it never was produced, like he-ro, eldor or the evil horde robot.

Well, perhaps now mattel could be produce this awesome masterpiece into motuc line. The 4H love the creatures and playsets (according to toyfare mag) and if all of us support the line... THE REAL GIANT MONSTER COULD BE PRODUCED!!

What do you think guys? you like it? you want this creature into the new line?

A behemoth of that size would cost half a fortune and need a REALLY successful line to be profitable, even if it was in scale of the vintage line instead of the MotU Classics.
Nonetheless, I'd like to see Mattel produce him (along with He-Ro, Eldor and the Gyrattacker) as part of a new Commemorative Edition.

It`s very cost innefficient, to have to pay for shipping on something like that. Why does everyone want to complicate things? Just keep it simple like it`s supposed to be.

Reading the toyfare mag, 4H crew have got in mind the two Giants. They love them and I´m near sure they finally will make it for MOTUC line. So all is possible and if all go well and our support buying the line is good, the Gigantisaur will see the ray of light.

Anyway, the Gigantisaur could be produce in parts like a "build-a-figure". Thats a good idea, what do you think?

The Gigantisaur is cool, but I think I'd rather get more figures first before Mattel or the 4H consider tackling that.

I think for that thing to get made MOTUC would have to surpass the popularity and financial levels of the line in the 80's. Not impossible but at the same time not really likely.

I don't think it would be a good idea. Just imagine purchasing 6 figures with BAF parts called "Gigantisaur torso #1-#6".

I seriously think that the only way (although highly unlikely) would be to offer him as part of a MotU (vintage) Commemorative line and by saying that an amount of X hundred fans would need to preorder him in order for an actual release.

I remember when dinosaurs were a big thing back in the mid-eighties. This was simply Mattel trying to make money on it. I guess it might be cool for some, but I never was into dinosaurs. I'm all for pre-Ternia characters like He-Ro, but I won't buy any dino's.

I'd love to see it, especially if it was vintage-scaled. I'm really hoping we can at least get the Preternia figures, but this playset would be cool to have. I do think though it would be scary expensive.

If they make it, I will find a way to afford it! In the extreme chance that this does get produced, I hope they don't reduce the scale in relation to the figures. In my view, a MOTUC Gigantisaur should be bigger then the original prototype so that it is in scale with the figures!

I mostly agree with Greyskull on this one, he is pretty much just a big dino.
I think he's desirable mostly because a) he was never produced, and b) he's freaking HUGE!!

For BAF's I'd concentrate first on true must-haves like Battle Cat and Panthor, and then after that Tytus and Megator.

But honestly, I'd feel pretty lucky if we get to Roboto.
I'll feel VERY lucky if we get to Bow.
And I'll have to pinch myself if we get a MOTUC Blade.

One thing at a time, for sure.

Crap that's huge! It'd be $200.00 easily! It's bigger than the new Millennium Falcon Hasblo released for the Legacy line!

Personally I'm not too keen on this whole idea of dinos turning into battlestations... but maybe it's because I don't know the story behind the concept. I'm not familar with Preternia at all... beyond seeing the toys and protos like this.
