I wish they'd commisioned a new pic of Classic Grayskull for the background. MYP Grayskull is okay, but I think the Classic would have hit on more of the nostalgia-factor of the line.
Full page ads?!!! He-Man and Beast Man have one each. Nice!
MYP Castle Grayskull is in the background of the He-Man ad. I think Beast Man has a MYP background too. This would be hot if this were a monthly thing in Toyfare...

Cool!
Is He-Man's face all glossy?
But seriously, as long as sales are good it might just be a monthly (or at least frequent) thing.![]()

That's pretty cool. I was looking for Toyfare at the book store the other night and could not find it! I haven't bought an issue of that in a long, long time.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

This issue has The Comedian from Watchmen on the cover.

OMG!!! did it really go out like that.
Magazine ads are fine, but it's still not enough advertising. I'd like to see the numbers of how many toyfare magazine's are purchased and then how many of those buyers are MOTU fan's. I just don't think Mattel is doing enough to push the figures. What Mattel really needs to do is a TV commercial.
Don't hesitate in dealing with Cilman Thread
I'm torn about the Castle Grayskull artwork. I was half expecting something all together new - like the version they created for the con (my avatar) rather then either classic or 200x. Same with the Beastman background which is 200x as well.
My hope though is that in using these 200x art that there is the potential for continuation of that toon still in someway...(I know, I'm delusional, lol).

Saw the ads. I thought they were okay. Not crazy about the font they used. The Grayskull pic was nice though. I'm guessing they just used whatever Hi-Res art they had on hand.
Thanks for those linksl! Hope those will help spread the word!
I agree on using the Classic Grayskull . . . IMO the *only* CG, really.
If Mattel doesn't want to use the (awesome) Classic artwork of CG, then they do have other options *coughcoughhirenatebaerschcoughcough*![]()
Weird how they have no visible articulation...
Take a look at my deviantart. http://kaassouffle.deviantart.com/gallery/
Yeah, I just got the issue and this is kind of blowing my mind. Why on Eternia would they airbrush the articulation out when that's kinda the MAIN point of this line, to say "HEY! Look everybody! These new MOTU figures have more articulation than ANY He-Man figure EVER BEFORE!"
They look like statues...I'm really afraid people might look at this and think they're doing more stactions but in the classic style.

It's also because they photographed the 4H's prototype, and their in-house casts always have much more seamless-looking articulation than can ever be achieved by the factories.
