    Skeletor Trademark Dead?

Does this mean Mattel wants nothing more to do with Skeletor? It says they abandoned the trademark last month.

I see an unemployed Skeletor joke in this somewhere...
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

I hope not, with Skeletor being the greatest villain ever (yes even over ol' Hector kur).

I really doubt Mattel would let Skeletor and others go.

Interesting, but I wouldn't mske much of it. That would almost be on par with Disney letting Mickey Mouse go. (Almost.)
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

Also, if the trademark is currently dead/abandoned, does that mean someone else can pick it up?

This is a servicemark for online contests, games, and trivia. The trademark for action figures and toys is still active.

I was wondering the other day how this clothing company is getting away with using Skeletor for a line of jeans.

Mattels legal should be all over these guys for using the name. Mainly cause Skeletor is awesome and this place is not.

    Go get em Mattel!

I'm guessing it's because Mattel currently doesn't currently hold a copyright for Skeletor apparel or they don't know about these jeans.

Speaking of which, what's up with this? http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-Triclop.../dp/B000QSNGL6

Don't know about the font, but word "he-man" existed long before there was company named Mattel.

Word "he-man" means something like "A manly, virile man, a strong man with well-developed muscles who avoids anything suggesting femininity"

I know that but does it get spelt with a capital "M"?
The font is the same font (or at least VERY similar) to the 80's toy font.

It is likely that Mattel is not aware of the use of the marks. Since the use of the marks is not likely to cause consumer confusion, these would be instances of trademark dilution, not trademark infringement.
