Warlord! I love it! I totally had that figure as a kid, and we always played him like a wise old warrior that He-Man and co had to call in when Skeletor was whuppin 'em.

This is one of my favorite threads - love that it's getting updated more often recently!

Ah ah! Glad to see others fans of Warlord out there, it was a great toy-line!
    Now this:

Just a remake of our old chum Whiplash, and this:

He's my custom version of Spectror, a COTU character created by Galaxy Warrior, he's the previous wielder of the havoc staff, scarred this horribly way by Skeletor. He gained new powers due his new weapon, the shyte of doom, which gives him the power to instil fear, to become invisible and to phase through solid things.
He is evil and wicked beyond redemption and seek out for revenge on Skeletor (like it's was an easy thing...)

    Now three unreleted concept:

Really, I can't believe nobody ever thought about it, a MOTU version of Bow! Surely the first thing he would say if he just pop in Eternia would be: Hey, where are all the babes I was stickin' around with?
The custom concept is Randor body and armor with a fresh repaint and a, uh, bow...

And good old Travis Morgan, I know the Mike Grell version is the best, in the comics, but here we're talkink about action figures!

And another version of Fisto, the first was good, but lacked of the sword!
the middle one, wasnt there a guy from this line with bblack hair and leopard or tiger lion cloth and came with a dagger? if so you ever draw him?

Hmmm, I don't remember him, look here:
    http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...ld_warlord.htm
Tell me if you recognize him and I'll do what I can.

Now this, he's a custom character I just finished.

He's Beast-rider a mounted beast warrior from vine jungle ( or the Berzerker island if you like...), his figure will be on line soon.

Some of these are really cool!

Would you not consider giving these some simple shading?

DAmn! Never seen this art before! But like Bootleg once said, great minds thinks alike!
Well, I assure you, just coincidence.
Leoghan_Arak is part of my collection, as soon as work leaves me time I'll make a Remco ultraclassic on him.

I post this Kali-gore ultraclassic, it's a custom figure I recently posted in the custom forum

Maybe turnig Mer-man in a cat like creature is not that original idea but, well, it turned out pretty well...

    http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...2FArak_(comics)

    ...and another Warrior Beast guy:

He's Snake-man, he is the only WB AF that still evades my grasp, I just can't found him with his tail still!
I'm ultraclassing some of my custom project, I'll post 'em once the figures are done.

For Leoghan_ The link didn't works, just search "Arak, son of thunder" on wikipedia.

I'm really liking your drawings of these characters for I'm a fan of the Sword & Sorcery comics of the 80s ! I also have a piccolissimo request, any chance you could do Arion of Atlantis? He was also a part of DC's Warlord mythos and a part of that toyline you're drawing as well!

    These are great!

Could you do Evil-Lyn again (the one below) in her 200x colour scheme instead? It would be appreciated in the same way as your black Zodak. (Obviously, she'd be white-skinned and have a purple outfit.)

    Dear danbrenus,

A thousand thank you's for all the SPLENDID artwork ! Wow ! You blew me away !

Just a little question: why don't you try your very own comic ??? You are very gifted ! Why not ?

    Two more suggestions :

    1) Do you have any "brand new", original danbrenus-created character out of your imagination, and which doesn't take parts from existing MOTU characters ?

    2) May I ask you a little favor : could you please draw your version of Stan Winston's "Realm of the Claw" characters in the "master ultraclassic" style ? I would just love it if you would give it a try...

Anyway, take it easy. You worked already so hard ! But I truly loved all of your pics !

And your Orko is so baddass ! It looks like Orko would have been pumped up and strengthened by the Horde itself !

danbrenus! been a while since i had the chance to stop in and comment, but i assure you that i'm lurking frequently, and digging this thread.

i would love to see your custom thunder-punch! please, by all means, post some photos!

i don't plan on making a non-he-man version of prince adam--the one thing from the 200x continuity that i think they really got right was making adam a normal teenager, so when i get to adam, i'll make some kind of a hybrid between the 200x version and the classic version. i am a fan of both the barbarian he-man from the mini-comics, as well as the filmation version... i do have a way of resolving this, i believe...

of course there's a theme here... magnificent moustaches!

once again, you're doing a fantastic job on these... your ultraclassic versions of the blackstar cast are fantastic, as are your own creations. of your original characters, i think kali-gore is the most best. he's really striking!

Hey Bootleg! It's about time you show up, we missed you, how about some new art? I'm still working on my Thunder-punch ( Thunder-O as I named him), soon I'll give him some spotlight.
Thanks guys, your support means a lot to me. Now some new things:
First of all Arion, you're right Block, he's a character full of potential, I'm arguing why he wasn't in the Remco line too. Here's a "custom" version, he's made by a regular Remco body, a Galaxy Fighters armor, a cape and a Remco wrestling figure head I have in my fodder, maybe I'll make a custom one day...

Then a new characters I show some weeks ago in the custom figures forum, Valgard the barbarian warlord.

For Spectror, thank's friend, I don't know about Stan Winston's "Realm of the Claw", is it a novel, a comic or a movie?
I'm a 35 artist with a wall shelfed with comics, another with fantasy and sci-fi books and one more full of 80's action figures...I have an army of characters created by me living their lives in my head!
In the 90's I tryied with comics but here in Italy the industry is poorly considered. Thank's again

Hey Dan, I’m totally thrilled you went and did Arion like that, love the flashy colors and the magician-esqe pose you made for him! DC released a new Travis Morgan: Warlord series recently, wet sadly there seems to be no interest in bringing back Arion of Atlantis, but then the way DC has been treating Aquaman (whom Arion IS remotely associated with along with the whole DC Atlantis mythos), that’s probably a good thing at the time. You weren’t too keen on my Filmation style Teela suggestion, but glad you agreed on Arion, I remember seeing an old Remco ad page on one of my comics of that character and how he was among others you’ve done like Warlord, and Arak,.. The others were Hercules Unbound, and some other Warlord characters like the villain Deimos and Mikola, also Machiste whom other than the old Italian Sword & Sandal films I’m not familiar with but I think is also from Warloard (this one’s black and reminds me more of Zula from Conan).
I hear ya, I got tons of comics that I really don’t have room for and used to have tons of the original He-man figures among others, now I have several of the new stuff displayed on top of my bookshelf. I’d love to work somewhere in the comics industry here in the US. But it seems you have to have an art school degree to have your stuff taken seriously. I’m not sure what the comics industry in italy is like but from what I’ve seen the Japanese Manga style seems to be dominant there after seeing some sites and Enzo Troiano’s art. Thank the nostalgic gods that us fans of the classics can network like this. BTW, did you see the recent comments I left you on your DA page?

Realm of the Claw is a really cool toyline (a Toys'R'Us exclusive, if I remember right) AND a comic designed by Stan Winston (the guy who sculpted the Aliens for the movie !).

Stan Winston's sculpt is as wonderful as the 4 Horsemen's !

You can find more about this awesome comic/toyline here :

http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...ndexFlash.html (the comic, with a preview, and the figures).

I believe these might spark your interest...

I know becoming a comic artist is very hard, but why wouldn't you create your blog or website with some of your work on it, or even a couple of stories ? You could even begin with posting the "MOTU Ultraclassic" drawings ! Just an idrea...
My cousin's husband, who is into comic drawing too, is doing just that, whenever he has the time.
