I think you're right there.
I'm sure it's just the fact that the run of figures will be more limited so the cost goes up. But I definitely think Mattel needs to be aware that the higher the price point, the higher the expectations of the product. I'm considering getting two of He-man because of this problem, and maybe getting rid of the one that looks the worst. But I can't/don't want to do that with every figure. It looks like the one reviewed on actionfigureinsider.com (the first early review) has a better paint app on the cross, but it's hard to tell.
Sometimes wonky paint apps aren't as noticeable in real life either. I'm willing to give the line some leeway and I'm still excited, but I am more nervous now.
Oh, and in reply to Alessandra...
I'm wondering that too. It does seem VERY odd that the ORG doesn't have samples yet. Although maybe they're on their way?
