Seriously what are they thinking giving Hordak a name like that?
That's the worst name on a MOTU ever IMO.

Who comes up with those names? Is it a 3 year old?

Everything is good except for these two major points...

• Hec-Tor Kur? Is that supposed to be a shout out to the guy who thought up Hordak? Howcum "Hordak" has to be an alias? Why can't it be his name? I'm not against giving some history and depth to these characters, but I think some of these names are terrible!

• And "Second born heir??" Oy. Not Horde Prime... At least "Hec-Tor" is leader of his own army, so that whole Hordak is basically an "office manage of Etheria" aspect could be ignored...

Notice...Hordak is basically were he was when we last saw him, still trapped in Despondos. Nothing on him getting free and which world he is menancing, Eternia or Etheria.

This is the first bio I don't realy have problems with.
Must be because stick so much to existing info.
And it doesn't rule out Horde Prime which makes me totally happy
(Which is obviuosly the first born)

OMG!!!! I think that name is terrible!!! Hector??? Come on!!! Enough allready. Why can't they come up with cool names?! They are all lame up until now and I thank god King Grayskull wasn't ruined with a "real name".

Horde Prime's real name is probably Achil-Lies.

Yo, someone has to get ahold of Toyguru and tell him about these un-Eternian real names and also to get him to drop the last names. Do some major league name retcons with the bios on the re-releases.

It was in Hordak's bio on the DVD. But that was a mistake, and that bio ended up on the DVD because of an error.

This new bio is obviously referring to Horde Prime.
But it doens't mean they can do him. For once, they are doing something wise and not mentioning him while not ruling him out as well.
That's totally fine on my book.

-well he COULD have been freed when keldor became skeletor. it could be part of the agreement for saving his life that he be freed. he could have then stole an heir of greyskull and took it back to where he came from as a twisted sort of revenge

EXACTLY! they finally did a tip of the hat incase things work out in their favor but didnt tip it too much that legal troubles would come their way. the bios REALLY need more of these winks and nods that get around legal issues

EXACTLY!!!! people like mer-man and beast were but one of a species. Fisto, mekanek, stinkor etc were not born that way so they would of course have a given name instead of their new moniker.

First, I like Hordak's bio a lot. Outside of the name, this is one of the best so far. I hope they're not planning on bringing in Horde Prime or even mentioning his name, but a reference to him is cool with me and a nice nod to the fans.

Second, I don't care for the name. I'm hoping it has some kind of meaning or reasoning behind it, but when I first read it I laughed out loud. Part of it is we're used to these characters not having names, but at the same time, some of these just aren't very inspired.

If they hadn't included them, I wouldn't have missed them, but since they did, I find that they add something. What that something is, I don't know, but I like it.

We embrace "Keldor" because it has ties to the original minicomics, most of these new ones do not, and that, for me is a good reason to give them something, other than a name that describes their 'power'.

Hec-Tor is the name his parents gave him and called and just like a lot of people, I'm sure he hated his name, hence taking the name Hordak when he landed on Eternia. Can't recruit an army with the name Hec-Tor...lol. Besides, the only person who would really know his real name would be He-Ro, since they were fighting each other before reaching Eternia. He-Ro would probably still call him Hec-Tor in battle the same way Randor would call Skeletor "Keldor" in battle. Anyways, all jokes aside, I don't mind his real name. I'll even further that notion by saying that Hec-Tor is a better name than Keldor, but that's just my opinion.

Also, I'm sure Skeletor didn't free Hordak since we saw Skeletor destroy his Sanctuary in "the Power of Grayskull" episode. We know Evil-Lyn & Count Marzo tried to free him, but plans didn't go so well. Maybe when they start releasing POP figures, they can make it that Catra was responsible for freeing Hordak, that way linking her to the Horde without sticking a Horde/bat emblem on her. I still can't tell how they're gonna add She-Ra to the mix though. How did they handle her origin in the POP mini-comics?

I like it, and I think it fits.

The way I see it, his name is Hordak, but he was originally called Hek-Tor. That doesn't lessen the impact of 'Hordak' a bit. and it says Hordak on the front of the card. I could understand if this thing was marketed AS Hek-Tor, but as it stands you can pretend it's not even there.
