I would rather a figure. I would love his chair too. But I would want an Eldor figure first.

To me, people's desire for Zodac's chair is a big head scratcher.

It's an accessory we've never had, but one that was shown prominently in the comics, as well as the Filmation and 200x cartoons.

I wonder, is there any toy of Metron from DC that comes with the Mobius Chair? If it were big enough to seat Zodac, that'd be about perfect!

A Zodac chair is a great idea! And parts re-use as the throne in Castle Grayskull.

It is Skeletor's FILMation throne that I desperately want however

That could be nifty, but it would have to be made to accomodate the limited sitting ability of MOTUC figures. I would love to see items like this released in the line, but they're not a priority for me.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

I think it would be a cool end-of-the-year bonus to subscribers, but I doubt there will be any cool surprises like that...

I hope next year's sub has more bonuses. We paid full price for Wundar (who was a simple repaint), so the only true bonus this year (other than avoiding the matty site some months) has been the battle cat coupon.
Photog is here! thank you, Mattel!

Now how about some mini-comics love (like Lodar, Geldor, Dakon......)? And Mermista?

Have to agree with the majority of people, other then the coupon which alot of people couldnt/didnt use to the fast sellout and other issues related to the coupon.

Instead of a coupon for a quarterly figure like battle cat couldnt they just do an automatic discount off the monthly figure. Me thinks Matty new Battle Cat was going to go fast so they werent going to lose much on the coupon offer.

A yearly sub should really have a free figure or cool accessory, we arent asking for everything just a little extra, after all we did pay for Wun-Dar in the sign up fee.

Oh, I know why people want it, I just don't know why people want it. Know what I'm sayin'? I mean it's a chair. People are clamoring for a chair. It's weird to me, but I guess there's no accounting for taste, right?

I like to have my figures posed ready for battle or heroic and menacing stances, not sitting on a chair ready to watch a 4 hour marathon of Dawson's Creek...

Metron's chair used for MOTUC Zodac

AFI has posted photos of Mattel's upcoming DC Metron and his chair.

    Photobucket

Since this is now tooled, if Mattel was to use this tool for Zodac's chair with a different paint scheme would you buy it?

I would, the chances of them do a all new chair for Zodac with the budget MOTUC has seems slim, and this Metron chair is better than nothing. The disc appears to be a separate piece so without that it's close.

Too bad MOTUC figures weren't really designed to sit upright in a chair.

DC doesn't like sharing parts, and to be honest I'd want a more accurate chair, myself.

It can't be used since it's a DCU mold, something something, DC got mad when they saw that the MOTUC Birds shared parts with the DCUC Birds... but Zodac NEEDS his chair!!

Zodac is already enough of a rip off; no need to take the exact chair too.

I've wondered about this for awhile. Was the bird originally sculpted for MOTUC or DCUC? Any enlightment on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if Zodac were to get his Chair, I would prefer an original sculpt & preferably something that could also be tooled to act as a Vintage Toy Castle Grayskull Throne.

The only problem with these scenarios is the whole " a newly tooled chair "- how likely is that really to expect they will make a new chair, for Zodac, for entirely no reason lol? I guess as a beast slot but that would be extremely lame. I'm tempted to get the chair, take the disc off, and use the Flipshot wings to make the bottom portion and sculpt around the rest of the details.

I had no clue there was this issue with Parts from a DC toy being used for another line. I can't believe they made a stick over the bird buck.

Yes a Filmation accurate chair would be awesome but in a pinch this chair could work. But I guess not if DC doesn't like to share their toys.

I suppose if they ever make a Grayskull and the throne is in it, they could color it white, attach the sled piece, and sell it separately.

I still think they could make a "throne 2 pack for Filmation Skeletor, Zodac/Grayskull Playset throne/King Randor throne.

I would buy 4 of this pack if they ever made it just to get a Playset throne to have... never know, a Zodac chair an repaint it myself, and 2 to use 1 for Randor an 1 for Marlena.

Plus doing this could help cut down further with grayskulls tooling, just make a plug so it can attack into grayskull.

It's more than just that in this case; a bird is bird, and thus hard to hold rights to (especially the way Mattel used them, as generic alternate forms for Jayna and Beast Boy), but the design of the Mobius Chair belongs to DC outright (although it was obviously the inspiration for Zodac's seat) . As such, any use of said design would have to go through DC for approval, and I seriously doubt DC would go along with that (from what we've heard, DC is being a real (insert derogatory word here) about the DC license in general right now, so this would definitely be out).

A chair for Metron would be cool, though, as a piece like the weapons rack. It could well be hollow, so plastic costs would be minimized, but there's still the one use mold. For something like this, Mattel could use resin like was used in the Stactions, which does not require a steel injection mold, but I don't know if that would fly with Mattel's safety standards.
