What kind of bug/animal is Mantenna?

I've been trying to work this out. We've got Scorpia, who's a scorpion obviously, Catra is a panther, Grizzlor is a bear, and Leech is kind of a toad. But what kind of animal is Mantenna supposed to be modeled after?

Leech isn't a toad he's a leech. I never really thought of Grizzlor as a bear but I suppose the name kinda suggests it. Frankly he looks more like a Sasquatch.

he's a Mant. an ant and a man. just like real leeches don't have hands or legs or ears, mantenna being a humanoind ant is acceptable for him to have ears.

well assuming mantenna is a mantis the male is generally smaller than the female so it's safe for me to assume mantisaur is the woman.

I think Mantenna is based on a mantis. Look and his design and his big eyes.
Personally he's always been an odd alien creature to me. What I have found even more odd, is discovering fan slash art of him being romantic with Grizzlor.

Yes, I love that line of Hordak's. I really wanna see the origin stories of how Scorpia, Leech, Grizzlor, and Mantenna came to be (we know a bit about Catra). If only we had awesome background info for them like we do for Shadow Weaver, that would be so cool...then again, not knowing makes it more mysterious and interesting and makes us want to...well...know! lol

Now I realized what kept bugging me about this. There's the 'saur' part. Most saurus are larger than any mantis. That isn't enough to explain it.
