The Faces of Merman..!

As I understand, we are going to get two heads along with Merman.
Anybody else going to buy dobble of him, to get both the new and classic face?!
I know I am, I'm buying three, as I am both a loose and MOC collector.

Hope they'll make extra Merman's, otherwise they're going to get sold out fast.
Same with the Troopers!

Maybe Mattel even releases two different packaging variants. In this case I'd buy 3 figures, one to open and two to keep MOC.

I like the original the most, I would love it if this line would be as true to the original as the first couple of figs are..!

Im buying 2 of each as it is now. Except KG I bought 3, 2 reg one MOCand one I opened and 1 bronze. He-man and Beastman I bought 2 of 1 to open and 1 MOC. Im not so sure if ill 3 of a figure. It will come down to the wire with that decision. Depends on money

I wonder if Mattel will notice that people are buying more of Merman because of the alt head and then look into doing it more frequently for future releases.

I'd be down with that too. I would like them both moc. Then, I would buy three, two dif mocs and one to play with, but they don't stand long for me, so I won't be displaying the poor guys anywhere until a stand or something comes along. KG, He-Man, and Beastman all keep falling down, so I put them away in a drawer, with the moc versions on display now. So here's hoping for stands!

I prefer the original 8back head. That IS Merman.
That head is awesome.

I`ll be buying 2 one for MOC and one for loose, I`ll tell ya a little secret, both heads are infact "Classic". One is the regular classic Merman head from the vintage figure and the other is exactly how he looked in the the second Mini Comic "The King of Castle Grayskull" so in escence they are both classic heads and I consider the "200x" head as the original Merman before there was a fig of him. I saw that comic before I saw his fig so that is the classic Merman head I`ll be using

I prefer the original toy head due solely to nostalgia. That being said, I’ll only display him with his card art head. Since the rest of his body being modeled after the card art (weird “fishy” neck, 4 digit hands, and yellow loin cloth) I figure the original toy head wouldn’t look right on that body. What I really want is a Merman with He-Man/Skeletor’s torso (without the weird neck), Skeletor’s hands (with 5 digits), and an orange colored loin cloth.

I'm only planning on buying one of every figure, unless it's an army builder like the Horde Trooper. I'm only going to buy one MAA regardless of how many heads he comes with. But I'm tempted to buy more than one Mer-man.

I would just buy 2 of each of key characters like Heman ans Skelly, but since Merman has 2 heads, I might buy 2 of him. I'll have to convince my wallet tho'...

I agree with this completely! I've felt for a while that doing a packaging varient with either head would be cool for the MOC guys, even if it took a little trading or shopping on the secondary market to have one of each.

Also, I prefer the 'toy' head since it reminds me of the Filmation cartoon, though I know he never quite looked like that with both orange eyes and four-fingered hands.
