    MOTUC Bio Art - Original & Un-Edited

Click here to see the Bio Arts!

Well the Bios are great addition in MOTUC figures. But the homage paid to the art used in them is something I especially like.

So I thought I'd gather the original images for all you to enjoy. Some of you know them by heart, but not all images are instantly recognazible, and others may suprise like Stratos here.

I always loved those. I used to cut them out and keep them in my box with He-man figures. That was the one thing that I missed from the 200x line.

I'ts ok! They cropped the toes out to avoid any confusion. If only the red and blue colors weren't reversed.

In the Org Album as I have the link above the images.

Can't link all images here with the 4 image limit, so just showed Skeletor and Stratos.

Good stuff and thank for showing it off here! I am proud of myself; I actually recalled all of these from their original places. Go me!
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

And stratos looks better with a gray body imo, than a flesh colored body. Man, i'm glad they changed that for the figures. and what's with that feather necklace? That stratos looks terrible imo... lol glad the new figure isn't based on that. some of those early designs look kind of bad to me, especially skeletor's face! It looks more like bad rubber mask than a terrifying ghostly skull head. Still, it's interesting to see how far along these characters have come over the years.

Well, remember, the early artwork was sometimes done really rushed, and based off of early (some even unpainted) prototypes of the toys.

While I think it's cool to have some classic art on the back I think:
    A) The scans could've been made far crisper and bigger!
    B) Why not use the card art like He-man instead of comic images and keep things consistant?!

Maybe they're thinking ahead to when we get the likes of Queen Marlena and the Green Goddess. They wouldn't be able to have card back art, so if some of the characters before have had mini comic art then it is all the same. Don't know what they will do with the likes of Marzo and the Faceless One though!

A: Yeah the images on the back of MOTUC could be a lot bigger.

B: So far, I've liked their choises. Especially Alcala-Beastman instead of what Beastie had originally.

    A) agreed - they really should have been made bigger! But well...
    B) No, it's better as it is: more variety. Plus: Alcala is great and needs to be part of it!! PLUS: I'm hoping to get my favourite depiction of Snake-Face on his card, when they get to him: mini-comic "Revenge of the Snake Men!" page 4 middle picture of the first sequence (first "line") and for King-Hiss same mini-comic page 1, 1st picture of him or alternatively page 2 middle picture of the first sequence.

Cool. I love how He-Man's throwing Skeletor around like a rag doll on that one.

Me too. But more happy with the appearance of "red wing" Stratos in the background... as he should be!

    Hello Jukka,

Thank you for showing all of those. They truly are awesome and imo, really capture a lot of the spirit that will always be "MotU" to me.

    Take Care,
    Darren
Mattel please, buy the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons from Entertainment Rights. If you owned Both Filmation related "MotU" cartoons, plus "NA" and "MYP" cartoons, you would be able to distribute any or all 4 cartoons to Television in the lead up to another relaunch or a live action movie. Plus, you could include Filmation and "NA" animated characters in "MotU:C"!

    Long Live 'MOTU'!

    OHMYGOSH! YOU TOO!

That's why I never threw away all my cardbacks because of the art. But of course my mom did anyway. But now, I've hunted 'em all again. Only missing the US version of Loo-Kee and Spinnerella!

Thanks for the art posts Jukka! Been wondering where I saw that Stratos pic from.

I also never threw away my cardbacks and kept the minicomics, even when I sold all my motu toys. I just couldn't part with them. The artwork and stories had played a huge role in reeling me in to begin with.
Anyway I had noticed where the Stratos pic had come from and found it to be a pretty questionable choice...why not something from Battle in the Clouds instead?
