It's sad that a fan's mock-up looks waaay better than what Mattel has officially been giving us packaging-wise with these things... for example, the classic character name font looks so much better than the one they're currently going with! Not to mention the inclusion of a mini-comic!![]()
Cool! So I'm no the only one who thought the classic typeface looked better! I think, in a way, it's kind of as iconic as the classic box/card art, like the classic MOTU logo of course (although I actually really do like the "updated" classic, "classics" MOTU logo.) And not only am I not a big fan of the new typeface being used, but I'm also not keen on the yellow color either, but I gotta say, I don't mind the yellow so much on the classic typeface.![]()

The fans put more thought into it than Matty.
these were 2 of my favourite toys as a kid, so i can't wait to see them in motuc! ...
i really hope mattel make them transformable so you can display them in both regular and rock form ...

well, personally - as someone else already said before - i'd be ok with rokkon and stonedar having standard bucks and stone looking detachable add-ons (which could be united to form a rock when they're not on, in a kinda saint seiya style).
Isn't this one of those "essential elements" that TG has alluded to before? If it's integral to the figure (speaking of the action feature) it will be done. But, MGM, maybe I'm just missing your point? Were you referring to articulation issues? I'd be willing to forgo some articulation in order for the Rock People to be able to properly "transform".
200X fan? Classic fan? What does that mean? I'm a MotU fan!!!
But can it be done?
With the way the articulation is, is it even possible to fold up a figure?
Idk I havent tried, lol.
But I have to agree with others-
Make a standard figure then add the rock parts as clip on armor.
I think thats the best idea. That way we get to chose how the figure looks.
And we get a regular full figure without it being limited with the rock infused on.
I think it will offer alot more freedom as well.

I disliked the original toys because they didn't fit the other toys of the line. I'd be down with a MOTUC version of any rock people though as I think 4H will make them...well....rock.
I LOVED the rock people! They were two of my favorite he-man figures, and I always had them standing guard on either side of the jaw-bridge to surprise skeletor when he attacked!
Stondar & Rokkon would make an excellent two pack.
I can't wait for them to get made. Looking forward to them.
Snap-On Rock armor is the way to go!!!
Oh, and I don't care if they can transform. If they have rock armor that can snap on to their bodies, they could make it so that the pieces can snap together as a meteor rock on their own (separate from the figure). That way you could display the "rock" in meteor form next to the figures. That could be a good compromise.

After some thought, I'm not sure snap-on rock armor/pieces would be the way to go. Simply because I think it may take away from the idea that these are "rock" people. And especially if those pieces became loose over time, or had an issue staying on to begin with.
I do think the Four Horsemen should be able to recreate their classic fold-down action-feature within a new sculpt, especially if they use a new crotch piece similar to Bow's and Hssss's, that hopefully won't be as hindered as the previous ones. They may need to add some forward-bending articulation it the knees too. And as long as they include the Rock shield/bottom snap-in piece, they could still create their "full" meteor form.
In this photo you can see how the Reissue He-Man figure is already quite bendable:

I think it's safe to assume that most of us thought that when (and if) Mattel gets to releasing the Rock People that they would be able to fold up into their rock forms.
But looking at Jewelstar, it really looks like they continued the trend of articulation/sculpt over action feature.
So have we just seen a preview of the Rock People? Will they not be able to turn into rocks? And what are your thoughts, one way or the other?

From day one of this line with the "no action features" rule, I firmly believed Jewelstar, Rokkon and Stonedar would be standard figures and would each come with their other form: a rock/boulder for the rock people and a jewel for Jewelstar. I still believe the Rock People will get their rock formation, but I'm quite saddened Jewelstar didn't get her jewel. That's her power...transforms into a hypnotic jewel.![]()

I agree with DS that the figs should come with a 'Transformed' jewel/rock. But I am VERY happy with the lack of action feature. I will always take sculpt over feature!
Drowning in a Sea of Plastic.
Maybe if they make a rock form pack in with rokkon they can use it later in a weapons pack and repaint it to make it jewelstar
I never thought they'd be able to fold up in to a rock. I figured they'd just be a regular figure with rocky features. And I don't really want a lump of plastic in the shape of a rock to come with them either.
