The figures that can be produced are figures that were in the original MOTU, POP and NA lines, as well as in the mini-comics for these lines.
Characters that appeared in the 2002 MYP cartoon are also fair game.
Filmation characters are off limits!
Who will be produced will remain to be seen.

The questions that were asked in the previous Q&A & will be answered in a couple weeks as follows (please do not repeat them, or questions from previous Q&As):

1. It was previously said that Mattel would start making use of the newsleter on Matty Collector. But so far, most of the recent news updates have been posted on Matty's facebook account. Wouldn't it be better to not only post the news on Facebook, but to also send the news via the newsletter on Matty Collector as well as send the news out to all fan/toy sites, or at least to He-Man.org, to maximize Mattel's informative reach?

2. Who specifically is responsible for creating/writing the bios shown on the back of the MOTUC packaging and what all goes into creating a bio (details please; inquiring minds want to know!)?

3. Demo-Man has been a controversial character, mostly because of his name and because he wasn't part of the existing MOTU lore known by the public. Has Mattel given thought to modifying his info any further to increase favorable opinion of the character, or at least change his name so it reads more like "demon" which the name is supposed to imply?

4. Is there any update on re-releasing King Grayskull?

5. The original toys, mini-comics and MYP cartoon have all been confirmed as character sources for MOTUC, while the classic cartoons have been ruled off-limits.
But there is a variety of other character/story sources (eg: Golden & Ladybird books, Marvel/STAR comics, etc).
Are these also unavailable for use, and if so what are the actual legal reasons this material can't be used as it was originally created for Mattel Licensing?

6. Will the packaging for 2002, NA and/or POP characters be different than the current MOTUC figures?

7. What is the status on the "coffee table book", and if it's moving forward will it include previously unknown archival info like we saw with Demo-Man?

8. Now that Mattel has MOTUC figures in production, which happen to include a number of the weapons that helped make up the original '80s accessory pack, is there any update on the possibility of releasing a MOTUC weapons pack?

9. It appears that the paint app consistency has varied on the three figures released to-date.
For example, both He-Man and Skeletor seem to have two different paint apps on their faces. A glossy finish version and a more matte finish version. Why is this?

10. It doesn't seem fair to fans outside the USA to have to pay twice for international shipping (to receive and then to return) for something that was Mattel's fault. Will Mattel provide a free-international-return-shipping for figures that are faulty or sent with/in error?

Can figures purchased from MattyCollector be shipped from various countries instead of just the U.S. to help lesson the cost to international fans (customs fees)? Example: All the MOTUC figures say they were imported by Mattel's Mississauga, Ontario location (Canada). Why can't they be shipped directly to Canadians from this spot instead of from California?

Will the classically non-skirted female MOTUC figures (Teela, Evil-Lynn and The Sorceress) feature "soft" plastic skirts to cover their ball-jointed hips (and make the figures more aesthetically pleasing) or will they utilise hip articulation that is similar to that used on Mattel's DCUC Wonder Woman action figure (and retain their original swim-suit styled garments)?

Hello there, Toyguru!

Is it possible for Mattel to offer more shipping options especially that offer tracking? Currently fans can only track their order if they choose UPS to deliver their order, however, UPS do not deliver to Post Office Boxes.

Would Mattel offer more shipping options through the United States Postal Services (U.S.P.S.) to international fans?

I'm not sure the best way to word this, so feel free to edit it to make better sense if need be.

Anyway, if one figure came before another and the two shared parts in the '80s line, will Mattel be dedicated to making the "original" character first in MOTUC, too? e.g., Mekaneck before Stinkor (armor), Fisto before Clamp Champ (armor), etc.

I want to know why a dealer was sold an ENTIRE CASE of Beast Man figures at the NYCC?

We can't order them off of the site anymore and fans are limited to one per person, but a person can buy a case at the show?

Why are Hordak's abs showing, and painted black, rather than having a torso piece of armor?

This question is not as character specific as it may appear. If this is how the all armour will be handled, I would like to know. Thanks

You Say you are considering Re-releasing previous figures that are now sold out (He man Beast man etc etc) With different paint apps or card variations... Is this Realy a Wise idea Seeing as This Was done with the 2002 line and seemed to be a majour downfall, Would it be wiser to just re-release the characters with no variations?

If an actual Grayskull playset is too expensive to produce, has Mattel given any thought to producing smaller-sized sets from the classic line, such as Point Dread or the Slime Pit?

In regards to Hordak:

the original figure's head was sculpted to the "head guard/backing"...while one of the greatest things about him in both the Filmation cartoon and the MYP cartoon was that it was just that....a "backing/head guard". What I'm asking is...will his head be articulated separately from the "backing/head guard", or will the "backing/head guard" yet again move with the head? Personally...I'd prefer it be articulated separately.

Regarding female articulation:
The Teela prototype shown at the Comic Con doesn't feature ball jointed shoulders like the previous MOTUC figures. I noticed she has a cut joint located underneath her upper arm bracelet. It also seems that she will be sporting a soft plastic 'dress' concealing any possible ab-crunch / swivel torso articulation.

Will Teela sport ab-crunch and waist swivel under the dress?

Will this movie be a new story or a continuation of the 200x series?

Since there is talk of extra possible paint-app varied characters when it is logical some months, in the near future, have Mattel considered starting this with Teela? She is considered by many to be the ideal character to begin this with, since a repaint of her as Green Goddess would be highly sought after.

Does Mattel want to go into video games?

I'm sure that one way to boost MOTUC's exposure is through video games. Some video games make more money than movies. MOTU is screaming to be a The Legend of Zelda-like game, just replace Link, Zelda, Epona and Ganon with He-Man, Sorceress, Battle Cat and Skeletor. MOTU could get TONS of crossover exposure, especially if the game is really good. Then He-Man won't be just a toy, but a legitimate entertainment property as well.

Because of the cost worries, instead of creating a whole new Castle Grayskull or a build-a-castle feature, would it be possible to re-release the Classic Castle Grayskull like the original toyline had re-releases? It would truly befit the Classics line.

Last year at SDCC you said there wouldn't be any more chases. Now at NYCC you said there might be one for the SDCC exclusive. I'm REALLY hoping there isn't, but if there is, can you tell us what the ratio might be? Can you at least tell us if it will be the same or greater than it was with King Grayskull, because that seemed to be a pretty fair ratio, IMO.

Wouldn't there be a way to international buyers buy exclusive figures from comic con and such? I think that what happened to faker is the best option. I don't think it's fair to buy exclusive from scalpers at ebay for so expensive price, or buy diferent, worse version of exclusive figures.
