Shoulder Pad Alert! Another Classic Prime-Time Soap Is Headed for the Big Screen

Move over, Dallas!
There's another classic prime-time soap from the '80s headed for a big-screen reboot…

I just got word that a Dynasty movie is in the works.
Words cannot express how much I am dying over this news. It...is...beyond!
Dynasty creator Richard Shapiro tells me the movie, a prequel to the hit '80s soap, will be set in the 1960s. "It's not the wild and crazy 1960s, but the early Kennedy years," he said. The story will focus on Blake's discovery that he's heir to the Carrington empire and his love affair with Alexis.
The original Aaron Spelling-produced Dynasty series centered on Denver's oil-rich Carrington family, headed by patriarch Blake Carrington (John Forsythe) and his secretary turned second wife Krystle (Linda Evans). The star-studded cast included Joan Collins (as Blake's first wife and catfight queen Alexis), Heather Locklear, Diahann Carroll, Pamela Sue Martin, Jack Coleman, George Hamilton and the late Rock Hudson.
Shapiro said the script will soon be shopped around to studios. Casting hasn't begun, but Shapiro said their hope is the film will be the first in a Dynasty franchise.
"We've given thought to the movie before and we've been approached by a lot of companies, but no one seemed to have a proper fix on it. Then suddenly we said, 'Let's do it [ourselves]!'—and we're the ones to do it," Shapiro said.
"It was my daughter Florie's notion to do a prequel, and that sounded very very good to us. It's how young Blake doesn't realize he's the son of Tom Carrington, but then he finds himself at the head of this company and surrounded by assassins and people who want to do him in."
Dynasty premiered exactly 30 years ago—Jan. 12, 1981—and ran until May 1989. It even spawned a short-lived spinoff, The Colbys, starring Charlton Heston.
A Dynasty reunion miniseries aired in 1991.
"Toy Masters" is the first ever feature-length documentary on the world-wide phenomenon that inspired an entire generation of children and became a billion dollar franchise--"Masters of the Universe".
The film is in production now, filming all over the U.S. "Toy Masters" will feature interviews with the key creative personnel behind every version of the best selling toy line and all incarnations of "Masters of the Universe" on television, film, stage, and print, tracing the inception and ups and downs of the fantasy juggernaut.
They are looking the most crazy and obsessive motu fan for an interview hehe

Wow. I had never made any connection between these two properties. Fantastic work. I totally forgot that Fallon had been abducted by aliens until I read your page. What's more, I completely forgot that Elaine Robinson (Katerine Ross) played a role in The Colbys.

Discovered and added more interesting facts to my post on http://www.dynastymastersuniverse.com about
JOHN FORSYTHE AND LINDA EVANS / JOHN ERWIN AND LINDA GARY
The lead roles of Blake Carrington and his second wife and former secretary Krystle Grant Jennings Carrington on Dynasty were portrayed by actor John Forsythe and actress Linda Evans. At the same time, the leading characters on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe were also being portrayed by actors named John and Linda. Actor John Erwin was the voice of Prince Adam and his alter ego He-Man, while actress Linda Gary voiced all of the leading ladies on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which included Queen Marlena, The Sorceress, Teela, and Evil-Lyn. All four actors were playing the biggest roles of their careers; the roles that they would all be best remembered for. Linda Gary would go on to play the voices of Glimmer, Shadow Weaver, Catra and Scorpia on She-Ra: Princess of Power, the spin-off of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Note: Like John Erwin, John Forsythe also did work in voice acting, but not as much as John Erwin did, and not in cartoons. John Forsythe was the voice of Charlie on the 1970's prime-time drama, Charlie's Angels. Note: Dynasty's main competitor during the 1980's was the prime-time drama called Dallas, starring Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing. The role of J.R. Ewing's wife, Sue Ellen Ewing, was played by actress Linda Gray. When you flip the letter "r" with the letter "a" in Linda Gray, you get Linda Gary.
