My hope is tha tthey go with the snap on armor for those guys to. I mean if they are staying true to the vintage line. It would be cheaper for them to just have the little armor molded up than a whole new torso.

I hope it's still early for them to take out what I think is that horrible name on Hordak's Bio.
Let's hope the final product doesn't have that name printed.

It's okay if the majority of fans approve of it, but if they don't, it should be taken away.

why, exactly should those of us who like it have to suffer?, why can't you just ignore it?

Well we live in a democracy afterall. This collection is supposed to be for the fans and if the majority of fans don't like it then they are not doing it right.

It's ok that you like it but why the bigger rest should suffer? Why can't you just let it go?
It's the same thing. But the numbers are in our favor. Get my point?

That's just my opinion.

and MATTEL Isn't a Democracy, they're a company. You're entitled to your opinion, but Mattel's property is THEIRS, and they don't HAVE to change it (and I hope they don't). Numbers don't mean anything if they don't want to change it. And if they've already invested money in it, I doubt they're going to.

and how are you SUFFERING?, it's a name. Ignore it. It's not like it's on the FRONT of the package.

Why can't I just let it go?,

because I've let go a lot of stuff in this fandom. I'm not letting anything else go.

the only people removing it is gonna affect is those of us who LIKE it. Why should we be punished?

Oh yeah, I think Hec-Tor Kur is a better name than Slushead, that's for sure.

I think MOTU fans who dislike these names should just not acknowledge their existence, like an atheist does with a higher being.

Wow!! is that actually Hordak's real name? (I assume your referring to Hordak) where was this info taken from?

Yeah, not as silly as some; one of the better real names so far. I knew the name Hordak couldn't have been a real name, since his group name is (evil)horde.
it'd be like the snakemen leader being called 'snake-or' or something.
Certainly not any worse than Dunkin (doughnuts), just because it's new and hasn't been known to us for 20 something years doesn't make it a bad name imo. Hek-Tor Kur, sounds like the name of a man who commands respect from his peers.
Certainly 100x better than He-ro & El-dor for a name imo. I hope that if/when they get made, they'll have decent names as well.

I agree, those who don't like the 'real names' can simply ignore it, dismiss it or whatever, so those of us who do like that they're finally getting proper names can enjoy it.

for some to say that having these names is making them 'suffer' is a total exaggeration imo. I agree with you Capitalzero.

I think the problem most have with the Hector thing (and, yes, that does sound a lot more ridiculous than Slushhead, because it's simply a silly play on a real name) is that it is totally uneccesary. Even in the Transformers movie, a mainstream take on the property, they didn't bother to expalin the name Bumblebee or Jazz. Giving Duncan a name (and one that, while normal, at least gives one a little "knights of the round table" feel) nade sensem as would any of the human characters. But Hordak didn't need another name, anymore than any of the other inhuman characters. And I see the point of folks who really don't want to see that become cannon in a new toon or movie.

And, if they're going to do it, they need to say the name out loud a few times to see if it has the impact it needs. No knocks to the Hectors of the world intended, but that name doesn't evoke the right feel for a character like Hordak. Given his alien status, I have no idea why it is based on a human name at all (sorry, but that really shows me a lack of imagination). It also goes against some of the past namings of such characters, such as Keldor for Skelly's supposed real name.

Think of making first contact with an alien visiting Earth, and finding out his name is Bubba. Kind of ruins the moment...

Heck, even DC's Martian Manhunter's name is Jon Jonz, or something like that. It's funny when people use the argument of Hordak having a Spanish Earth name, but the fact that he and all the other brings of Eternia speaking an Earth language like English doesn't raise eyebrows...? Lol. Mind you, I'm just playing devil's advocate, but I think you see where I'm going with this. :-)

There's suspension of disbelief, but people weren't expecting Hordak to have a real name. They just assumed that Hordak just named an army after himself, not that it was a title.

Hmmmm.... that's probably exactly what would happen. They'd give themselves Earth names so we could pronounce them, like the Aliens from ''V''. And the Transformers also gave themselves 'designations', i doubt 'Ratchet', 'Bumblebee', etc. are their 'real' names. I bet their true cybertron names would be impossible to pronounce. In the movie they referred to their names as designations, so i think that's what they chose for themselves as names before coming to Earth, so the humans would be able to call them by a name they could pronounce.

As for Hordak's real name, Hec-tor; fits in perfectly with Keldor, Randor, Eldor, etc., which could easily be human names also.
Fact is, every motu character is an alien (except Marlena) but many of them have human names regardless.

to me, Hec-tor a much better real name than 'Squiddish Rex'; which itself is a better name imo than 'Merman', or Ramman.
i've come to accept the fact that every alien character is going to have 'human-like' names, since they'd have to use our English alphabet to spell & pronounce them. True, they could come up with some very bizarre ones though, like they do for Star Wars aliens. they don't have to be literally human names, i agree with you there.

I do think many of the characters do need real names, especially the ones whose names end with '-man', or are based on their gimmick. Having real names is no different that GI Joe's having their real names; heck it's about the only reason i can see to keep the bio cards. I've wanted motu guys to have real names for many years, regardless of how silly, at least it's something else to refer the character by; other than the generic '-man', or '-or' type names.

it's about time someone says it. Who give a rats arse for a name in the back lower end of the packaging, man people will find anything to complain about!!!

I just wanted all to know that I hate Hordak. I hate the character, the figures, everything. I even hate the Horde! I have all of them in my collection but the sight of them makes me sick!
