    Trap-Jaw's Energy bow

As some of you know I like to make Trap-jaw weapons:

So I'm trying my hand at the Energy bow attachment.

I have it half done, The paint is drying right now before I put it back together, but Here's the recipe.

1 G.I. Joe grappling hook from the 90's

2 small grapes from my wife's fruits

    1 Connects long piece

1 net holder from snake mountain

I'll post the completed Energy bow Friday.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

A friend of mine is a model maker, he has nothing to do with MOTU, but he and I have talked and he's willing to make a mold of this and make some copies of it, but to make it worthwhile, I need at least 8 people to say they would buy one, this is not a list of who I'm going to sell it to, we're going to put them on eBay, but just more of is it worth my friends time and my money to make a few of these.

I also talked to him about the other ones I made and this is the only feasible one to make a mold out of.

Oh man you are awesome. You always come with some clever stuff for vintage MOTU figures.

I wish that here were still more people who cared about the vintage line instead of the "Classics" one & their overpriced 1 figure per month.

That looks very close to the original design. You should add a touch of 'electricity' to the bow. That might be cool?

I'd be interested in buying one, but could you give a price approximation? Thanks!

I'm guessing about between $15-25, I would buy the materials, pay my friend then divide the cost by the quantity. But my gut guess is $20-ish.

Here's another video clip of the Bow in action from the cartoon:

    (I like animated gif's better then you-tube)

In this one notice the energy-bow doesn't retract, just like mine.

One huge advantage to the Energy-Bow, is notice when He-Man blocks it, the blast dissipates, instead of He-Man ricocheting it back at Trap-Jaw.

    Excellent work, He-Bro !

I just have a question: what are those "small grapes from my wife's fruits" you were telling us about ? Can you explain, please ?

I stole 2 out if this.

See the first picture in the first post for a close up of the grapes.

At first I didn't tell her, but my youngest son was going to tell on me, so I had to tell her. She was not too happy with me, but hey I did buy it for her for Valentines Day.

Thanks for the explanation ! You sure had a great idea, and the result is awesome !

Great job-looks perfect. But after seeing the clip, shouldn't it be red?
I'm going to stop collecting toys and start smoking crack. Crack is cheaper and less addictive.

Nope, all his weapons are red in the cartoon, even the ones that he came with are red in the cartoon.

Look at this clip with the Lasertron:

I wasn't trying to copy the cartoon exactly, but make something that was in the cartoon, into a toy version, and the toy's attachments are black.

But If I were trying to copy the cartoon verbatim, I would make his right arm shorter too, and paint the arm red to match.

I have made other weapons for him that I didn't paint black, but this one I really wanted to match the original toy attachments.

    Thanks for the observation.
