I really like the design and look of your Orko, but is it just me or does the picture of the ball jointed head make him look like a duck.

He looks a little too chubby to me. I'd also like his cloak to be a little longer.

If the Classics figure ends up looking sort of half-way between the 200x version and your design, Emiliano, then i'll be very happy.

Excellent work. Looks just like the Filmation Orko. It blew my mind how they could foul up that simple a design when they made the '80s toy.

My one critlike comment would be the hands. I know that generally action figures are meant to hold things in their hands, hence the kung-fu grip, but I'd think that outspread fingers would be more appropriate for a magician.

Emiliano, you know I would buy these in a flash (and I stopped collecting!). I just wish Mattel would wake up and utilise this potential - I'm curious about Hasbro though!!

    Thanks!

I'm doing, guess what, action figures design for them.
Of course I can't talk what that is about for legal reasons, but I'm having a blast
It isn't much different from doing what you're seeing in these threads, but it's also a paid job and I'm pouring all my efforts into it because I enjoy designing Action Figures too much!

If was working for MOTU, Mattel would have the added bonus of my heart, but... *shrughs*

But we still have the 4H keeping up the Honor of Graykull for us!

i love this but if i had 2 requests it woud be that one hand would have the pinky, thumb, and index finger outstretched for the magic element and that the eyes have some sort of movable feature. since orko is so limited in expression and posability having eyes that could even just rotate slightly would add a lot. just my 2 cents

Filmation intorduced Orko, so to me that's the definitive version.
How I execute them hasn't to do with my personal preferences and design style.
I try to follow the same logic the 4H do: Eric Treadaway went back to the source and tryied to portray the first 8 figures like they had been designed by Mark Taylor at the avery beginning.
So I wanted to go to Orko's root as well, and give a portrait of what he was at the beginning and how he's creators envisioned him.

Which, we must admit, is still the most iconc and recognizable look for Orko ;-)

That's why I hope no one is expecting anything fancy or crazy by this collection of designs.
For that I have a bunch of unseen 2002 designs I may post later on ;-)

    I love your orko...

but for a figure.. he looks a little chubby.. maybe he should be a little leaner (not much) just about 15% or so....

    I love your artwork!

if you ever do a portrait or something or all the people you should sell it
