    Idea for 2nd edition packaging

Wouldn't it be kinda cool, and true to the classic feel,
if they'd, insted of a sticker, would make 8- or 10-backs
for the second run of each figure?

It would keep the look similar to 1. edt. figs from the front,
but would easily be recognizable as 2. editions from behind!

    I would love it!
    Armageddon will soon be here,
the sinners will meet their fate.
But I am calm and without fear,
as I feed upon my hate.

    yes, why not?
for that time we would have enough figures to make a 10-back, and it would be a cool nod to the classics toyline!

Yea I like the 10 back idea.

It is a throwback to the original line and it works.

Would be nice. Though I like the new front of the package, it would totaly rock if they would come with the classic red/blue design, but keep the lightning on the blister. Oh yeah and remove that adult collector, I know I'm not a child anymore, ok not many would say so though

Excellent idea. It's different enough to be distinguishable from the first ed. and it would entice people who have the first ed. to buy another, but not so different as to cause bad feelings for the people who don't want to buy another ed. of a figure they already have. It strikes a good balance IMO.

Besides, if they'd only put on a sticker,
one could easily remove that, and vupti; have a first edition!

Not if the UPC / Bar-code is different. That is one thing that will likely be different with any second run of figures. What they should of done with all the first editions was to put "NEW" on the top corner of the card and then take it away for any releases along with changing the amount of figures on the back. Personally, I'd like to see something on the front of the package that tells me its a re-release.

Also, instead (or maybe as well as) a bio, how about an "action picture", like the picture at the top of the vintage card that displayed the character in question in action.

It could either be taken from the vintage packaging, or maybe a new piece.

DEFINITELY bring back the classic blue and red packaging, with no lightning. I'm not collecting this line MOC, but if they were in the old package, I would buy a He-Man and Skelly just to keep in the package!

I'm one of the folks that doesn't see a need for any differences in packaging on later releases because Mattel never promoted these as "limited editions." That said, though, I think this idea satisfies everyone, and it is a nice nod to the original line.

I'm a fan of following what Mattel did back in the day and just put a big label that said "The Original!" or label it "The 2010 Rereleased Edition" on the box.

With Faker though, I would like a "He's Back!" on the packaging. I remember that because as a kid, I missed him the first time around and I bought him the second time later down the line.

That's a good idea, Squid. It's a whole lot better than a sticker IMO.

Hell, if somebody would re-seal a vintage figure back on a fake card,
why wouldn't the same cliantel of people not try to cheat a few bucks out of a newbie buyer, by removing the sticker?
We don't know what a 1. edition He-man MOC will be worth in, say, 15 years!
Let's not make it easier for the hoaxers - gotta be careful ...

or just keep the current cardbacks that will be out at that time, so when they are released, they should have MAA, Teela Triclops etc or whoever is out at the time on the back instead of the first 6 on the back

Fair idea; this would be in keeping with how reissues of the original line were handled.

While all these ideas are fine, I do feel that it would be best for "Second release" or some similar unmistakable text to appear on the card, preferably the front. I am envisioning sellers on eBay eventually putting these toys up for auction not knowing they are second-releases because they don't know that the eight-back is special sekrit code for "Psst -- this's the second release." And if the changes in design don't clearly communicate what they're supposed to for everyone not in the know, then their usefulness is limited. Such changes do look and sound cool, but when it's a second edition, I'd prefer that everyone know it because the toy clearly says so, not because you have to figure it out by a secret clue.
Still remembers we paid excessive shipping on Battleground Teela. Is confident Matty will resolve the issue and make it right for us.
