Well...I just paid this morning for Overnight shipping. I never have before cause it is so damn expensive. My order STILL says processing. My bank account has been debited by DG. Soooooo....I feel I should receive my order tomorrow. Am I wrong to feel this way? Please let me know what you think. I have heard some say that the shipping speed does not matter. It matter WHEN they decide to ship. I say..."you got my money...give me my items....since I paid for overnight....they should come OVERNIGHT"

You think you've got it hard - try living overseas where you're lucky to receive your figure by the time the next one goes on sale!

The only time I used the 2 day shipping was with Hordak and he arrived 2 days after I bought him at Matty. The thing was, he went on sale early in the week, so I didnt have to wait over the weekend. I guess it all depends on the day the figure goes on sale.

I guess I can just hope that the figure will actually ship out tonight (which is not likely) and if it cannot, then it will ship tomorrow. Which means that if UPS will deliver an Overnight delivery on Saturday (which they should), I think I'll be okay. I am just way to excited to be getting these figures.

What your were told is correct. Items should arrive the next day after they ship-not the day you place the order, hence order processing times. Very few places ship the same day as you order a product. I pay for overnight as well which is still that fastest method for me as it averages usually five business day from order to in hand, again due to the processing time.

I use UPS ground every time. My orders always get to me exactly 7 days after I ordered. That's quick enough for me.

The earlier in the week the figures go on sale, the better. If they go on sale on Monday or Tuesday, if you paid for overnight or 2 day shipping, you should have them by the end of the week.

Never pay for 2 day or overnight shipping if the figures come out on Thursday or Friday. You'll hit the weekend and then you'll get the figures early next week.

i literally live about 30-45 minutes from the shipping location. So i usually get mine fairly quickly. 2 days or so after the sale. This time though, i tried the overnight shipping. I, for some reason, never saw the option before. So i thought i'd try it out. I received my order confirmation at 9:05am pst...and currently i still have no shipping confirmation, my status on matty still says in process, and the "trick" to find if your order has been prepared on ups, isn't working for me. I'm annoyed because when you want something over night, typical if ordered before noon, it ships out that day. That's a general rule of thumb for almost every business that ships things. Yes the overnight and 2 day shipping only refers to the time it takes, once a item leaves it's location. So it's not ups' fault or anything. But when you buy that service, a degree of speed is almost expected. You'd think they'd assume we want something expidited to us in a quicker manner. And as i said, i currently have no idication of when i'll get my figures. Long story short, i'm not gonna pay for expidited service anymore. It doesn't seem worth it and doesn't seem as if i'm gonna get my figures any quicker.

Why the hell would you even bother paying the money for "overnight" shipping when you (A) typcially get your shipments within 2 days of the order since you are close to where they ship from and (B) know that people have already had issues with the length of the "processing time" it takes for Digital River to even get this stuff shipped out.

You may as well have just taken the extra money that you spent and set it on fire.

i agree it's seeming like a waste of money. I wanted to basically test it and see if they would put more a emphasis on shipping out peoples stuff that order i with 2 day or over night shipping. Looks like i have my answer though huh? lol

Persistence(spelling) is the key my friends! Annoy the hell out of DR and they will ship your order. IF UPS delivers on Saturdays. I will have my figures. Which since it is UPS Overnight I believe they will. USPS even delivered Express mail on Columbus Day. So....if you didn't figure it out already...my order has been confirmed shipped! I am way to anxious about these 2!

I don't think UPS delivers 2-Day or Next day air packages on Saturdays as a standard.

There's actual a separate, specific (and pricey) option for Saturday delivery. It's not actually an option on Matty Collector, or through most online/mail order retailers that I've seen. But it is something you can choose if shipping something yourself. And actually, I used to work at a catalog company, and while it wasn't a service that was offered for customers to purchase, it was something that people in the customer service department could choose if an item showed up damaged or something and the customer needed the replacement right away.

I suppose that it's possible UPS would deliver some other packages on Saturdays (probably depending on the number of Saturday deliveries they have to deliver, they may give the driver a few of these packages as well to make it more worth their while of having the driver to their route.... though this is complete speculation on my part).

So, I wouldn't hold my breath on getting this tomorrow.

For $40.00 USD thhey BETTER deliver on Saturday. There will be hell to pay if this does not happen.

The price isn't the issue. Next Day Air is based on Standard Business Days, which is Monday through Friday. So the "next business day" after Friday is Monday. Saturday, is a separate, extra, special service that does not fall under the category of a standard business day.

Like I said above, I worked in customer service for a catalog company a few years ago, and I became very familiar with how these specific services work. Unless there have been drastic changes to UPS's service since that time in favor of delivering other categories of packages on Saturdays (which I highly doubt.. esspecially in today's economy), I wouldn't hold my breath on getting this tomorrow.

Like I said, Saturday delivery is very specific service. And the packages get delivered on Saturday regardless of what day of the week they are shipped out on. If you ship out on a Friday using that service (early enough to get it delivered the next day), it will arrive on Saturday. But if the same package is shipped out on a Monday using the same specific Saturday service, it still won't be delivered until Saturday.

In the customer service department where I worked, it was an option that we didn't use too often. Typically it was reserved for customer service issues where an item arrived damaged or went missing, and it was a gift and someone needed it right away, and this was happening late on Thursday or early enough on Friday to get the package out that same day.

    direct from the UPS website...

"Saturday Delivery: Saturday delivery service is available for UPS Next Day Air and 2 Day Air shipment to most major metropolitan areas and from Canada to the United States."

Unless the "delivery service" is something extra they tack on...then pardon my language but that's **** up
