well most of us have the Door , how about if they buld the Castle around it?
I'd like a MOTUC CG to be the biggest version we've seen so far as MOTUC are the biggest figures we've had so far. Keep the playset in scale with the figures, but I'd add a foundation/base (i.e. a basement floor level). That way there could be a dungeon under the ground level isnstead of just a sticker on the floor like the original version had, and the jaw bridge could open to bridge an actual gap. Two things for warriors to fall into! Mostly wishful thinking I guess, but that is what I'd like to see!

I wouldn't mind a version like the comic con display and the scale below would be ok with me. The main thing that I would like though is it be organic and dark looking verses strictly geometric.

I really like the scale, and agree that it should be more organic and dark. My only beef with the con display is that the nose area looks more like an animal than a human skull. Other than that, I would totally dig something like this!!
i think a castle grayskull would have to be big enough for he-man to be sitting on battlecat in the doorway with out his head hitting the top of it.
Honestly? Whatever size it takes to get one made.
I'd take a huge one, half a one, a "slightly sculpted" backdrop/diorama, or even a tiny superdetailed miniature replica so we can pose it with the figs as if in the distance.
But above all, I'd like the following things for my MOTUC Grayskull:
1) Let the 4H do it.
2) Base it almost entirely off the original Classic prototype
3) No cobblestone skull or teeth; if not an actual skull like Mark Taylor has suggested, then have it be carved stone, but no cobblestones!
I'd like to see a larger one than past Grayskulls.
I like the Vintage design the best...much better than the 200x Grayskull.

i've often thought of making my own Grayskull, Crystal Castle, and Thundercat's Lair, but they would all end up WAY to large for me to display anywhere!

A castle would be great if it was really good and of a size that looked good with the figures, but I would much rather see individual sculpts for some characters to make great figures.
Please no! That is not castle Grayskull!!! That's a cool display for a convention sure, but it does NOT represent a proper castle Grasykull IMO.

And honestly, if Mattel screws up the design on CG then I won't be laying down the load of cash required for such a playset/display piece.
I trust the 4HM, let them come up with the design. THEN I'll consider it for sure. But if Mattel wants something that looks nothing like Taylor's sculpt there, then I'm really not interested, and I'll make my own. I don't need another Castle that ALMOST looks the way it should.

THIS is Castle Grayskull. Looks almost as foreboding as Filmation's castle. Just give it another side like 200X did.
As for the Mark Taylor version, isn't that the normal CG release? What's so different about it? Wait, you mean the lack of black washes and the way the skull looks? I guess, it could work too.

I love the castle from the original box art in the post above. The artwork and mood in the artwork will always represent the castle to me. I hope the toy is like that, which isn't too far from what we got originally back in the 80's
I think I too prefer the design of the original castle (and this is coming from a huge 200X fan).
However, the one thing I don't like about the original is the way that the towers are so squished in with the skull. I like the way that the towers are given room to breath on the 200X and on Joe Amaro's castles.

Tis easily the sing best illustration of Castle Grayskull.
I'd be happy with a diorama that's about 25-30" high, have a working draw bridge, be able to be hung on a wall and have facilities to display figures in windows, battlements, rocks and drawbride.
