I was a fan of the X-Files for about 3-4 seasons. However I grew tired of the non closure, and the hard evidence of all the unusual, extraterrestrial or supernatural just disppearing all the time. Be it a creative choice to keep the fans guessing, or the show going, it became disappointly painful to watch.

Fringe so far has been fun. If gives you enough to keep you interested in the larger story, while wrapping up with each episode. I think its a great show.

The wife and I really enjoy it. Kinda feels like it's moving too fast sometimes-would like to see more "average" cases and more regular interaction between the characters. But overall I'm very happy watching it.

Why does Agent Lincoln in our universe look so much like Cillian Murphy in Batman Begins? I can't decide what to think of that character either.

Glad to hear this was renewed!

I thought the same thing! I thought the actor looked like Cillian when they first showed him on the show, but laughed when the "our universe" him looks like The Scare Crow. He was even a psychiatrist, right?

I LOVE fringe and it is possibly my favorite show on TV. I knew the ratings were not great so i had already accepted a cancellation notice but the fact it got not just a 4th season but a 22 episode season pleases me GREATLY!!!!

Now I hope that we get a solid ending to the series which was my biggest worry if it had been canceled this season and not have it go off the rails like x-files did.
I want NA Skeletor and Rio Blast and I want them now!

Yes! I think it's also those thick-rimmed glasses. The other world isn't exactly a good/evil mirror, but I think our Lincoln could be evil.

It's strange, I now like Other World Lincoln as if he were one of our lead characters almost. I thought he was just a red shirt last season, then he came back and there was that strange concern between him and our Olivia while she thought she was Foe-livia, and now he's possibly the only character in the other world (aside maybe from Olivia's and Peter's moms) who I suddenly have an emotional investment in. Jeez, they had me wanting Foe-livia to survive for his sake! Now I'm really curious why our Olivia wasn't permitted to react to our Lincoln. What's going on? They're not doing all this just to set up a romantic rival I hope.

Also, come on now, the preview for next week looked like such an Inception lift!

I forget what happened in the preview except "Our Olivia" looks like she's having some psycho Belly headaches.

I hated Foe-livia, but she's slowly grown on me to liking her! Same with Lincoln. I wanted him to die when the girl deep fried him. Now he's such a nice guy! They're playing with our ideals about what's truly the "right side." Same with Walternate...although his arrow points mainly to the evil side.

    So, anyone still watching?

Fringe is still in my small handful of non-miss shows, but it really feels like they need to pick up the pace with this season. Maybe it's just because they are out of our timeline(s) and Peter is now an outsider and can't really get in the mix... I just miss the old chemistry of the quartet (Olivia, Peter, Walter, Astrid), in the lab, solving weirdo cases, making delicious treats, gettin' stuff done.

It also doesn't feel like there's as much "urgency" this season (maybe that's just because they took a mid-season break?). Which is ironic, because I keep reading things that Fringe is right on the edge of getting canned, so there's a huge urgency, at least in my mind, for them to get back to our reality and wrap up some threads before there isn't a chance anymore.
Alls I know is that I need to start actively lobbying Neilson families to keep this show going.

So in summery: still love the show, but miss giant hedgehog-men and Walter making homemade hallucinogens.

Not sure if anyone cares but Fringe was just renewed a final 5th Season

    http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...by-fox/131104/

FOX has picked up FRINGE for a fifth and final 13-episode season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

“FRINGE is a remarkably creative series that has set the bar as one of television’s most imaginative dramas. Bringing it back for a final 13 allows us to provide the climactic conclusion that its passionate and loyal fans deserve,” said Reilly “The amazing work the producers, writers and the incredibly talented cast and crew have delivered the last four seasons has literally been out of this world. Although the end is bittersweet, it’s going to be a very exciting final chapter.”

FRINGE co-creator and executive producer J.J. Abrams added, “We are thrilled and beyond grateful that FOX – and our fans – have made the impossible possible: FRINGE will continue into a fifth season that will allow the series to conclude in a wild and thrilling way. All of us at Bad Robot are forever indebted to our viewers and the amazingly supportive FOX network for allowing the adventures of Fringe Division to not only continue, but to resolve in a way that perfectly fits the show.”

“This pickup means the world (both of them) to us, because we love sharing these stories with our enthusiastic fans,” added FRINGE showrunners and executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman. “On behalf of the cast and crew, we applaud our fans and FOX for allowing us to imagine the impossibilities together for so long. Season Five is going to be a conclusive thrill ride for all of us.”

FRINGE’s compelling fourth season concludes with three all-new FRINGE Friday episodes in a row, counting down to the two-part season finale on Friday, May 4 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Friday, May 11 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). In “Worlds Apart,” airing Friday, April 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), team members on both sides, including Olivia (Anna Torv) and Peter (Joshua Jackson), continue to fight for a common cause, and there are shocking developments tied to the Cortexiphan children.

Created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, FRINGE is produced by Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Jeff Pinkner, J.H. Wyman and Joe Chappelle serve as executive producers, while Kurtzman, Orci and Akiva Goldsman are consulting producers. Additionally, Pinkner and Wyman serve as the series’ showrunners. “Like” FRINGE on Facebook at www.facebook.com/fringe. Follow the series on Twitter @fringeonfox and join the conversation at #Fringe.

AWESOME news that it was renewed!

EDIT: The multiple timelines on this show are screwing with my head:

So are there still two universes in the future?

HELL YEAH!!!! I am so very happy they are getting a final season. I can probably count on one hand the amount of sci fi shows that get to end on their own terms and with an end date that is already known.

Well I guess if tonight's episodes hold true for the future, the alt universe is no more...

The alternate universe still exists, they just can't visit each other anymore. It's like when the series first began, basically. That's my understanding of it.

Correct, Darkspecter. Perhaps, however, destroying the Bridge was the impetus for the Observers to take over in 2015. We know that the "other side" still existed, but for how long? The Bridge not only stopped the other universe from being destroyed, but was actually helping to heal it based on Walter's comments. Now that it's destroyed, Walter stated directly that the other side would not only stopped being healed as it were, but that things could have gotten worse.

Let's say this is true, and the alternate universe is destroyed. Maybe this is what caused the Observers to start the forementioned takeover, taking into account what the Head Honcho Observer (can't remember the name) indirectly said comparing humans to "animals".
