Motu Redesign challenge #89 - Filmation Modulok!

The foul beast lives again! Yes indeed. This grotesque and obscene villain is one of the very few to have bedeviled both He-man AND She-Ra on a regular basis. In the cartoon, that is.

First swearing allegiance to Skeletor, but then jumping ship and betraying him to Hordak when he grew weary of the Lord of Destructions constant belittling of him, Modulok is a creature of science gone horribly wrong.

He's also one of the extremely few ( the only one??) characters so far to be featured TWICE in this challenge!
Modulok was the subject for the very first MOTU Redesign Challenge 5+ years ago. So, let's give the freak of un-nature who was once a man, Galen Nycroft, a warm welcome back and our best shot, folks!

The rules are as EVER:
All people who choose to participate will have two weeks to come up with a redesign for this
character. You can use any medium you wish. You can sketch, paint, make a 3-D model,
make a sprite, make a custom action figure, whatever you want. Its entirely up to you!

As well, you don't have to force yourself to make your design conform to the new OR OLD cartoon &
comic book's style. Be as drastic in your redesign as you see fit. Whatever makes you happy.
If you can't think of a new design, or just hate the idea of working on this character,
you do not have to feel obligated to participate in this particular challenge.
You will still be free to participate in any future challenges you wish.

Cool, this shouldn't take too much time like my attempt at the Towers, I'm in. I really hope Sibylline wins, been looking forward to doing something with her. And if she doesn't then I'll do one anyway!

I see one headed Modulok as an original monster from the past and two headed is Galen, who has merged to this creature (reference is somewhere here http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...g?t=1244049052).

And yes, I think Modulok is first, who has been contested now twice.

Munkey: I'm afraid it is, since the two-headedness is the only really big difference between the two.

Wanna' take a stab at it anyway? You could always add this connector-point that allows a second head to be attached somewhere, as long as you don't fill it up.

Moni: Awesome Modulok! Outfitted with devilish chemicals and everything. ^^ So he's from pre-ternia then? But how did he come to the present? Or is he just immensely old?

Okay, here is my first challenge attempt. I missed the reply about the two heads, so I had started doing a version more along the lines of the toy. I wanted to have the second head being installed, and if wanted I may do that later. I may also add a background as well. Hope you guys like it.

Predabot: Modulok is old. His statue was in that old ruin, where Skeletor visited in Dark reflections (vol2,#1). In my storyline original Modulok was transformed to living ooze by magic of elders. That half-living ooze then merged with Galen, and result was 2-headed Modulok.

Bulun: now picture shows. Upper right hand is awesome! Liquid moving to Moduloks arms is just as bizarre to make him look really freak.

gatcagrey: those accessories are creative compared to all weapons they have in line. Good choice.

wolfsfang: I like that you are making him so short and creepy.

Bulun I really love yours.I love the socket on his shoulder for perhaps another head and that stance.Looks wicked.

Rubus your Modulok scares me. I definately dont want to be around when he is in need of a test subject.Whats behind him or on his waist?

Bulun: Looks awesome. =) He has a sort of grumpy look to him, as if he is not quite satisfied with his most recent research-results. More test-subjects are needed!

man i like all of those. bulun, i love it, he actually looks like some one who could be in the earthworm jim game. (that is a curveball compliment) lol.

ok while i am sketching mine, i want to break him down abit.

as far as "costume" mine is going to be pretty similar to the original, but the concept will be this: he is part of the aracnid family (so related to webstor)

in this i have a slightly bigger dome (longer) maybe some ridges.
two thinner spiderleg like arms coming off of the sideback.

and i see that he has 3 legs, so i am thinking, what if he had four, and one was blown off, or cut off. i mean, could he have a "nub" from the wrong angle that would maybe give the kids in here a bad image. hmm......... still sketching!!!!

great work you guys. this is my second contest, and i think that its REALLY good for the group, and fun to get to know everyones "version" or thoughts on MOTU. and what do we have in common? we all LOVE IT>.

Just in case I don't get time to colour it, this is my Modulok redesign.

The idea is based off the one I did for the Horde Chibis, Modulok originally being twins who experimented on each other to become the ultimate being, before merging into one.

A more detailed bio will follow when I get to finish it, bt a bit swamped again at the moment.
