Radrcks: Quite a suprising departure from form, I must say. Completely new head-shape from the classic. He looks more monstrous, less of a scientist, more of a brawler.

Munky: Clever concept! Never thought about that... two separate beings. Weirdly enough... I think it may actually be possible for classic toy-modulok to function in two bodies at the same time. Yours is two different minds tho. I'm currently working on some tryout-pages, but I'll give colouring it a go, if I finish them this week.

Deadline is always two weeks, unless otherwise noted. That would be June 17th.

Give it a go, mate! ^^

That was kind of the point for him to be unassuming. For as smart as he was supposed to be his plans were undone rather easily, so if he looked more monstrous then no one would expect anything other than brute strength from him.

This looked a lot better in my head. Not sure the mechanical legs fit with the character in retrospect but there you go

As his wiki page implies the filmation modulok character was based of mr Spock, I based the head on Leonard Nimoy and tried to reference the big eyes using faicial markings. hope that comes across.

Very nicely done. I actually like the legs, it's a nice touch. Not sure about the robot arm, it seems a little dwarfed. Either this is from the angle of you meant it that way. Regardless this is really cool.

Seraphyn: Hmm... I think you've taken the replace-body-parts portion of the character a little bit too far. Now he's more of a Trapjaw-style character. The Filmation-modulok did indeed replace portions of his body at times, with machinery. ( weapons mostly) But his appearance was most often one of an organic creature.

Jafari: Blaah! You're just saying that cuz' you know the next challenge is going to be a bad-ass hottie, no matter what.

Ah 2-Bad, always good to hear a friend's voice for inspiration!...
I have alot of affection for Modulok, but judging by your design (great concept & coloring imho), I think you guys have this one under control quite nicely!
I even remember when my brother bought Modulok at the "Fair" dept. store back in the day, it was crazy to see a MOTU fig come in a box like that... we built him into all sorts of zaney configurations.

In truth... I am really quite busy right now with some other art-projects & you will see in the coming weeks on my blog I am currently busily working on a sexy-retro "Logan's Run" image...
    And that's the latest...
I will be following this challenge closely though... good luck to all!

Bulun: it's not supposed to be like that, it's just a bit of particularly dodgy art. Just tried to make it a claw like the original.

Predabot: hmm... guess you're right actually, hadn't thought of it that way. It was just that it mentions in the bio that the filmation version he created a mechanical second head, I just stretched that imagining that he'd replace things he lost in failed experiments.

2Bad: winner... nothing more to say, that's awesome.

I don't know what my indisciplined style is going for here - a kind of underground comics-meets-The Thing or something. Anyway, here's my vision of "Moddy".

This might be a little better - halfway complete, though I underestimated how gross-out my pen allowed me to become. The "monster baby" thing is meant to be something Modulok uses for new limbs, etc.

It's cool though. I thought maybe it was more of whatever creature that arm came from wasn't exactly proportionate to him, but it was the best he had at the time. I didn't mention this before, but I really like the Leonard Nimoy likeness. Very cool.

Dang Moominsthenmotu that is a bit scary. I getting a Ralph Steadman vibe from this one.

    Great entries so far!
For my entry I wanted to keep the spirit of the Filmation Modulok, but work in the other limbs in a different, creepy way. So I made him sort of a mal-formed villain.

2-Bad: Good stuff! I like that, even tho he's got two heads, the inspiration is clearly still the Filmation-design.

You might want to make the background a brighter brown tho, so that he pops a bit more for the viewer.

JonWes: EEeeYugh! A freaky creature for sure! Even tho there are quite possibly even freaker versions than yours in here, there is something about your version that is really weird... I think it's all those little baby-like arms! That's a good thing tho, because it makes him pop out.

Man, I have done about 6 different drawings and I cannot find anything that I like with Modulok... I suck at this... lol. I am not sure I will get one of these up as an entry before tomorrow, but I will try...

I just completed this colouring of Rubus Modulok.

If he wants to, he can use it in the final poll, to get some colour on his submission.

I'll try to get to Munkey's entry next, but time is short.
