Great Photos Dan, Maybe i'm looking through rose colored glasses so to speak but i can't see anything wrong with Man-At-Arms at all. As i was looking at the figure the details are so nicely carved out that you can almost see the love the horsemen put into this figure as they were working. Excellent job! I thought for sure i'd pose him with the mustache but now i just don't know theres something purer to the shaved Duncan look.

-Quick question can the 200x sword fit into He-man's armor harness

    * on a side note i think it would be interesting for the bios or as a fan fic if someone could come up with a story of why the Grayskull's emblem was changed by a newer generation into the cross

Wow... those comparison shots are amazing. Time hasn't treated the 2002 line well in my eyes! I think they look kind of awful next to the MOTUC figures and just seeing the 2002 Power Sword in the hands of a MOTUC figure just makes it look even more like a giant butter-spreader than it used to. It's neat that they included it, but it looks so wonky that I think I might just "keep it aside" and not use it in display with any of my MOTUC figs.
PS- seeing the head on the 2002 MAA figure again makes me wonder if trying to do the 2002 line all anime-style was such a good idea, because it looks pretty laugh-worthy all these years later.

    Chris here...

My knee-jerk reactions? I don't like the sculpt of Man-at-Arms' mace (I'd have made it more streamlined as per the original, classic figure's accessory) and seeing Duncan without the armour he looks rather blatantly like a reused figure mold with a new head stuck on the top. Aside from that, though, I think he looks awesome and I can't wait to get him!

Just to add to this too, I never liked the 200X Power Sword design over much, but as a "bonus accessory" I think it's cool!

    Take care...

The non-mustache head is so much better.

The new sculpt of the 2002 sword looks much better.

Well, looking at the pics. I can really say that 200X sword looks better with Grayskull than with He-man.

Still hates the look of it but it sure's a lot better than the actual 200X version.

Now about MAA, he seemed bland somehow. Even with all the extra accesories and a head. Guess he's not really my most fave but still getting 4 of him at least!

The mustache-less head does look better. Guess I know which head to display him with!

The armor on his arm is indeed in two pieces. Although, I'm not sure at the moment if it will fit on his right arm also. I think the upper part of the armor is sort of shaped for the left arm. When I get home from work tonight, I'll check it out and will let everyone know for sure!

I will also check to see if the 200x Sword fits in He-Man's harness, and will check to see if the 2002 mace fits with this new MAA.

The mace on this figure is indeed a softer plastic than any of the weapons in this line so far. And mine is slightly warped on the handle from the way it was packaged. I was a little bummed about this. I'll definitely bring it up in the video.

Glad you guys like the pictures. I wish I had a better camera so I could get some clearer shots. But I have to make due with what I've got. At least my video camera records in hd, so the video review should look great!

Thanks for sharing Pixel Dan! After looking through all of the pictures, I'm very happy with how MAA turned out. There's a little bit of missing paint on the right armband and a few messy spots around the belt, but nothing major.

Is Duncan the first to come with the white mailer box?

No white mailer box for Duncan. But, He-Ro had it.

Yeah its a great Review, but I still look forward to Pixel Dans more!
Hes such a cool figure, I ADORE the paint apps on the armor! and the 200X sword has been retro fitted perfectly, They got rid of the atrocious Anime- Circuit design on the blade and its made a huge difference for the better! Brilliant!

and while everyones over there, have a look at Fwooshs main page, they have the 4H female figures on there, WOW!!! if thats where they can take POP then Im more than excited!

Man-At-Arms looks amazing. Seeing the comparison pics.... I gotta say I think he blows the other two versions out of the water (though I do like both) and is such a great meld of the two. I can't wait to get him.

He even looks good on he Dragon Walker!

The only thing a don't like with the new sword is the dark "bolts" at the top of the sword. I think they should have been left silver. Other than that though, the sword looks great. It is an improvement over the original 2002 design.

Thanks for the pics, he looks amazing. Yet again another character finally looking how they were always meant to look in my eyes.
The moustached head is staying in the box, his real head has finally been created properly.

Quick question, are you able to tilt his head downward at all so his face shield only shows his eyes?

I'm really looking forward to Man-At-Arms; the pictures look great.

I had the original as a kid, but he was just so-so. This version makes him the cool figure that he should have been all along.

I'll probably go with the clean shaven look, but both are great.

I started out comparing it to the 200X version, but the MOTUC version isn't trying to be that version so I dropped the comparison pics. (For the record, I like that version better--it's more armored and burlier looking.) So I dug up the "Olde 8 Back jpg" in order to judge the MOTUC MAA correctly, since that's what this figure is really trying to do--be the ultimate 80's MAA, not the ultimate MAA period.

I like the sculpting on 200X MAA's head better than the moustached MOTUC head. I guess my MAA is going to be clean shaven.

I like the coloring on the armor, except that round thingee--it's too gold, IMO. Mattel wants it to stand out, but they always mis-color it. The MOTUC version is colored waaay better. And I really like the coloring on the armor's black fur. And you have to love the green fur.

One minor nitpick: I wish MAA's green skin was a more olive green, like in the mini-comics. I think the colors overall on him are too rich and dark. I'd like him to be more lighter and faded. Maybe it's the pictures...Dan's pics aren't as dark as Fwoosh's.

How well does the armor stay on? It looks like the forearm armor might be lose and prone to movement.

Yeah, I think Fwoosh scooped us. They usually do, but it's because they get the figures a day before I do because of their location. Plus, they focus entirely on written reviews and photos. My meat and potatos is my video review. That's a lot more work. I wish I could get mine done first though, but I haven't been able to do that since Skeletor.

Fwoosh's photos are very nice, though!

As for the question about his forearm armor, yes, it is a bit loose. It has a habit of slding down onto his hand when you're posing hima round. It's not a huge problem, but it is a bit annoying sometimes.

Ok, a few answers to some questions posted.

-MAA's head can be positioned so that all but his eyes are behind the face shield. It's pretty sweet.

-The armor on his arm is designed to fit his left arm. It can be placed on his right arm, but it looks a bit awkward.
