Hordak SOLD OUT - Post here if you missed out (no angry insulting posts please)

    OMG an hour.

    Update from Matty:

Hordak is now sold out. We will bring him back in the future (much like other sold out figures starting with He-Man in October) but for now, the Ruthless Leader of the Evil Horde is off the market.

    Second update:

2: As for Hordak, well he has been our most successful figure yet. We produced as many Hordak's as we did Zodac and Mer-Man, but he also sold out faster than any other figure! Just goes to show the power of the Horde lives!

We will continue to increase numbers and adjust as needed on a figure by figure basis. We are well aware of which figure are more popular (i.e. Zodac vs. Hordak) and will continue to do our best to adjust production without the dreaded line-killing over-production option. And yes, in time Hordak will be back for a second run much like we are doing with He-Man and Skeletor in the fall.

And keep in mind that the full 12 figure MOTUC subscription for 2010 will be available in July starting at SDCC (you can even sign up right in our booth if you are at the show!). This is the best method to guarantee you get every figure. And as a bonus, the 2010 subscription will include extra items only available to subscribers (and there will be a nominal fee to cover this). more details will be revealed in San Diego.

Next up is Man-At-Arms on July 15. After that, see you in San Diego!

That was quick, considering it had higher production numbers. I'm worried about getting He-Ro now!

Looks like they are really going to have to fine tune the production numbers. If Zodac and Hordak were both made in the same amount, there is a huge difference between an hour and (what was it?) 3 days?

Oh yeah, definitely worried about getting He-Ro.

So far the only one I have had to get on eBay was King Grayskull.

Hopefully that will continue to be the case. If they increase the number of characters released each month next year, I'm going to need a better-paying job for sure.

This is excellent news. I'm glad the line is doing well.

However, I do feel bad for those who weren't able to order...

Wow. Looking at the trends I hope Man-At-Arm lasts longer than 30 minutes.

(Yes I know that could be taken the wrong way. Get your minds out of the gutter...)

I thought Hordak would last more than an hour but it is not surprising considering the popularity of the character. Besides, it looks like one awesome figure and the sell out is a testament to the success of the Classics line.

Geesh. So I just barely got him in time after waiting forever (nearly 45 minutes) on the refresh screen! Scary! I really thought he'd last longer.

Friggin' amazing!!! I'm a little worried for He-Ro and MAA, but I'm always on Matty before noon anyhow. I guess the next figure they will up production on is Tri-Klops, right? I'm sure he will be another big seller too. Hopefully onec the subscription starts we won't have to worry about this so much.

Hey now, it looks like something got messed up. I just went to mattycollector and it says that I have ten Hordaks in my cart (I had already gotten my confirmation for the two that I wanted). I went through the motions up to submitting my payment, and it looks like an order would go through.

If you still have figures in your cart but the ordering is closed, give it a shot. It may still work.

For He-Ro they really should drop the order quantity to 2 for each person and not 6 he is going to sell out anyway.

As others have pointed out, it's, perhaps, not entirely unsurprising that Hordak has sold out! An amazing sculpt and the figure has been promoted for sometime.

    Yeah, that's a good point.

If they're truly dedicated to getting all figures to last more than a few days, it's gonna be a battle to figure out how many to produce of certain characters.

And maybe that's not worth the risk of overproducing and getting stuck given how many it would have likely taken to get Hordak to last three days (or a week or more if we're going off their stated ideal window).

god, how long will it take to find the happy medium matty would like to have??

i do believe alot of this is reseller driven. if the fever ever breaks and the profits start to get low, i think the new figures will stay on the website for months and months.
