    This just proves my theory.
The person responsible for the art placement has no clue of MOTU whatsoever..

But the change is welcome! It's nice to see new disc arts..

I like the discs, and the artwork on them and the cover. I mean, is it really that big of a travesty/sin that He-Man is holding the sword with his other hand? DEAR LORD, NOOOOO!!!!!!!! *

Maybe we can get new entertainment if this sells 100,000 copies.

Shockingly they didn't have this when I went for some Madonna at Best Buy. Guess I'll have to order it online.

Am I missing something? The title says review but the picture/audio quality of the set is nowhere to be found or reviewed.

You're much more likely to find it at Walmart than Best Buy.

Why's that? Does Walmart have some sort of deal with Mill Creek?

Most of Mill Creeks's output is created specifically for Wal-Mart's "bargain section". Some of their bigger tiles will make it into Best Buys and other stores, but they make their living through Wal-Mart.

The main reason I thought it would be at Best Buy is 'cause their bargain Dungeons and Dragons set was available right on the release date.

I went to Wal-Mart after reading your post and couldn't find it there either.

Hey! I've updated my review to include that info!

You will likely have to buy this online or at best buy. I will try to get some retail info from Mill Creek for you guys.

Honestly, I'm so pleased with this set. Yeah, its bare bones packaging, but otherwise its perfect.

The packaging is the cheapest of the cheap - a thick keepcase with paper inserts for the four discs.

However, the video and audio on the first thirteen episodes are finally up to the quality of the second and third volumes BCI released. Great surround sound and no ***** up video encoding!

All in all, well worth ~$20 to have the first 13 eps in good quality let alone the entire series!

I got my complete series set of the new Mill Creek release today in the mail. Of course I already had the previous releases. I just wanted to see if there were any improvements in the sound and picture quality. For the price they are selling it, the worst case scenario is that I have a backup to the first releases. The sound and picture are very similar to the BCI releases. One thing that I like about this set is that the picture fills out completely on my HDTV. The first releases had the black bars above and below, even though the tv is widescreen already. That kind of bothered me. Now I can watch these ep's a bit bigger!! They will also be easier to transport with less discs in my dvd wallet for taking trips. I always like to bring some form of MOTU with me on trips

I REALLY Can't wait for the Blu-Ray release of this series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will look AMAZING in HD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring it on!!

Are you sure about the widescreen issue? I remember watching the BCI discs and the image took all the available space on my 40" HDTV.
Will check this out again tonight.

Ninjor mentioned an image quality improvement.. Can we do image comparisons?

Clueless would be a better description. She actually is a terrible reviewer and makes some rather stupid points.
Like why we weren't told about Keldor's reasons.
What about the Emperor's reasons or Sauron's reasons!!

One very important point that hasn't yet been mentioned (and this will probably be an incentive to those who haven't yet bought the series), is that Mill Creek Entertainment corrects some of the problems that the BCI Eclipse sets had.

If you will recall, BCI Eclipse was missing over 2 minutes of footage in the episode "Courage of Adam" (the entire part with Faker) and had to issue replacement discs, which probably aren't available anymore. Mill Creek has that footage in their set.

Got my origins set tonight at Walmart. It was with the $5.00 DVDs and they had two of them. Still looking for the complete set.
