Wow, that's pretty cool. I like the animation!
Right or wrong, buying a sub tells Mattel you want more MOTUC figures. Not buying does tells them you don't. Don't let MOTUC end early because you might not like their marketing strategy! Plus polls show you won't regret subbing!

One of the true fan minority - happy MOTU fans!

Yeah, that was posted during the SDCC, but I think the sound is slightly better on this one. Nice to see it on Youtube. Thank you for sharing. I wish there was a clean copy somewhere without all the background noise.

Sure looks like it. It just looks like they spent a little more time on shading and detail.

It's from somewhere else. This wasn't the only video being played there.

Yup. The Star Wars booth was across from the Mattel booth at SDCC. TheShadow recorded the video like 3 times the sound from the TV was coming from a seperate speaker underneath, so he got video than audio...

    Hi guys,

anyone knows if Mattel posted this commercial anywhere? I know it was shown at SDCC, but I would really like to watch it in a decent quality!

It's great animation. If you look at most of the toy commercials from the 80's, no matter the toyline, the animation in the commercials was always better than the animation on the TV show. G.I.Joe and Transformers are prime examples. This He-Man commercial is excellent. It's too bad we never got an animated movie like Joe and Transformers where the high quality animation is consistent throughout for He-Man. Can you imagine an hour and a half to 2 hours of animation starring He-Man on the same level or better than this commercial? It would be a sight to behold.

    Indeed.
What's odd is that Filmation was able to do non-stock footage system animated movies, just look at their Pinocchio animated movie.
Guess they decided to release Secret of the sword in theaters at the very last moment.

I saw that movie in theaters, Pinnochio and the Emperor of the Night. I loved Pinocchio back in the 80's and I had to see that film. The animation was great and so was the voice acting. The voice actor that does Steve from American Dad was Pinocchio, but I think he really was a kid then. It was a very dark story with some very intense scenes like when Pinocchio was changed back to a puppet. I'd love to have some MOTU with that quality of animation in the 80's.

Here is the video of the commercial I shot at SDCC. After I recorded the video, I held my iPhone up to the speaker and recorded the audio separately. I sent it over to markatisu who synced it up. So, you can more clearly hear it on this one. It was posted on the He-Man.org Facebook page back when SDCC was going on.

I see it perfectly fine. You should be able to see a picture, then click on it and video starts playing. :\
